Chrono Matrix

The Chrono Matrix (クロノ・マトリクス Kurono Matorikusu) is a sacred treasure with power over time. Its sworn protector on Cybertron is Master Optimus Prime, although it does not grant him immense power, as he is not its true successor. Nevertheless, the Matrix is generous enough to give its guardian the ability of "Gnotion Empower" (ノーション・エンパワー), which allows him to read the intentions, wishes, and history of beings and objects and convert it to supernatural power.

Unsurprisingly, the Decepticons want it.

Fiction

G-Shock × Transformers

The Chrono Matrix appointed G3 Prime as an protector of time, granting him amazing powers in pursuit of this function. Battle of the Primes It came to be under the protection of Master Optimus Prime in a temple on Cybertron. The Autobot leader spent most of his time acting as Pedestal Prime, an altar for the Matrix.

One day, the Decepticons attempted to steal the Chrono Matrix by distracting its defenders with the powerful ghost alien Geistrom. He was ultimately foiled, but G3 Prime had to fall into a spacetime void in the process. He was able to communicate with Optimus Prime through a G-Shock watch thanks to an ability granted to the both of them by the Chrono Matrix. Battle of G3 Prime and G-Shock When G3 Prime came across the Dark Spark in the void, he took on a form similar to Master Optimus Prime and sealed the corrupted matrix inside a dimensional container shaped like the Chrono Matrix. G3 Prime's subsequent corruption by the Dark Spark into Master Nemesis Prime stripped him of most of the abilities granted to him by the Chrono Matrix. Battle of the Primes

Included with G-Shock × Transformers Master Optimus Prime, the Chrono Matrix is stored in the figure's chest. It can be removed from Optimus's chest and replaced with a G-Shock DW-5600 series or DW-6900 series watch (or pretty much any other watch).

It was redecoed into the Dark Spark accessory for G-Shock × Transformers Master Nemesis Prime.

Notes

• The Chrono Matrix is not directly related to the Matrix of Leadership, instead being more analogous to Vector Sigma.^[1]
• "Gnotion" is likely meant to be a portmanteau of "gnosis" and "notion", along with a play on "G-Shock".
