Hmmm. After seeing Bonnie's post today about Quiltmaker magazine. I wonder if we are going to use these flying geese blocks to make ceiling fan blocks. They could get paired up with 2"x2" blocks. Just a thought! We could make 32 celing fan blocks. Hmmm. We'll see.

Two down... 126 to go...
I started step 2 of Bonnie Hunter's Easy Street. Here's two flying geese. They measure a small 2" x 3.5". 126 more to go...

More Four-Patch Frenzy
I am going with the dark grey for my constant. I am also going to try to do
all of the background fabric the same. It's white with light grey and apple plaid.
Can't wait to see how "easy" Easy Street is going to be (from Bonnie's point of view). Orca Bay is still sitting in pieces in a box.

Pumping out the Four Patches
Lately I've been working on my little four patch blocks for the Scrappy Christmas QA at Sunshower Quilts. Love love love chain stitching. I went with red in one corner and green in the opposite corner with two neutrals in each block. Cutting went so fast with the GO! Baby 2" die. Yeah!

Modern Mini Mystery Round Robin (Last round)
Here's the final round added to Charlotte's Quilt for the Modern Mini Mystery Round Robin. This was fun. Each month I received someone else's quilt to add a border. On Charlotte's quilt I chose to just add a simple plain pink (not pieced border). I thought it needed to be toned down just a little and I was afraid that another pieced border would make it start to stretch and get distorted because her quilt was the largest one that I worked on.

Modern Mini Mystery Round Robin - 7th round
These Modern Mini Mystery Round Robin quilts just keep getting more and more exciting. Now I really can't wait to see mine. Here's how one was sent to me:
Renae's quilt was amazing! Here's what it looked like after I put all the little 1" triangles on the border:

Wish the true colors came out in the pic. But you get the idea. Here's how Renae's quilt and it's bazillion pieces turned out. Stunning!

Modern Mini Mystery Round Robin - Round 6
These mini quilts get more and more fun. Here's how Annie's block came to me from Renae:
Then I added a bunch of half square triangles and some grey. (Annie said that her vision of the starter block was to have it off centered at the bottom left.
Here's how Annie's mini turned out:

Modern Mini Mystery Round Robin - Round 5
Here's the border I added to the Modern Mini Mystery Round Robin this time. This is only round five. Dianne said she was making a pillow with this little quilt. She wanted to add embelishments to each round. I left her plenty of purple area so that she could do her thing, but did a type of prairie points like the ones she did in the center block. I hope she likes it. This little quilt has a lot going on! Amazing work, ladies!
I added some 3-D prairie points similar to the ones in Dianne's center block.
This was a really "modern" move for me and I was out of my comfort zone.
Dianne added a bazillion beads to embellish it. Check out her blog here.
Modern Mini Mystery Round Robin - Round 4
Here's the next round for this swap. This is the Modern Mini Mystery Round Robin that I received.
Vicki, the block originator, wanted her block off center. I thought I would make it a little modern considering how she started it and add some purple, black, and white wonky checkerboard border that helped it get a little more off center. Enjoy, Vicki! Then I sent it on its way to Charlotte in Florida.
This is how Vicki's mini quilt turned out. Awesome, huh?
Elf on the Shelf 11.21.12
Our Elf (Chippy) arrived the weekend before Thanksgiving weekend. My little guy didn't want to go to the bathroom today because the Elf was looking at him. But the Elf reminded him to flush.
Happy Thanksgiving!

2nd Round of the Modern Mini Mystery Round Robin
Here's the block for the second round of the Modern Mini Mystery Round Robin. The center block belongs to Madame Samm. Diane in England added the first border. Here's what it looked like when I received it. Both the first and second borders are 3D.
I decided that less is more and just put a bold print around it. I think it sets off the red covered buttons. I hope Madame Samm likes it. I sent it on its way to Renae in Indiana.
This photo is from Michelle's blog. It turned out something like this:

Here's the two blocks I received from Sue, my November Block Swap Adventure. They are perfect addictions to my churn dash collection.

1st Round of the Modern Mini Mystery Round Robin
Back in April I put this hexagon border on a quilt block for Lisa (one of my seven swap partners.) This was for the Modern Mini Mystery Round Robin. I didn't get to post it back then. Where the block is going and what you do to the block in your 1" to 2" added border is a secret until the person receives it around Christmas.
Check out Lisa's Blog post. Her quilt is AMAZING!

Log Cabin Blocks for the Sandy Quilt Block Drive
Michelle Foster of the Quilting Gallery is asking for help for those effected by
Hurricane Sandy. I finished my twelve blocks today.
My blocks will be mailed to my team leader, Rebecca in Utah tomorrow. She will work to assemble and finish the quilt and send it to the distribution center for Hurricane Sandy. This is a long-term, ongoing initiative. You can register to help at the Quilting Gallery.
