OMG - 01 + rainbow
I'm starting out the year as usual with OMG - One Monthly Goal. My project might look familiar to some. It was actually my OMG May 2019 goal.
I have named this project May the 4th as I started it on May 4th but I have changed my starting plans. Redoing some projects might not always work.
As you see I ended up with just one Darth Vader and stitched down the black center just as is for the other three. My goal is to finally finish these up.
I also changed my first pick of zippers. I have probably put the original pick back into drawer during past few months. The next step is to cut the lining and sew it all together.

Wishing all and OMG participants especially many rainbows in 2020 :)
Small finish which I did not share on blog. Made in 2019. There are definitely plans for some hand embroidery this year too.

WiP
I started quilting the cushion to be. Read more about the plus inspiration here. Not sure if I manage the deadline for #mmrcushionpalooza but that's not so important.
I started with yellow continued with orange and ended up with red. Yeah, color order is a must :)
I have joined #misterdomesticwal on IG. I tried this technique once without knowing what I was doing so it's cool to finally learn how to do it. There is free pattern on Craftsy.
Plus me and my friend Monika are thrilled that our quilt is in Viewer's Choice in Blogger's Quilt Festival. Thank you all! I'm squealing with excitement!
I'm calling it ours since it wouldn't be as awesome without her quilting. The voting is now open and you'll find tuns of inspiration. Check all the categories. I love this event.

WiP experiment continues
So what was the next stage of my experiment? I created paper template.
It ended up little smaller than my original intention but I was thrilled with the result.
I knew I will need some sheer fabric to hold those tiny pieces in place. I used polyester organza which I have left from other projects.
I wanted to add zig zag stitch to create some sort of grid but since the letters are small I don't think it is necessary.
I transferred the template onto fabric and cut it out. I added light weight interfacing so hopefully raw edges will not fray that much.
All finished and ready for quilting. I'm a bit afraid the quilting will ruin it but we'll see ;) I want to run small stitches around the letters but I'm also thinking about matchstick quilting. Decisions decisions.

WiP mix
Basically this was a little experiment of mine. I wanted to try if you can use postage stamp technique with HSTs as well. Plus I wanted to use up scraps as well.
It is quick and fun technique. It is all ironed on lightweight interfacing. As you can see on the first pic those little points looks good without extra sweat and matching. I only used 1/4" foot with guide to keep all my seams even.
Half way through looked pretty interesting too.
I wanted to make pouch at first but I'm feeling cushion would be better to show off all this colorful happiness :) Are your eyes also drawn to the little hour glass block?
To hide some stains I used some fun panels as an applique on T-shirts. They are ready for blanket stitch.
Plus I'm still working on Elephant parade. I added thin satin ribbon as legs. At first I wanted to stitch them down all the way but I will only stitch at the bottom.
And do you remember my giant eye turtle? It is all fixed now :)

Scrappy WiP
Playing out with scraps. First a bit random layout. Nope.
Second try. Better but not right.
Oh no, OCD mode. I was left out with some scraps and that was definitely not my plan so I slept on it. I added few squares today and started over.
That's probably final version. No need to spend more time on it. Those squares are 2" so there won't be much left once sewed together anyway :)
I'm also working on eyes for all the animals from Elephant parade. These seems all right.
This one is a GIANT eye but it made me smile. I'll adjust that for sure.
Thank you for clarifying how to call these black things I'm using for eye pupil. I'll call them sequins from now on :)
Do you have some scrappy project yourself? Don't forget to link up with Scraptastic Tuesday.

Plan B
I was excited to piece the Triad Interlock but it didn't go as I planned.
I worked with triangles before but those ones with straight lines were the problem. To make the lines continuous the edges were off and I couldn't figure out how to make it right.
The pattern works in rows but I couldn't see the way to make the lines align.
So I took it apart and went with Plan B.
Not as pretty but doable.
The rows went together pretty quickly.
It is a bit wonky but all right. I added the corners and I'm all set to quilt it.
I don't see mini as the hexagons are pretty large but I see new cushion right there.
