Location: Belfast (Ulster Museum) 10.30 am & The Bridge House pub, 35 Bedford Street at 1 pm

[edit]
Attendees at a recent Wikimedia meetup.

Attendees

[edit]

Add your name to this list if you can make it to the first ever Northern Ireland meetup. Note that people of all ages and all Wikimedia projects are welcome!

Please also invite any N.I. Wikimedia people you know (or have had wiki dealings with) – spread the word!

Attendees seem to be dropping out, which is a real shame. But the meetup is still going ahead.

Activities

[edit]

A two part event, with no obligation to do both parts. If you have any other thoughts, then please discuss them on the Talk page.

Part 1

[edit]

A visit to the Ulster Museum from 10.30 am where there will be the opportunity to take photos of the exhibits, the building, or anything else that takes your interest. There will be a small prize (possibly as small as a Barnstar) for the best photo uploaded to Commons afterwards.
(Note that while the museum mostly allows flash photography, no photography is allowed in the art galleries.)
Meet by the Lord Kelvin monument at the entrance to Botanic Gardens at 10.30 sharp, or in the museum foyer if raining.

See here for further information about the informal photography competition.

Part 2

[edit]

A social gathering at The Bridge House pub, 35 Bedford Street from 1 pm, where we...

  • Drink coffee and/or beer and some of us have lunch.
  • Chat about Wikipedia and any other topics we fancy.

Mainly a casual social event. You can expect to meet some very keen Wikipedians, however this is also an open invitation to anyone interested in finding out more about Wikipedia, other Wikimedia projects, projects re-using Wikipedia, and other collaborative wiki projects. Feel free to come along and raise these discussions over a drink. Alcohol consumption is optional.

How to spot us

[edit]

It should be easy to find us, look for anyone with a laptop out or a Wikipedia lapel badge or similar.
