Fork In the Road

Ha!  I had a hoot coming up with this!  The Project Bin and Eyelet Outlet had an Instagram Hop a couple of weeks ago and I selected a package of Silverware Brads with the idea of combining the fork with this sentiment from the Wise Men stamp set.  As I was pondering the creation of this card I came up with the idea to add the vintage car from Classic Man.  Which fork will he take I wonder?

That's it for me today.  If you are in the US I hope you had a lovely long weekend!

Fireworks and Stars

This past weekend I participated in a joint Instagram Blog Hop with Eyelet Outlet and The Project Bin.  We had a lot of fun showing off summer projects which included stamps from The Project Bin and accessories from the Eyelet Outlet.

For my first card, I am featuring fireworks and sentiment from the Red White and Boom stamp set and added adorable Gold Mix Star brads from the Eyelet Outlet.

My second card features the same stamp set and star brads but with a completely different look by adding gingham paper in the background and vertical layer.

A closer look at those cool stars!

I stamped the backs of the cards with designs from the Hand Made stamp set.  A little heart stamp is included in the set so I stamped it twice with the "hand stamped just for you" sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Oh Chrstmas Tree in May

This week Stacy has chosen a site full of color and texture to inspire the IC650 challenge at Splitcoaststampers!  I enjoy creating Christmas all year long if inspiration strikes and it did just that today! THIS beautiful greeting card inspired my design.

To create my background I simply stamped distress inks on plastic packaging and spritzed with water.  I tapped first Lucky Clover onto my cardstock then dried the watercolor with my heat gun.  I did the same with Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves.   For the top layer, I used a tree die from Hampton Art and then stamped the sentiment from Love Bug Christmas by Unity Stamp Co.

For the inside, I stamped another sentiment from the Love Bug Christmas kit.  The tree die cut was sitting on my desk with one tiny green ink splatter which gave me the idea to tap the remaining ink on the plastic packaging randomly onto the tree die cut and adhere it to the inside.

I am playing along with a couple of Christmas challenges.

Hand Made Thank You

Today I am featuring a brand new set by The Project BinHand Made is designed for the back of your cards and projects. They are all super cute and several have space in the designs to add your name.  There is even an Angel Policy stamp: "Hand Stamped by..........theprojectbin" so that you can place the stamp on the back of your TPB projects and sell them!

For my teacher, thank you cards, I randomly stamped the little mini rose which is included in this set on card stock.  I die cut the hearts using the In My Heart die.  Next, I colored the mini rose hearts, then die cut a piece of foam with the heart die and adhered the foam to the rose hearts.

For the sentiment, I used the THANK YOU from the Deer Mom stamp set.  You didn't know there was a Thank You sentiment included in that set?  I adore the "Thank You for Letting me Lick the Beaters" sentiment but my mom never let us do that so I decided to do a little surgery and snipped the "Thank You" away from the rest of the sentiment.  If I ever want to use the complete sentiment it's super easy to place both pieces next to one another and no one has to know they were cut apart.  If you don't like the idea of cutting your sentiments apart then it's easy enough to just mask what you don't need.

For the pink card, I stamped the circular stamp on the back and added a mini rose coloring it the same as the front.  For the blue card, I used the Angel Policy stamp even though I will be giving this away to one of my daughter's teachers.  I love the font on the "hand made just for you" sentiment and stamped it on the yellow card.

With these cards, I am joining the CAS481 challenge to create a thank you card or graduation card.

Orange Owl and Flip-Flops

We have a super fun challenge over at Splitcoaststampers on Saturdays called the Inspiration Challenge.    The second week of the month is my turn to host the challenge.  This week I found a lovely little company in San Marcos, Texas. Vineyard Marketplace showcases a variety of products handmade by widows cooperatives, orphan-headed households, and other artisans.  I chose THIS adorable card as my inspiration.  Come check out my challenge HERE.

I used the orange and pink colors of the owl in the inspiration photo for my owl and pretty much changed everything else.  My card was made up of all MFT Stamps products.

Dies - Cross-stitch Rectangle Stax (given to me by my sweet friend JaneenK!)

Before you go check out this awesome video on how worn out flip-flops are recycled and made into adorable toys that are sold at Vineyard Marketplace. The hard work and ingenuity are remarkable!

All Fun, A Christmas Challenge

It might be hot and sunny out but today I am playing along with the May Dirty Dozen Christmas Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

Pain and Pride from Unity Stamp Co. is one of the first stamp kits I purchased from Unity, way back in 2012.  I can't believe it but it looks like I haven't created with it since 2013!  I checked out my gallery for cards I created with this stamp and found that this is actually the first time I have colored the hat and scarf, I usually paper piece it.  I also noticed that my coloring has definitely improved!  :)  I think this image is timeless and hilarious!

The inside says, " Have a Safe Holiday"

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope to see you in the SCS galleries!

Unsafe at Any Speed

I am having so much fun creating masculine cards with the Classic Man stamp set by The Project Bin.  My husband is a CAS fan, I mean REALLY CAS so my challenge was to create a clean and simple card but do something different than I have done before.

The vintage auto in the Classic Man set just seems to be on the roll to me so it seemed like just the thing to add a road!  I stamped the auto then masked it.  I then took a piece of paper and angled it across the top of the cardstock and sponged Memento London Fog for the road.  Every sentiment in this set is fun so I was eager to use one I had not used before and stamped "unsafe at any speed" in the top corner!

This week's SCS Featured Stamper is Connie.  Connie's gallery is overflowing with inspiration.  I browsed Connie's gallery for a CAS card and found THIS.

Sense of Occasion at Grandinroad wtth the IC

It's Saturday and that means it's time for the IC challenge at Splitcoaststampers!  Julie has chosen a gorgeous site to inspire us.  You can find this week's challenge at IC648.

Recently I won a generous prize from My Favorite Things Stamps.  I had a wonderful time shopping!!  I couldn't wait to take my new things for a spin!  This week's IC challenge was the perfect prompt.  I love pink and one of my new purchases was the Stitched Blooms card kit so as soon as I came across THIS photo the creative process was underway!

Red White and Boom

It's so much fun playing with new stamps!  Today I am featuring Red, White and Boom a brand new set from The Project Bin!  The Project Bin has added this new stamp set to the store knowing it's never too early to start on holiday cards!  I struggle to get cards out on time in the summer since there are always so many activities to keep me occupied so I am enjoying the opportunity to create 4th of July cards early.

I heat embossed the fireworks in blue and stamped the sentiment in red.  The white frame breaks up the background a bit and adds a bit of interest.

Thanks so much for looking!!!
