Challenge #83 at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog - Anything Goes - Sponsor SheepSki Designs

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

🥂 Happy New Year 2021 🍾

Let's Hope it is a good one.

Being the first of the month the new challenge has started at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog. The theme is Anything Goes and the sponsor is Sheepski Designs.

I used lots of John Next Door dies to make this card. I used the Foston die set to make the background., Over the top I put some Leafty Flourishes and some tiny butterflies.

There are many wonderful images is the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This image is called Giant Daises and it is available HERE. I made a background on the computer and I layered the PNG image over the top. The image was coloured with my Faber Castell Polychromo colouring pencils. Aren't these gnomes just so cute?

This is a cute little card to start the year. I have cut back on my Design Team work. So I am not sure how often I will be posting. I do have another opportunity that has presented itself. If you look at my review of last year the news is buried in there.

Happy New Year!

A Kaleidoscope of Butterflies

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you getting on? Life is certainly strange. My hubby had a doctors consultation yesterday he had to send photos and then have a chat with the doctor on the phone. It was all done and dusted quite quickly. He is fine nothing to worry about.

I made this card with the leftovers after I made another card for a friend.

The card blank was made with the waste from the other card. There was enough of the inky background left to go behind the die and to make the butterflies. The die I have had for a while and this is the first time I have used it. It is the Butterflies in Flight Mini Striplet die from Creative Expressions.

The extra butterflies come with the die set. I did cut the striplet again and cut the butterflies from it so the free ones had some definition. To go behind these butterflies I used the Leafy Flourish dies from the John Next Door range.

This is the the striplet with an inky background. These background are made from gluing inky kitchen roll to some paper.

There is no sentiment. I might add one when I know who the card will be going to. It is good to have some cards like this in your stash.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

I hope you have a good week.

Beccy's Place - New Release - Live Large

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you getting on? I must admit that I am struggling to craft. I really must set  myself some goals. I am enjoying the weekday Doodling sessions that Barbara Gray is hosting every morning on Facebook. The videos are later loaded on to YouTube so no one has to miss out.

Today I am featured on the Beccy's Place blog.

Back at the beginning of the year Beccy Muir who own Beccy's Place sent me some new images to work with, I received the very cute Live Large set.  Here is what I made.

I do love an easel card. You do have to be careful who you send them to though.

This is the set of Live Large images they are available HERE Aren't they just so cute.

With digital images it is so easy to make groups with them. I created the background on the computer too. The bunting and butterflies are die-cuts. The Hippos were coloured with my Promarkers.

I used a stitched Flag die to make the stopper for the easel. It made a good place for the sentiment as well.

This was the second card I made. The images were coloured with Promakers. All the flowers were made with punches. I really don't use these enough.

This is just a small card. I used a new die set from Sizzix, The Hippo was coloured with Promarkers and he was nice and easy to cut out. The background was made with papers.

Here are all my makes together.

Stay safe and well.

A Kaleidoscope of Butterflies

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? Yesterday a lovely friend took me out for the day. Unfortunately I ended up with a really bad headache. I had to come home early and our evening plans were cancelled. I think the headache was a reaction to all the stress there has been lately. My mum is now home and she will be living upstairs. I am not sure if it is because of the dementia but she sleeps a lot.

Last week when I was making the wedding card with  Butterfly Heart die set, from the John Next Door range from Crafts Too, I couldn't believe just how many beautiful butterflies there were that came away from the die. So being me the WASTE had to be made into a card.

I used my Hougie board to emboss the background.

I went a bit mad cutting more butterflies to add to the ones I already had.

This is a Crafter's Companion die.

There you have it quite a simple card to make. I couldn't let those butterflies go to waste.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Enjoy the rest of the week

Wedding Card made with my new Dies

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? I have been invigilating but that is finished until after half term now. Today I will be helping at a Felting Workshop. I am hoping that I will be able to make another phone case as the one I made before fits my phone and my camera. For an update on my parents: my mum is still hospital and my dad is being taken to  visit her by a very kind neighbour. We will be going up at the weekend.

I have been a bit naughty and treated myself to some new dies from the John Next Door range. I just couldn't resist all hearts and butterflies in the Butterfly Heart Die Set.

I decided to make a wedding card. Hearts and butterflies are just so romantic.

I added another heart to the centre of the two butterfly hearts this was so the sentiment would show up. The gold sentiment has a white shadow.

I added congratulations too.

My daughter has already bagged this card. She is having to miss a wedding in August as she and her hubby have a very cool trip to Poland lined up. She liked the idea of this pretty card.

Have a great weekend. We will be mostly  hospital visiting.

Sent with Love Gerberas and Butterflies

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? As some of you will know my dad has been taken ill and is in hospital. My mum needs a lot of help. The time I can spend blogging and creating is now very limited. I will do what I can to keep up with my commitments. I hope you will bear with me.

Beck to the card. A few weeks back I went to the Newbury Craft show. I knew John Lockwood would be there and I always take him some jelly babies and this time I decided to make him a card. I had just received some of his dies and I wanted to try them out.

This is not a big card. I cut the card blank and I was thrilled that the outer die from the Gerbera Corner Die set had a square die that cut a perfect mat that fitted the card blank perfectly. Then I cut two of the corners out of a paler card stock.

I found a spotty card in my stash an I used that  to cut the Gerbera flowers. For the butterflies I cut a dark base for them. I found some paper that I had made using the shaving foam technique  and I used that to cut the detail of the butterflies.

This sentiment comes with the small butterflies die set. I think it is going to be very useful.

I think he liked the card I know he liked the jelly babies.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Crafty Catz Challenge blog - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week and have something nice planned for the weekend. We are meeting up with our daughter and son-in-law for afternoon tea on Saturday to celebrate Father's Day. Then on Sunday we will be visiting our parents. At least it will make a change from killing ivy. Today I will be doing my last session of invigilating for this years exams. I have enjoyed it and I have met some lovely people.

Being Friday the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes  The sponsor is Scrap N' Dipity.

For the background I used the corner dies from the Sandwich Box set from John Next Door cut in Pink. Over this I layered some of the Star Flower Leaves. The butterflies were cut with a tiny die from Creative Expression it cuts three at a time.

There are many wonderful image in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This image is called Gracie Fairy and she is available HERE.  She was printed onto Neenah card and coloured with Promakers. Then she was cut out with my ScanNcut.

The sentiment was cut with a Creative Expressions die.

Have a great weekend.

A Mother's Day card with a tale to tell.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How was your weekend? I hope you were able to do something nice. We made a trip to a nearby Waitrose so I could buy some Chilli Jam to make one of the the recipes in the Jamie Oliver Five Ingredients cookbook that I got for Christmas. We had to make a special trip as we couldn't  find anywhere else that stocked Chilli Jam. The rest of the day we spent tidying the rabbit room, which had become something of a tip, as they are coming to stay next weekend. On Sunday we went to see the Darkest Hour a very dramatic film.

I made this card with the bonus papers that would have been in the next edition of Quick Cards Made Easy magazine. But as we all know the  issue at the end of December was their last one ever. I did like the magazine a lot it is a shame it has gone. I am pleased that all the staff got jobs on other publications.

When the papers sent I printed them all. I started by looking at the sentiments and I decided to make a Mother's Day card. The papers were very pretty. There was always a stipulation that the card was square and no more than 150cm x 150cm. I used entwined  heart dies to make a fussy background.

So this is the sentiment I chose and I made a frame for it using some of the card from the mats and layers.

Then I used a punch to make the butterflies they added some extra detail to the card. I still like using punches they are quick. Did you spot the heart button in the corners. I bought those at the Makery in Bath where we went for my daughter's hen party. That seems so long ago now.

I still feel it is a shame that the magazine closed. I hope you had a great week

Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge Blog - Anything Goes with the Optional Twist of Using Something New

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is nearly here. I hope you have something nice planned. We are going to a party in Swindon on Saturday and on the way there we are hoping to visit a National Trust property. We have been looking at the book to try and decide where to go.

Being Friday the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz Challenge Blog. The theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of using something new. The sponsor this time is Bugaboo Digi Stamps.

What did I use that was new? The blue glitter card was new and the Ladybird die was new too. The backing paper was in my stash and seemed to suit the image. I used dies to cut the bunting, the butterflies, the ladybird and the sentiment.

There are many wonderful images in the store. If you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This image is called Sweet Unicorn and is available HERE! The image was printed onto Neenah card and coloured with Promarkers.

Enjoy your weekend.
