Apologies, it clashes with the Coventry meetup that I'm already committed to. Hopefully, I'll make the next one. --RexxS (talk) 19:19, 19 January 2013 (UTC) We are going to run out of Sundays as more meetups start! Philafrenzy (talk) 20:29, 19 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Agenda

[edit]

Informal chitchat with no set agenda.

If you have some ideas for discussion topics, please put them below.

About the meet up

[edit]

A social gathering for Wikimedia enthusiasts, where we...

  • Drink coffee and/or beer and some of us have Sunday lunch.
  • Chat about Wikipedia and any other topics we fancy.

Mainly a casual social event. You can expect to meet some very keen Wikipedians, however this is also an open invitation to anyone interested in finding out more about Wikipedia, other Wikimedia projects, projects re-using Wikipedia, and other collaborative wiki projects. Feel free to come along and raise these discussions over a beer. Alcohol consumption is optional.

Location

[edit]
Approximate location of The Hope Tap, Reading.

The Hope Tap is a Wetherspoons pub. Wifi and food are available. The pub is on the south side of Friar Street, not quite opposite Sainsbury's, in direct line from the arrow in the map at right.

How to spot us

[edit]

It's easy to find us, look for anyone with a laptop out or a Wikipedia lapel badge or similar. We plan on being as close to the entrance as possible but may be at the back if the pub is crowded.

Getting there

[edit]

First Great Western operate services between London and south Wales, west and south-west England to Reading railway station. Services between London-Paddington and Reading usually only take around 25 minutes (look for the high-speed trains). South West Trains operate services between London-Waterloo and Reading, ideal for those in south-west Greater London and east Berkshire. Cross Country services reach Reading from Hampshire and Dorset in the south, and the Midlands and Manchester from the North.
