Langkawi Staycation : Places & Foodie Sharing

Salam and Hi lovelies!

OMG, it's been a while truly as we've already reached 2023 now. I know I am 1 month late as this is my first entry for this new year, yet yeah I'm convincing myself it's never too late to still be writing and sharing here with all of you right hehe - it's all thanks to those whom are still stopping by and read variety of my previous entry, indeed I still get the update each day and thanks a lot to you all that been coming and reading here okayy, truly motivates me to keep on sharing here hehe. Oh before it's too late, Happy 2023 to all and wishing we'll have a better year than before insyaAllah.

Alright for my first 2023 entry, I wanna share with you guys regarding my trip to Langkawi few weeks back with my little family. Alhamdulillah that trip was to crossed the wishlist of taking the kids somewhere via flight, as they never been in one before, as well as gotta use my AA credit before it expires soon, so yeah two birds with one stone kinda situation I guess? So, I booked the SNAP (flight with hotel stay) on Air Asia for 3 days 2 night staycation to Langkawi - me and my hubs thought that'll be easier right. We combed through many hotels and reviews before finally chose our hotel to stay and everything in app, and yup, hoping for the best huhu.

Well, Alhamdulillah the flight went well for both ways, including our baggage and all. It all went smoothly and good as in for our overall Air Asia flight experience. No delays or anything.

But, our only downside is the hotel. Yup, too bad that we felt like we might not opt for the SNAP again after this. When we got to the hotel, it gave us some awkward moment as it's not as it seems in their pics. Indeed it's an old hotel but they did took some care of their ambience, but still gave us some kind of ill at ease, as we didn't thought it'll be and looked that um, old, maybe. Idk. Idk how to describe it. It's mostly empty there, almost gloomy I must say. Not many people staying when we got there, and seems like need maintenance here and there including around the pool side. There's one pool that's alright tho, but okayy, we gave them a chance by just proceeded to check in and went up to our assigned room.

Here goes our first problem, the door jammed and can't be opened even with the hotel room card. Called the receptionist and she said she'll send someone to help, yet no one came. Luckily their room cleaners were around and we asked for help, they managed to open our door for us after several try using their master room card. Alright next, of course first thing first I'll tour and check the room as per usual - looks decent, understandable for such old hotel - but here comes another problem - the toilet flusher's already broke and the window's lock were also already broken, hence can't even lock the window (it's a big and long window panel, overview the old, out of service pool side) and from the look of it, we're worried for our safety upon our stay as well as for our luggage and stuff when we're not in the room, since people can definitely get in from the outside via that window.

Again, we called and informed the receptionist regarding the problems and she said she'll send someone to check first and see how it goes later. Again, no one came. After twice called later and almost 2 hours of waiting yet still nobody came to check and no resolution, we decided to just check out of that hotel. Yup we don't think we can stay there like that and we've already gave them the chance, yet still everything were just not right. Hmm so here comes the quest for searching for another hotel on the dot - thank god for Traveloka, I found another hotel that is hopefully good indeed huhu.

@qeelalalala #Hello2023 w a #familytrip to #Langkawi ❤️ #LangkawiTrip #recommendations - #LavigoResortLangkawi 👍🏻 #cafelangkawi #saukcafe 👍🏻 Great services, we’re happy to stay there! 💝 #Cenang #travel #minivlog #tiktokguru #minireview #travelvlog #Myfoodie #breakfast #langkawifoodie #langkawiresort #travelwithkids #airasia #mytravel #travelmalaysia #CapCut ♬ France Accordion Swing - MIZUSATO Masaki
So, this is where we finally have our stay - at Lavigo Resort - totally recommended to stay here!! Shout out to the receptionist at Lavigo Resort, as she truly was such a kind and big help - she herself recommended me the way to get the cheaper price for stay there on the dot (since I didn't managed to booked via Traveloka at that time as it's just freezes and loading then crashes whenever I wanna make my payment in the app). Well as a result, I managed to get around the same price and savings as Traveloka's offer (since walk in price were bit higher than those online booking price actually, yeah you know right) - thanks a lot to her hehe. We stay for 2 nights, cost us RM441 in total for family suites room with bath tub. We're happy with our room as it's really cozy, spacious enough with air conditioning, mini fridge and more, beautiful with balcony overlooking the idyllic resort view, nice in room bath tub and fun pool (cute floaties etc included too!) with variety of swings as well nearby! Feel free to watch my TikTok video as included for more insights okayy, truly worth every pennies!

As for this resort, they do provided an ironing station across our room - 2 iron with ironing boards on each station, gave me hostel / dorm feeling whenever  I went for ironing hahah. Not a hassle anyway since it's just across my room, but yup I still need my hubs to accompany me during ironing session late at night tho as I tend to overthink and playing scenes in my mind, yk, hahahaha. Oh and another thing is, we don't have breakfast in the resort, but there is this one cafe nearby, like just next to the reception area, which I truly recommended you guys to go too if you're staying there. The cafe name is Sauk Cafe - we ordered variety of breakfast foodie and coffee + smoothies there, everything taste really good and price wise are okay too. Feel free to watch my TikTok video as above for more insight okayy hehee.

Alright, as for places to visits, of course 3 days are not enough to cover every places to visits / have experiences everything there, so we just chose to go to :

1) SkyCab Langkawi (including SkyBridge, SkyRex, SkyDome, & 3D Art Langkawi)

I've bought the tickets online HERE to avoid any hassle hehee 👍

It's kinda like all in one place kinda attraction, as we can ride the sky cab to enjoy the exquisite view of Langkawi Island from up above the sky, as well as walking along the Sky Bridge to have some fresh cool air and admiring the view as well. Then after that, having fun experiencing variety of mini attractions such as the SkyRex (cool 3D Dino ride expedition experience), SkyDome (experiencing galaxy), and of course the world's largest 3D exhibition, the 3D Art Langkawi (great 3D art shows including opportunities to take lots of fun mind blogging pics). The kids truly love went to all of these attractions, yet my son was kinda scared to ride the Sky Cab ride tho, but he managed well hehe.

Oh there are variety of instaworthy spots there as well in between stops during the ride, as well as the staff will offer you to buy your family pics in souvenir form - do take note that they did offered on each stops, and it's better on the upper stops yea. Our bad as we thought it'll be only one (at the lower stop - they offered only pics with paper frame kinda album) but little did we know, on the upper stops, they did offered those pics too yet with the paper album frame + magnetic frame - which I think more worth it than the previous one). Each souvenir combo cost around RM50, there are RM90 combo and other but we didn't opt for those. See my pic below for the pics album souvenir combo yea :

2) Underwater World Langkawi

I've bought the ticket online HERE to avoid any hassle hehee 👍

Another must visit especially when you're travelling with kids, that loves animals hehee. This is their first time being up close with penguins, and they love how cute penguins can be hehe. There are also many types of aquatic animals as well as the fossils form, that we can see and learn about here, including in-exhibitions as well. Such a fun and beautiful place, and we did learn a lot too. I also found a mini hidden gems in there - such a calm and lovely spot of mini waterfall overlooking beautiful floras, felt like I could sit there for hours indeed! Watch my video to see it okayy 😁

@qeelalalala #pov when you came across this #idyllic corner at #underwaterworldlangkawi - felt like reaching such #hiddengems upon those cool moment 💝 #nature #naturelover #naturecorner #langkawi #langkawitrip #visitmalaysia #travel #minivlog #travelvlog #waterfall #miniwaterfall #scenery #peaceful #happiness ♬ How to disappear - Lana Del Rey
3) Cenang Duty Free

After we done with our visit at UnderWater World, here goes our duty free shopping mission of course, for other people they came for variety from foodie to cooking utensils and all right, but as for us, our target for the day was only chocolates, haha. So basically, we went to the one besides the UnderWater World, yet also we just walked along the road, entered each chocolate shops to find some that aren't available at the first two shop next to the UnderWater World, and shops for our fav - we stock up for variety of Whittaker's, Daim, Twix, Biscoff, Gery's, Maltesers, Reese's, Hershey's, Rafaello, Toblerone, indeed so many more for our family and friends as well. Prices are definitely cheaper than any other places back in our home town or online okay huhu.

@qeelalalala #LangkawiTrip w #family - some of great #placestovisit when u’re #travelwithkids ❤️ 3 days tak cukup, terpaksa ditch Crocodile & Animal Farm + Island Hopping since dah pernah experienced those, insyaAllah ada rezeki boleh repeat those next time + pergi more historical sites pulak 😁 Already got #CNY vibes everywhere, deco cantik2! 😍 #CNYBazaar2023 #Langkawi #travel #staycation #travelmalaysia #minivlog #travelvlog #skycablangkawi #skybridgelangkawi #skyrexlangkawi #3DArtLangkawi #underwaterworldlangkawi #DataranLang #DutyFreeLangkawi ♬ Flowers - Miley Cyrus
4) Telaga Walk at Chenang

Alright, this is where we have our dinner as there are variety of yummy foodie to choose from such was fried rice, tom yum, western food, Thai food, satay, juices, and many more. It's also nearby the Lavigo Resort actually, just up alongside the road. Cozy and spacious eating place, love their ambience there, and there are live show / singing as well in the background. You can also find a big park kind space, next to these food shops, where there are cute instaworthy props to take pics while touring around, aside from riding the bike or play bubbles together there. Truly lovely and pretty with colourful lights and all. Perfect for strolling after dinner, chilling while the kids have some fun too before get back to the resort. We've tried foodie from 2 shops - Comot Comot Seafood and The H Western Food, they really served such tasty foodie, really! Feel free to watch my TikTok video as below for more insight / close up. You gotta try them when you're there, okayy! 👍

@qeelalalala Guysss, #foodie sedapp area #Cenang here at #TelagaWalk #Langkawi ! #totallyrecommended kat 2 kedai ni okayy 😍❤️🔥🔥#Myfoodie #foodtok #langkawitrip #langkawifoodie #pantaicenang #foodlover #foodhunting #travel #family #seafood #tomyam #minireview #foodreview #CapCut ♬ France Accordion Swing - MIZUSATO Masaki
5) Dataran Lang

Well I think everyone already know this one too right, since it is indeed such a must to go take some pics at the famous enormous eagle statue there whenever we visit Langkawi, hehe. The view around is idyllic too especially during sunset, as we overlooking the sunset by the sea, with the lights around this Kuah jetty and lovely light breeze accompany us. I can see how much this place had grown in terms of entertainment (kinda) as there are variety of sellers that offers us foodie to toy cars that can be played around, and more. Not to forget the Lagenda Park as well as the Jetty Point Mall around the area for more nice walkway aside from duty free shopping by the bay.

We didn't managed to go to Crocodile Farm / Wildlife Park, as well as Island Hopping (and more!) upon this trip due to limited timing, yet it's okay since the kids kinda already experiences those during our other previous trips to another places, so yup we decided to ditch those from our itinerary. Also, for our whole 3 Day staycation at Langkawi, we just rent a car so it's easier for us to go anywhere. Truly recommended renting from IG : @keretasewa_murahlangkawi - good service, variety of car to choose from with good prices, car was also clean and worked great 👍 We rent a Bezza, it only cost RM80 per day for rent. Below are their IG yeaa guys :

Well, I think my colourful Langkawi trip have been all concluded here. Indeed since this is my personal sharing from what we've experience during our trip. I didn't include the not-so-pleasant-hotel name upon the start since I think some people might have really experience the opposite, might just be our bad luck with the hotel managements during that day or something, right? There are several people that seems to enjoy their stay there I guess from the look at the functional pool side. So yeah, I think might not be fair to include the name here as the receptionist already apologised during our check out and not that they treats us badly anyhow. Indeed of course, if you ask me honestly if I will be try to stay there again, I think I will not as I already found better option. Yet if you used to have a good stay there, go on and stay there again, okay, no worries 👌😊

Goodbye Langkawi!

Other than that, I hope what I share here are somewhat beneficial to all of you, especially if you're looking for a Langkawi Trip next on your schedule. We did enjoy our trip, and so does the kids too. Looking forward for our next trip of we don't know yet but of course would love to haha. In between, I'll regularly updates on my socmed (mostly on my IG & TikTok) and will try to write and share as often more as I can for this year here on my blog hehe. Thanks a lot to those whom keep on supporting as well as those whom came here to read, be it new, or as well as regularly from the old days. You guys rock! Take care all and have a lovely day and ahead! 💝

Ipoh Staycation & Food Hunting

Salam & Hi lovelies!

Alright as promised from my video posting, I wanna share all the deets for Ipoh staycation & foodie as me and my family had went to around last week. It was indeed not really planned, as actually we've been postponed this staycation several times before we finally managed to went earlier heheh. We even just walked in for the hotel room, since couldn't found the suitable room / stay for us few days before we went.

We were at Ipoh for 2 days and 1 night only, such a brief staycation indeed as we didn't went during the school holidays. Indeed it was way more comfortable that way since the place weren't packed with people as it will usually did during holidays / peak hours of course. Hence, the confidence to just walk in for the hotel room too heheh. In case you haven't watch my video of this Ipoh staycation, feel free to watch it below yeaa :

We stayed at Kinta Riverfront Hotel & Suites - which we got the Family Suites type of room with 2 king beds. The room includes bath tub, mini fridge, tv, iron & ironing board and the other usuals including free breakfast. We can see the river and town's view from our room, beautiful indeed at night with the colourful light outside, and the room is spacious as well as totally comfortable indeed for the 4 of us.

As for the breakfast food, we got to choose variety of foodie range which served in buffet style - we've tried their Pancake, Nasi Lemak, Dim Sum, Desserts, Coffees and Juices as well, everything were tasty! I think it's fair to say that the hotel location is also good as we're able to visit several places of interests around with ease and just nearby. Overall, we're happy with our stay at the hotel. As you can see I've featured some of the pics from our room, and below are the pics at the swimming pool, and during the breakfast time at the hotel okayy. You can find more in my video that I included here as well yeaa.

Next, let's go through with the places that we visited during our stay at Ipoh. Since we only have our vacation briefly, we didn't manage to ticked off every places on our place-to-visit list, but we're happy with our visits to these places too!

IPOH NIGHT MARKET

This is such a lively place as there are lots of foodie and things available in such spacious place, including live show as well to entertained every visitors. We easily found our parking when we arrived, despite saw many visitors already there as the front parking space seems full yea guys. Why here you asked? Well, one of the most popular to try in here are the Niase stall foodie which are popular with their Thai TomYam & Grilled Beef (Daging Harimau Menangis if I'm not mistaken).

We wanna try both of their specialties actually that night, but unfortunately they've ran out of their grilled beef stock, hence we only managed to try out their famous Tom Yam with noodles. Boy oh boy, the bowls were filled with prawns, enoki, etc and the Tom Yam gravy definitely 'kaw' enough - tasty, spicy, yet creamy and thick. As someone who doesn't eat spicy food, I gotta warn you that it's really spicy for me, but taste good indeed. While as for my hubby who eat spicy food, he said that it's good and the spiciness is okayy, but the creamy taste isn't really his cup of tea. Perhaps because he preferred the regular (non dairy) Tom Yam gravy better.  My take is, you definitely gotta try them yourselves and the portion were satisfying too.

Other than that, we also brought the Jumbo Juice Cup (which stall located in front of the Niase's stall) and other tidbits as well such as chicken wings, fries, egg bubble waffle and nuggets from nearby stalls. All tastes good, just the usuals, you know. I've included all these foodies in my video as well so feel free to check it out yeaa. Then we just wandered around, looking at the stuff they're selling, as well as took some pics at this instaworthy section of the place - with the colourful lights and all. We also passed by a Haunted House there, yet it's kinda funny as we heard the sound from inside heheh yeah you might giggles as well if you're passing them by. Overall, there are lots of stalls that you can check out there too, and we had a fun show from their talented dancers and singers that performed that night.

IPOH HAINAN CHICKEN RICE

Oh before I forget, we had our lunch here at this famous Ipoh Hainan Chicken Rice shop (Jalan Anderson) the day that we arrived, right after checking in in the hotel earlier that day. The shop are just nearby the hotel, it was indeed full the moment we got there, but luckily we didn't have to wait for long to be seated after my hubby peeking at the door since nobody's checking for a while. Anyway, the Chicken Rice tastes good, along with their desserts - which we ordered mango and caramel pudding on the side. I do like the mango pudding better actually in case you wanna know which between the two pudding. Generally the portion is good too, yet I think some of their server could try to serve the customers better - we understand it's such a busy day at the shop, but that doesn't mean you can't serve us happily (even a fake one) with a smile on your face as well as speaking to us with good tones while asking and taking our orders, right? Overall, we're good with our lunch and just went back to our hotel as the kids wanna have some swimming time that evening huhu.

CONCUBINE LANE

Okayy guys, here comes the next and our last day at Ipoh. After check out from our hotel at noon, we visited Concubine Lane first - originally we thought of went there during the night of the day that we arrived (last night) but found out that it's basically ghost town there after 6pm, hence here we are visiting it during the noon. Since it's not during holiday, the crowds there aren't packed, so it's lots more comfy to walk around. This is a one narrow lane, much like a backdoor walk of the shops which we can find variety of shops selling foodie, flowers, and other street thingy stuff like bags, sunglasses, and more on our left and right side.

We also stumbled upon this one shop that offered a free exhibition like thingy - the Glow In The Dark Sand (inspired by the Blue Sand). Interesting indeed, even though the glow in the dark are artificially made, it does works and seems pretty indeed. I've included it in my video so you can see okayy.

As for foodie, there are variety that you can try and are already viral such as the Ice Ball, Cotton Candy, Kuma Rainbow Cheese Toasts, and more, yet these were the other things that we've tried too yeah :

PLATFORM 9 3/4 (For Harry Potter a.k.a Pottered fans!)

I know most of you guys might have had visited this cafe already, but to those who doesn't yet, the cafe is on the right side after you've passed the Raindrop Cake stall okayy, you might missed it since it doesn't,t stand out much from it's outside look. The interior are filled with Harry Potter theme indeed, with several instaworthy spots for you Potterhead to take your pics or shoots some videos. Mind you that you need to make at least a purchase each in order to go upstairs and down at the back for their famous Harry Potter theme spots and tools. As for that, we've tried two of their drinks, which I can say that I happily recommended you guys to try - the Phoenix Cold Brew, and the Cookies & Cream Chips Frappe. They do have lots other selection indeed, but these are from some of their best pick, and glad that chose to try these too, as it does tastes good! For the Phoenix Cold Brew, I love how strong the coffee taste, not bitter for me, but blend nicely and truly umphh with the ices. As for the Cookies & Cream Chips Frappe, it taste yummy too, much like mocha as the chocolate and choc chip cookies more overpowering but not too sweet, hence it's tasty indeed.

Next, I did tried the Raindrop Cake as well, it's actually pudding like texture which I did enjoyed - surprisingly it's good to try even though it seems really simple at first. I mean, frankly speaking, this is not on the top of my foodie-to-try list since I know how it will be taste like from looking at it before coming there, but yeah it kinda give me that feeling-good the moment I ate it. It's like a childhood memory gushing it's way back to me upon each bites. The firm but gooey and translucent 'raindrop' enjoyed with sweet sauce (I think it's the Gula Melaka sauce) along with crushed peanuts on the side, you know we Malaysian definitely familiar with all that right, hence I find this easily be enjoyable indeed, well at least for me. You can look at the close up for these Harry Potter cafe & Raindrop Cake in my video okayy.

NASI GANJA YONG SUAN

Indeed this is one of the everyone recommended kinda foodie if you go to Ipoh, so yes we gotta go and try it too - especially my hubby since this is on top of his foodie list to try. The first day that we arrived, seems like the line was too long, as we kinda arrived early evening, hence we decided to go the next day at noon, so here were. My hubby managed to tapau after been in line for not long, and after finally tried to taste it, he said that it's good and he's happy that he managed to finally tasted it. I think if you're a fan of Nasi Ganja and Nasi Kandar kinda type, you might enjoy this one too okayy.

Alright, before we head back home, we visited Gunung Lang Recreational Park for some back to the nature kinda activities with the kids. We join the boat ride and went on to visit the mini zoo as well as sight seeing around the park which include several types of village house, several kinds of animals like horses, rabbits, peacocks, bison, deers, etc and able to fish feeding too. Again, looks like it's not that much there but it was fine and we're had a good and fun time together. Truly love the serene views there as well. In addition, we brought their souvenirs there which include our picture with frames, one frame is like a booklet, and another one is kinda like a mini two-way frame - can put on a table as per usual and a fridge magnet as well, conveniently lovely indeed.

Okay guys, that's all for our brief visit to Ipoh. We'd like to go again to cover more on our list, perhaps someday, right. Anyway, hopefully my sharing here is somewhat beneficial to you guys. Thank you for stopping by and giving your time to check out my sharing here yeaa. Till then, take care and have a great week ahead everyone!
