Rest your wings.....

 I decided Morpheus needed to be added to the Christmas images, so I've drawn him curled around a bauble asleep.  Each time I draw him he evolves a little, one day he may become a BIG dragon!

I've coloured the image with Copics and added a magical background with some Copic cleaner and a white acrylic paint pen.

I wanted to keep it nive and simple to showcase the card, so all I've added is some green glitter paper and some left over paper from 13Arts.  The sentiment "Rest your wings" was made from Tim Holtz stickers.

Purple Dragon

 

I'm using Almost Cute Dino No 2 for my inspiration at Colour Crazy Craft Challenge today, you can find it here in the Mirtillamente shop, he is just so cute!

I've coloured him with Copics in my favourite colour combination and then fussy cut him.  I wanted a fairly simple design for a boy card so I've just used a section of black card and some design paper from Hobby Craft.

The sentiment is a chippy coloured with Copics, in a lovely bright blue to make it stand out.  Then I've added a few sequins and gems in purple and blues to match the card colour scheme.

Time for my dreams.....

So we're sponsoring 613 Avenue Create this month, as well as that I'm honoured to be a guest designer with them and a Master Rocker this time :)

Their optional twist this time is Let It All Hang Out.  It's been a long long long long time since I did any mixed media so I though this the perfect opportunity.  

I got a couple of wooden door hangers from Hobbycraft a few weeks ago ready for this project.

I've used Morpheus the little sleeping dragon for my inspiration, you can find him in the shop here.  He's been coloured with Copics and them fussy cut.  Then I had a bit of a block after colouring him.  I was going to make my own cloudy background with some modelling past but our holiday got a bit in the way.  A crazy week at home, we were supposed to be chilling and well that didn't happen.  I've gone back to work this week for a rest haha!

So I grabbed a bit of time towards the end of last week and dug out some stencils.  I found some lovely floral ones from Tim Holtz and some dots.  I also used the ones with the scrip writing on (can't remember who that one is by without doing a lot of digging).

One I'd done the modelling paste bit and dried it I splashed some black gesso on and dried it.

Once dried I started to highlight the raised parts with Metallic gilding polish from Creative Expressions, some Distress Spray Stains from Tim Holtz and DecoArt Interference Fluid Acrylics.  Out with the heat gun again! 

Finally I added Morpheus, some silver gems, a white star and a sentiment "Time for my Dreams"

Really enjoyed my crafty time, just wish it wasn't so rushed!  Bloomin holidays :D

Dragon Training

I'm honoured today to share my card with you for my guest designer spot with The Dream Factory :)

Their film there this time is "How to Train Your Dragon".  So I've done a sleeping dragon for my inspiration, because rest is just as important as training and play!

I've combined two of my images Morpheus and Daisy Panel and printed them large to be to focus of the card.  The images were coloured with Copics.

A scatter of embossing enamel and a sentiment, "Living the Life" is made up from Tim Holtz stickers.

Playing with Clouds

It's been a while since I coloured this one.  It's called Seraphina's Heart you can find it here in my shop on Etsy.  I'm offering 20% discount for a week only use SPRINGSHOP20 at checkout ;)

I've coloured the image with Copics, then added a little black polychromos for that little bit extra depth in the scales.

During my latest Copic coluring class with Faye (Copic 2) see more details here on her blog.  She showed us how to create a cloudy background with a stencil.  This is the first time I've done since it so hopefully I'll improve with practice

I've just added some purple design paper to compliment the image and black card to frame it, doodles a little in two corners and added a LOVE sentiment (you can find these in the wedding section in Hobby Craft.

This is a new image, it's Morpheus, he's awake!!  AND he's got some little dragonfly friends.  the image is called Dragon's Fly (did you notice Morpheous now has wings?).  You can find Dragon's Fly here.

The image was coloured with Copics and I've also used a white gel pen.  The image and design papers framing it have been cut out with Spellbinders dies.

Where Dragons Sleep

So where do tiny dragons sleep, in beautiful flowers I'd like to believe.  This is how I drew Morpheus.  You can find this little guy in my shop here.  I've created this card for the inspiration over at Passionate Paper Creations and Friends this week where I've got three games running to win my images :) . If you don't already know I'm sponsoring them - but there's not a lot of time left if you want to grab the discount code or enter the games!

Coloured with Copics, a white polychromos pencil, and white and gold gel pens, I've textured the background using champagne (Faye knows what I mean - she taught me how to do it!)

I've kept the design very simple to showcase the image for you.  Morpheus has been framed with some black card and design paper from Maja Design.

A simple sentiment complimenting the image from Scrapineic - Always Follow Your Dreams.

This little cutie is Morpheus.  He's been coloured with ProMarkers and I've added some black polychromos pencil to give the shadows more depth.

The papers are black card stock and Lemoncraft.

I've used Spellbinders dies and Marianne Design dies and a paper flower in the middle of the two paper swirls.

Little black gems and some green enamel dots complete the look.

Morpheus

My hubby named this little guy - Morpheus (God of Dreams).  You can him find at SheepSki Designs.

I've coloured him with my favourite ProMarkers and added a little extra shading with polychromos pencils.

Cut out with a Spellbinders dies I've distressed the edges after colouring is with Pale Blue ProMarker.

The distressed design papers are from Lili of the Valley.  I tried a few combinations of papers and this was one that made him still looked like he was in a garden of flowers - but - it also made him pop! 

The sentiment, which I though appropriate for the image and its name is one from a Lili of the Valley Art pad,  I've coloured it with ProMarker, distressed it and added a little DecoArt loose glitter.

Finally I added a scattering of sequins and rhine stone gems to give it a bit of bling and magic

Seraphina's Heart

My hubby looked over the other day to see what I was drawing on my iPad.  I learned something new - that he loves dragons.  Hmmmm.... I thought Valentines is coming up perhaps  I can do this for him, so I added a smoke heart to the image.

If you like her you can find her in my shop on Etsy - called Seraphina's Heart image no 14.

A few of you may have seen the coloured up version on Facebook the other day but I still had to decide what to do with her.

As you can see not too much as I wanted a clean and simple card to focus completely on the image.

She's been mounted onto some black card stock to frame her.

The adore you sentiment and hearts were from Paperchase and my finishing touch are some self adhesive gems.

I think I'm fairly safe posting this today my hubby doesn't look on my blog very much :D
