Hannity Freedom Concert in Tulsa: Tulsa World Shame on You

Sean Hannity's Freedom Concert in Tulsa last night was great success. In fact, of the eight concerts, Tulsa was the first to sell-out. Col. Olie North started the Freedom Alliance project to send children of deceased and permanently disabled Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Guardsmen and Marines to college with Freedom Alliance scholarships, and other support.  To date, the project has issued $3 million dollars for scholarships and has $15 million in trust to grow to be there for the future youngest children of those whose fathers and mother will not come home. The Tulsa World, which never misses an opportunity to shame itself over the slightest sign of patriotism, gets it wrong again.

Sean Hannity and Charlie Daniels

Hannity's Freedom Concerts are just one of the fundraising opportunities for Freedom Alliance. The concerts are responsible for $10 million of the $15 million held in trust. The Freedom Concerts are a project of The Freedom Alliance, founded by Colonel Oliver North. The Alliance does incur the cost of providing transportation for our troops, their families and the families of the scholarship recipients. The costs are paid out of The Alliance programming budget. Neither North or Hannity receive "a salary or stipend" for their participation. Sean and Jill Hannity have personally donated over $1 million. Yet the bitter Liberal loons drone on.

Sean Hannity

Most of you know that I have no respect for my local newspaper, the Tulsa World. If you were listening to Sean's radio show yesterday from Tulsa, you know that this utterly-liberal paper did a hit piece on Hannity and the concert, both before and after the event.

James D. Watts, Jr. (no relation to J.D. Watts, the former Congressman - that we know of) who is the "World Scene Writer," correctly titles his piece "A concert with an attitude." The concert definitely has an "attitude," of 1) support for the troops and their families, 2) a deep love for America, 3) a deep appreciation for patriotism, 4) a strong belief in America's exceptionalism and 5) and unwavering support for American sovereignty.

J. D. Watts, Jr. the writer, slammed the Lynyrd Skynyrd band for their patriotism and loving their "God and Guns." Many years ago, the Lynyrd Skynyrd band were a bit rebellious and outspoken as opponents of handguns. Today, Lynyrd Skynyrd's career is soaring, and through the band's tribulations of losing their front man Rickey Van Zandt to a plane crash many years ago, disbanding for a decade, coming back together, losing other band members to heart attack and cancer, they have emerged as passionate supporters of our troops, AND of the United States of America AND the U.S. Constitution.

Lynyrd Skynyrd: Mark Sparky Matejka, Rickey Medlocke and Gary Rossington
Lynyrd Skynyrd: Johnny Van Zandt

The same criticism of Charlie Daniels. Many years ago Charlie sang of getting "stoned in the morning" and "drunk in the afternoon." Today Charlie Daniels is talking about the common sense way to eliminate criminals - see that video below.

Charlie Daniels Band: Pat McDonald Drummer

Writer Watts talks about "The controversy." 1) the concert portion of the evening gets most of the time, but Sean gets "most of the attention," and 2) a "conservative blogger, Debbie Schlussel" has accused Hannity of benefiting personally from the concerts (I believe she accuses North of the same).

Olie North

The president of Freedom Alliance, Thomas Kilgannon, sent a letter in March to members of Friends of Freedom Alliance, in answer to Schlussel's charges, and said Hannity "does not use any Freedom Alliance Funds or Concert funds in any way."
Kilgannon's letter went on to say that "In 2008, Freedom Alliance spent a total of $6,745,717. Of that 79 percent ($5,317,970) was spent on Program Activities, 14 percent ($945,950) was spent on Fundraising (and) 7 percent ($481,797) was spent on Management."
The organization's IRS Form 990 for 2008 states that it gave out 167 scholarships totaling $802,250, and 429 Cash Assistance grants to wounded servicemen and women, totaling $266,651.
Of those 167 scholarships, only one - worth $1,500 - went to an Oklahoma student (the grants are listed only by the name of the college, in this case, the University of Oklahoma).
If this charity was Left-leaning, you can bet not a dime of Freedom Alliance proceeds would go to an Oklahoma military family...the one state with every single country voting a majority for John McCain - and the only state where Obama didn't win a single county. Hubby and I, living here in Oklahoma, bought tickets priced just under the VIP seats. We had second row, left of stage, great seats. After paying the $125 ticket price ($146 with tax), we donated separately to Freedom Alliance.

CNS quotes Freedom Alliance:
Hannity “pays for all his own transportation, hotels, and all related expenses for himself and his family and friends and staff,” and that he “does not use any Freedom Alliance Funds or [Freedom] Concert funds in any way, period.
Hannity is a conservative. In New York he can register as a Conservative. His concert promotes conservative thought. Maybe Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, or Ed Schultz have personally given $1+ million for military scholarships?  Just asking...

The Freedom Alliance is accused of not paying for a full-four year scholarships.
We analyze the specific needs of each applicant in granting scholarships and consider many factors including whether the student is receiving other aid and what need the student has demonstrated.  Our scholarships are renewable for four years of undergraduate study if the recipient maintains a 2.0 grade point average.  The scholarships typically run up to $6,000 per year so some students cumulatively receive as much as $24,000 toward their college experience.  We are fortunate to assist these students who could not otherwise afford college without the scholarships.
Tulsa World writer James D. Watts, Jr's article was typical Liberal drivel. We had a great event come to Tulsa and he did his best to discredit it. Once again, Mr. Watts, if you have participated in helping children of Military deceased or permanently injured get to college, just tell us about it. Why would you report what a blogger said when there are facts to dispute it? Oh yes...because you are a Liberal. We won't hold our breaths waiting for a Liberal event to support the troops or express any kind of patriotism.

Today, the day after the concert, a photo of Hannity and Charlie Daniels is published in The World with the title: "Freedom Concert: Republicans Gather." Darn right most of us were Republicans - but probably not all. Daylight will never dawn on a headline declaring Democrats gathered for a patriotic salute to the troops and the exceptionalism of America. Not going to happen. The photo accompanied Randy Krehbiel's piece claiming that the show "lured: Hannity fans. "Lured?" What an ugly and dishonest word. Is there an ounce of decency or honesty anywhere in the World offices?

On stage last night were two Obama supporters: Oklahoma Sooner coach, Barry Switzer - sounding like a true conservative, supported Democrat candidate for Governor, Jari Askins.  J.C. Watts, former OU quarterback, who led the Sooners to two National Championships and went on to be a Republican Congressman astonishingly also voted for Obama. From listening to Hannity's interviews with Watts, he was overwhelmed at the thought that a Black man might be president. From interviews, I doubt he will vote for Obama in 2012.  No matter how he votes, Sean Hannity is huge fan of pastor J.C. Watts.

J. C. Watts and Barry Switzer

Hannity threw out small, wussy footballs throughout the evening. The crowd loved it. Sean has developed quite a throwing arm. When J.C. Watts came to the stage, Hannity said they had a challenge going between the two of them: the longest ball of three tries wins. The winner donates $1,000. J.C. lost. When Switzer took the stage he defended his star quarterback saying Watts could chuck the ball out of the arena - and said he thought the contest was "fixed."

As I search the web for Liberal or Democrat charities supporting the military, I come up with zero. In the first place, Liberals believe government should take care of our charitable needs, and when Liberals do donate it is overwhelmingly for environmental, abortion and family planning, AIDs, animal protection, and civil rights disguised as "population planning." Yes, Hollywood shows up in places where there are foreign wars going on. They entertain the troops - an important mission. I just don't think they raise much money for the needs of the families of our military. I will gladly correct this if someone can point me to proof that Liberals raise money for Military families.

Michael W. Smith

Christian singer and songwriter Michael W. Smith spoke and sang. He told a couple of stories about George W. Bush. Smith sang at the 2000 inaugural, and was a visitor in the Oval Office. He started his program with the audience singing America the Beautiful. Michael introduced his wife, along with Jill Hannity. Sean said his "family" was there, and his son went on stage with him to pass the wussy footballs to Dad, and he threw a few himself. He is a sweet little replica of Sean. I'll only post a photo to show you the resemblance, even without seeing his face.

Sean Hannity's Son

Three recipients of scholarships were introduced, along with the Gold Star parents of a soldier who lost his life in Fallujah, Iraq.  I can't remember the name, I believe the last name was "Vincent." I hate it when I can't remember things like that.

There were so many highlights of the night. One was an awesome drum solo by Charlie Daniels' drummer, Pat McDonald - about a 5 minute solo. The second video below is of a similar McDonald's solo at California's Alameda Country Fair.

The evening was definitely a concert. None of the acts cheated the ticket holders. The reverb shook the floor from the time the first instrument was plucked. I could feel at the crown of my head - the entire night. This was my first time to see Lynyrd Skynyrd live. Rickey Medlocke didn't disappoint. See the photo above - see Medlocke's foot at about Van Zandt's waist - not bad for a 60-year-old. Van Zandt's voice was in fine form. Charlie Daniels will turn 74 in October and his voice is still extraordinarily strong. Olie talked about the troops, the many embeds he has had with them, and the times he has been asked by a dying Soldier, Sailor or Marine to "take care of my family."

A blog of the Tulsa World "lured" an abundance of pissy comments. On intimation is that not all that many attended the even at Tulsa's new Bank of Oklahoma (BOK) Center. I don't know how many were there but the room was full, with the exception of the seats directly behind the stage. The BOK holds about 17,000 for basketball games.

I get all of my news from the InterWeb. Hubby reads the Tulsa World for local sports and coming events. He never reads the editorials. Tulsa is a very conservative, extraordinarily beautiful city, which we consider a Nation's best-kept secret - yet we are plagued with this scummy newspaper.

Many thanks to Tulsa's KRMG radio, morning talker Joe Kelly and "most popular sports guy and charitable fund-raiser around," Rick Corey, for sponsoring this wonderful event. KRMG in Tulsa is the radio home of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Neal Boortz and Michael Savage. Laura Ingraham would be on KRMG if there was a daytime slot to fit into. I suggest Neal and his Liberal newser (Cox Radio Washington correspondent) Jaimie Dupree move on along and let Laura move in. My apologies to photographers everywhere. These are poor specimens except for the one I borrowed (see below) but remember the lights were strobing and the floor trembling and every opportunity for a great shot was interrupted by the onstage videographer stepping right in my viewfinder.

Joseph Charles a Judge for Muslim Men: New Jersey Judge Joseph Charles Respects Muslim Man's Right to Sexually Abuse His Wife

A Muslim woman in New Jersey has received a divorce from her Muslim husband, but Judge Joseph Charles has denied her request for a restraining order. The husband sexually abused her and forced repeated sex. The Judge respected the man's right as a Muslim to behave according to Muslim belief.

Muslim Woman

Judge Charles was overturned in July 2010 in an Appellate Court ruling that the husbands religious beliefs were irrelevant and the judge "was mistaken" in his assessment.  At least some in this country understand that Islam is first and foremost a tyrannical and misogynist government.

The woman's attorney, Jennifer Donnelly, said this Appellate Court ruling may help Oklahoma's law which will be on the ballot in November, banning judges from considering "international law or Shariah Law in their rulings. I'm in Oklahoma and I can hardly wait to mark my ballot for banning both.

When Judge Charles leveled his ruling, this was his wrong thinking:
In considering the woman's plea for a restraining order after the couple divorced, Charles ruled in June 2009 that a preponderance of the evidence showed the defendant had harassed and assaulted her, but "The court believes that [defendant] was operating under his belief that it is, as the husband, his desire to have sex when and whether he wanted to, was something that was consistent with his practices and it was something that was not prohibited."
Get this: the husband's imam testified for the man:
"The imam testified regarding Islamic law as it relates to sexual behavior. The imam confirmed that a wife must comply with her husband's sexual demands, because the husband is prohibited from obtaining sexual satisfaction elsewhere.
"However, a husband was forbidden to approach his wife 'like any animal.' ... he acknowledged that New Jersey law considered coerced sex between married people to be rape."
Judge Charles is unavailable for comment. "The husband has been indicted on criminal charges and will face trial in the fall." It is unclear whether the criminal charges are related to the divorce.

Oklahoma Primaries: Mary Fallin vs Randy Brogdon for Governor

As often is the case, Oklahoma has more than one conservative candidate. Such is the case with this year's June 27th primary and the two leading Republic candidates Mary Fallin, currently a U.S. Congresswoman and previously an Oklahoma Lt. Governor, and Randy Brogdon, currently a state senator.

Seldom do we see Sarah Palin endorsing the GOP establishment pick, but in this case Palin has endorsed Fallin as one of her Mama Grizzlies. Brogdon is cast as the conservative outsider. Both Fallin and Brogdon are very conservative, and both have been tireless workers for Oklahoma. If all things were equal, there is this...

The leading Democrat opponent is State Attorney General Drew Edmondson. I'm an Oklahoma native and I don't want to see another Edmondson leading this state. There was Ed and J. Howard, now Ed's sons Drew and Jim Edmondson, an Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice. Fallin has a impressive lead over Drew Edmondson in the polls, and is the obvious best choice to keep Edmondson out of office.

On July 7th, Oklahoma pollster Scott Rassmussen has Fallin ahead of Edmondson 48% to 39%. Edmondson leads every Republican on the ballot by double digits, including Randy Brogdon, with the exception of Mary Fallin.

Mary Fallin

Mr. Brogdon polls behind Drew Edmondson 48% to 36% [12 pts]. The July 7th poll has a margin of error of +/-4.5%. The Tulsa World poll above shows Brogdon as Fallin's closest competitor and he trails her by 38 points.

While visiting OkiePundit today, a great site for Oklahoma and election news (I borrowed the Tulsa World graphic above from them) I found a link to this tidbit: The Competitive Enterprise Institute has named Drew Edmondson the the Nation's third worst State Attorneys General behind California's Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown and Connecticut's Richard Blumenthal, who recently "misspoke" about his military service. No, I do not want Edmondson in the Governor's Mansion.

The campaign has been an unpleasant one between Fallin and Brogdon - or maybe Brogdon against Fallin is the unpleasant part. The two main charges against Fallin is that she took money from bailout recipients and she voted for TARP.

I'm not holding anyone too responsible for the $700 million 2008 TARP, except Democrats. Yes, yes, I know, it was on Bush's watch, but it was the Democrat Congress who fell asleep at the wheel, kept the CRA program rolling all the while knowing that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were explosive - and the Bush administration made 17 attempts to get the Democrat Congress to crack-down on the risky lending - all to no avail. Then there was no Congressional oversight of the SEC, as mandated - so RINO/Democrat Henry Paulsen was left to draw up the plan and present it to a shocked nation. Many voted for TARP who wish they had not done so today. We were in new territory and the knee jerk reaction was our economy would collapse. Today we know better, Then we didn't.

Brogdon said Fallin took donations from bailout recipients, but according to NewsOn6.com she received $5,000 from the CEO of an Oklahoma bank that did receive bailout funds. A spokesperson said the CEO was a long-time supporter of Fallin.

Brogdon also hit on her "earmarks," which Newson6 confirmed was not a traditional earmark, but was $8.5 million in stimulus money for Oklahoma National Guard projects in Oklahoma City and Braggs, although Fallin voted against the Stimulus.

This reminds me of a comment made by Oklahoma U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe. I have to paraphrase, but I think I'll get the spirit of it right: if the government is handing out money, take it for your State, because if you do not, the Democrats will get it. In other words, when you turn down funds of this type, don't be so naive as to think it goes back to an account and collects interest for the good of the country. According to Inhofe, it becomes a slush fund for the President.

I'm voting for Fallin in the primary. I believe she will do Oklahoma proud.

A Nebraskan's View of Oklahoma Politics

As I was doing research for Oklahoma's July 27th primary, I found a very interesting article. I am a native Oklahoman although I have lived numerous other places. My state is one Liberals like to have a lot of fun with. I figure they are jealous of our football, our fabulous young golfers and our amazing standard of living.

So today I found a piece at OK Grassroots written by a Nebraskan, Shelli Dawdy. She is talking about Oklahoma politics, a subject near and dear to my heart. We are an extremely conservative state, the reddest state, and quite frankly, Oklahomans cannot be blamed for any of the problems happening in Washington, D.C. today.

Here is a portion of Ms. Dawdy's article, and while she speaks about a few of our primary candidates, I wanted you to hear what she has to say about the voters in the Great State of Oklahoma.
I'm in Nebraska. Why do I care what happens in the Oklahoma primary election on July 27? by Shelli Dawdy @ Facts are Stubborn Things
While I do have a number of friends and contacts there, that is not what drives my concern. I have come to believe that Oklahoma is at the tip of a spear that for so many reasons, is pointing in the right direction. Oklahoma has a very strong, organic movement comprised of resolute people committed to the Constitution. It is considered by many the home of State Sovereignty and it requires less digging to find some strong legislators at their Capitol than in my own and other states.
State Representative Charles Key and State Senator Randy Brogdon, are at the top of that list; they have taken on issues like State Sovereignty and REAL ID, just to name two.
Oklahoma has a number of excellent Constitutional, liberty-minded candidates challenging incumbents. More, it seems than in many other states, and more that are rock-solid on core principles.
Further, as noted in a piece I wrote at the end of May, the mindset of registered Republican voters in Oklahoma, at least in the one place where I walked blocks, was palpably different from what I’d experienced in Nebraska. Few NE voters asked questions when presented with literature, and then only about party affiliation. If the candidate was Republican, with few exceptions, that was good enough for them. Oklahomans consistently asked questions, voiced dissatisfaction with the GOP, and were clearly intending upon investigating challengers in a race.
Having said all that, life at the tip of the spear is a tenuous business. My understanding of infantry is they take the brunt of the battle. Rep. Key and Sen. Brogdon have had successes, but they’ve also had disappointments. Challenging candidates and their supporters have been shut out from equal access by the GOP establishment. Supporters of State Sovereignty, individual liberty, and limited government have been called radicals, liars, and even insane. Entrenched power doesn’t go down easily. It gets really ugly, as a matter of fact, the more threatened it feels.
The people at the tip of the spear can’t hold their ground forever. Others need to join them. Infantry troops need backup. I’m in a state where the incumbents were re-elected across the board, with the most successful challenger garnering 37% of the vote. I want to see the movement back to core Constitutional principles, toward limited government, and a restoration of our Republic continue. Oklahoma is key in that fight. And when you see a success in the legislature or a candidate, it’s not really the one man you see leading the charge; he has a battalion of supporters working hard behind the scenes. They deserve and need reinforcement and support.
What will happen in Oklahoma next Tuesday? Will the discontent with entrenched power translate into the ousting of some incumbents? Perhaps. If some of the challengers had just a fraction of the support thrown at Scott Brown in Massachusetts, sending establishment, bail-out voting, Progressive Republicans packing would be much more certain. Read more.
I will be posting about Oklahoma candidates tomorrow (Sunday).

Kirsta Branch in Tulsa: I Am America Video in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Krista Branch is a Bixbyite. Bixby is a charming town just on the outskirts of the city of Tulsa, next door to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Bixby is the home of the best fresh produce in the area, beautiful loamy black soil that will grow anything, some lovely river views and the best hamburger in the whole area, according to my mother (The Brothers Bistro). I have yet to try it, but I plan to. See the video below.

Krista Branch

I'm late putting up Krista's I am America video, but I really like this one because it has the lyrics, and of course, because it is filmed in Tulsa, Oklahoma, one of the prettiest cities in the U.S. See the first video below.

Krista's husband, Michael,  wrote the song, I am America. Hear it in Tulsa in the first video and the second video is Kristin and Michael on the 700 Club and an incredible story told on the 700 Club, of an emergency with their baby daughter, Kenna Beth. She has a new song out, Remember Who I Am, available on her website and from iTunes.

Helmerich Payne Rigs Nationalized by Hugo Chavez Venezuela

Tulsa, Oklahoma based Helmerich and Payne, Inc. says they have not yet been notified of a move by Venezuelan dictator, Hugo Chavez, to nationalize their drilling operations. Reuters is reporting eleven Helmerich and Payne rigs in Venezuela will be taken.

Hugo Chavez

Chavez wants to start the company's rig operations that are now sitting idle. They are idle, according to Helmerich and Payne President Hans Helmerich, because the Venezuelan government has not paid for past work. "We stated repeatedly we wanted to return to work, just not for free."

Helmerich and Payne Headquarters - Tulsa, Oklahoma

In January 2010, Chavez announced he was devaluing the Venezuelan bolivar by half.  The Wall Street Journal article on this story says Helmerich and Payne negotiations with Chavez include disputes about "currency conversion" issues. In other words, Helmerich and Payne are likely expected to accept half payment rather than full payment.

Oil is the major source of Venezuela's revenue - most of that derived by nationalizing businesses legally owned by others. It's called Socialism/Marxism.

Banning Sharia Law on Oklahoma Ballot

Oklahoma State Representative Rex Duncan announced the Save our State Amendment which will be on the state's November 2nd ballot as State Question 755. See the video below.

Oklahoma Rep. Rex Duncan

Logan's Warning is enthusiastic in their reporting of this Resolution to receive the vote of the people:
Oklahoma lawmakers have seen the light, and are looking to follow in the footsteps ofLouisiana and ban Sharia Law. This is a great step in our war with Islam. The reason is that, not only does it protect us from Islam, it will also expose the pro-Sharia Muslims. Personally I would like to take it one step further though. After the law is passed, I would arrest and deport if possible, any Muslim that calls for Sharia Law. All Sharia loving Muslims are to be looked upon as enemies of the state, just like Nazis were.
Infidels are Cool says CAIR is already worked up - not happy, and quotes an article in Politics Today:
Sharia law defines a Muslim’s duties to God and to others, including social transactions and business, penal and family relationships. It is derived from numerous sources, but is not a single code of laws and is open to interpretation, though it is generally associated in the West with a draconian strictness.
As Infidels are Cool points out with an edge of sarcasm, "jihad, death to America, Israel , anyone who stands up to Islam," can certainly be considered "draconian strictness."

Note the mention of "family relationships." See, that's the thing. Muslim families come to America, and some of the women, maybe many of the women, maybe most of the women want to ditch the burqa and hijab...and other things. Shariah law would give Muslim men the added advantage of having Shariah law, and applying it, in the Land of the Free and the Brave.

Saad Mohammed, the director of Islamic Information for the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City said:
“Sharia is more of a protection than something used to oppress,” Mohammed said.
That's a subject for another post, but statements like this, make Americans want to run for the barf bag. We know better. That's why laws are coming down everywhere to stop Shariah. Too bad there wasn't a "pre-emptive" strike on Shariah compliance in our financial institutions. We are already paying for that lapse of common sense.

Video from this Logan's Warning post:

Oklahoma State Rep. Rex Duncan
Video text:

Oklahoma voters will have a chance to make a Pre-emptive strike against the spread of international law and Shariah law, which is the fundamentalist Islamic law spreading into Oklahoma courts
We believe Oklahoma courts should follow Federal laws, Oklahoma laws, the Constitution of our country and state and establish common laws to include other state's laws, so long as it does not include
Shariah law.
It's not a problem in Oklahoma, but it is a problem in other states.
It is an emerging spreading threat. I believe other States will follow Oklahoma's lead.

Morgan Elizabeth Wollard Miss Oklahoma USA Runner-Up Supports Arizona Immigration Law

Miss USA judge Oscar Nunez asked Miss Oklahoma, Morgan Elizabeth Wollard, the all-important pageant question. While Nunez misrepresented facts as he asked the question, Miss Wollard gave her answer to a cheering crowd. Here's what happened.

Morgan Elizabeth Wollard, Miss Oklahoma USA
[Nunez] Arizona's new immigration statute authorizes law enforcement authorities to check the citizenship status of anyone they think might be in the country illegally. [Booing began - Nunez asked them to listen to the question before booing]. Critics say this may amount to racial profiling. Do you think this should be mandated by the state or the federal government?
[Wollard]  I'm a huge believer in states' rights. I think it's perfectly fine for Arizona to create that law." [Then she said she is against racial profiling.]
Nunez asked a dishonest representation of the question, as Arizona unequivocally states that no one may be asked about their citizenship status, UNLESS they are under suspicion of a another illegal act. In otherwords, the new Arizona law DOES NOT authorize authorities to check the status of "anyone they think might be in the country illegally."

Miss Wollard was not in a position to correct Nunez. She received the most difficult and politically-heated question of the night, answered it admirably and it may have cost her the crown.

The difference between the two women is clearly demonstrated in the questions they received from the judges, and their answers. The winner was asked if she believed birth control should be paid for by health insurance. Her answer was...of course, 'yes.'

Wollard placed first-runner-up behind Miss Michigan, Rima Fakih, believed to be the pageant's first declared Lebanese-American Miss USA.

Madyson Jamison Heir to Grandfathers Estate: Uncle is Executor: Bobbie Jamison Cut out of Will

The story of the missing Jamison family from Oklahoma just got stranger. Bobby Jamison, his wife Sherilynn and their daughter Madyson have been missing since October 8, 2009. Bobby Jamison appears to have been embroiled in a dispute with his father, who died in December.

 Bobby and Sherilynn Jamison

The Jamison family, residents of Eufaula, Oklahoma, went to look at property in Latimer County, and haven't been seen since. Their truck was found with "a substantial amount of money" inside, along with their dog, which was barely alive.

NewOK reports today that Bobby Jamison's father omitted his son from his will. In May 2009, Bobby filed a lawsuit against his father, claiming he had worked for his father for years and was promised he would inherit half-interest of the business. Bobby Jamison tried to get a protective order against his father, but the request was denied.

In October 2009, the family vanished. In December, the father of Bobby Jamison, Bobby Dean Jamison died. Bobby Dean left his estate to his granddaughter, Madyson, and appointed his older brother - Madyson's uncle, Jack Jamison of Sallisaw, OK executor. NewsOK says  Jack Jamison has been questioned by the FBI and Latimer County Sheriff Israel Beauchamp.

Douglas Harold Polk is Broken Arrow Angel Rapist? Broken Arrow Rapist Suspect Arrested

One of the saddest and most horrific stories of rape in Oklahoma's history is the rape of a 5-year-old girl known to all of us as the Broken Arrow Angel. Douglas Harold Polk, Jr. has been arrested in the case.

Douglas Harold Polk, Jr.

The little girl was kidnapped from her front yard in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma (a bedroom community adjoining Tulsa) and brutally raped around 6:30 p.m. September 20, 2007. Her parents reported her missing. About 45 minutes later, searchers found her walking along a roadside, crying with no clothes and obvious signs of a brutal sexual assault, about 7-1/2 miles from her home. Her injuries required surgery. People all over Oklahoma donated to a fund to find the cretin.

Police Sketch of suspect released in October 2007

Polk was arrested on April 16th and charged with first-degree rape, domestic assault and batter, violation of a protective order. On the day of the arrest, his wife filed a protective order, stating that Polk had beaten her and threatened the family. He was investigate after the rape in 2007 and was never ruled out as a possible suspect.

Isn't the police sketch of Polk remarkedly similar? This little 5-year-old girl was able to give police an incredible description of her attacker. She told them he was fair-skinned and white, 30-40 years old, partially bald with thinning light-colored hair, with no facial hair and did not wear glasses. He was wearing red shorts and a yellow, short-sleeve T-shirt with the word "CAT" on the front.

This story deeply touched the hearts of Oklahomas. It is my hope that Douglas Harold Polk, Jr., if found guilty, gets the punishment he deserves.

Oklahoma Taxes Money Orders to Mexico: Mexico Threatens Oklahoma with Trade War

The state of Oklahoma passed a law last year to tax monetary wire transfers. Mexico has passed a resolution to urge their residents to stop buying anything from Oklahoma.

NewsOK says Oklahoma brought in $4 million in fees for wire transfers. That is a lot of wire transfers! However, the editorial says Oklahoma exports to Mexico increased by almost 50% from 2008-2009:
Oklahoma exports fell last year to $4.4 billion from $5 billion in 2009. But exports to Mexico grew from $358 million to $527 million.
VDare links to the Latin American Herald Tribune saying $21.18 billion was sent from the U.S. to Mexico in 2009 - "remittances" they are called. "Remittances are the No. 2 source of income from Mexico."

It is my opinion, readers, that we have to stand on principle at some time or the other. This is a good time to start. Think about it: if every state did the right thing, and refused to support illegal aliens, the U.S. would be a much safer, and states would be more fiscally sound.

The response from the bill's author, Republican State Congressman Randy Terrill, is a tighter crack down on illegal immigration in the state.

From TulsaToday

Terrill says Mexico, a foreign nation, is interfering with the sovereign actions of a U.S. state. He suggests the conversation should be about the "dope" coming from Mexico to Oklahoma, and the "shamefully dysfunctional Mexican government."
If they really want to pick this fight with Oklahoma, then I will be happy to immediately introduce or amend legislation calling for the state'current asset-seizure and drug-foreiture laws to be extended to all immigration-related offenses," Terrill said. "Id' also like to have good cause to advance legislation denying state-issued birth certificates to children born to illegal-alien parents. And we should restrict the actions of MexicanConsulars in Oklahoma who often assist illegal aliens attempting to establish permanent residence and find employment in the United States.
We'll see what happens. I'm with Terrill.

Bill O'Reilly Tom Coburn: What Coburn Conveniently Forgot

Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) was on O'Reilly tonight to explain why he took a couple of shots at FOX News recently. The background to the story is an Oklahoma woman in a Townhall setting in Coburn's district asked the Senator about a penalty in the health care law that could result in a jail sentence for failure to buy health care and/or failure to pay a penalty. Coburn told her there was no intention to put anyone in jail. Then he unleashed on her. He accused her of watching FOX News. See new video below.

So tonight on O'Reilly Coburn tries to tell Bill that his constituents watch FOX, and if she thought there was a jail penalty, it had to come from FOX. He actually said: "she didn't make that up."

O'Reilly opined that his staff had done their homework and no one on FOX ever said there were jail penalties in the health care law. Coburn didn't know what to say to that.

But here's the real story: In the House bill there was a jail penalty! The Senate took the language out. The woman should have been praised for knowing her stuff. Afterall, how could any of us keep up with the thousands of pages in the House bill, in the Senate bill, and in the House reconciliation bill? It was very difficult to know what actually passed - as Pelosi warned us by saying, "we need to pass health care so you will know what's in it."

Either Coburn is ill informed or disingenuous. He is my Senator. Most of the time I am very proud to have him represent me, but his attitude was unfortunate. He owes an apology to the woman and to all Conservative Oklahomans, whom he seems to think knows nothing unless we get it from FOX News.

Open Letter to Tom Coburn on Health Care and Nancy Pelosi

After Senator Tom Coburn's (R-OK) imperious townhall in Oklahoma this week, I have sent him the following email. My readers are telling me they have done the same. See the details of what transpired in this article. See a video below.

Tom Coburn
Senator Coburn,

When your constitutient asked you about a prison sentence for failure to buy health care, or failure to pay the penalty fine, your answer should have been this:
"The House of Representatives put a prison penalty in their bill. The Senate took it out. Nancy Pelosi tried to impose a prison penalty, but the Senate denied it."
That works if it is the truth. How would we know what the reconciliation bill has in it? We can hardly distinguish between the final reconciliation and prior attempts. We pay you to know and explain it when we ask.

You were disrespectful of the woman asking the question. In fact, you were dismissive and cheeky, and while it is your job to enforce "Pay-an-Go," it is not your job to judge our opinions about Nancy Pelosi. When you ask: "Do you know her? Have your met her?" Well, of course, only few of us have, but we do pay attention to just about every move she makes, when the press will report it. As a taxpayer and voter who voted for you as a servant of the people, please know that I pay attention. I understand what she has attempted to do, and while she is driving her philosphy, I am doing the same. The difference is, her philosophy increases her power. Mine does not increase my personal power, - mine protects my liberty, and yours, through the U.S. Constitution.

Why snipe at FOX News - twice? When someone disagrees with you, do you need to blame it on ignorance and being a FOX-follower? If so, that is despicable. I have been a long-time supporter. I hope you can get the priorities of the people in the proper perspective, and show them the proper respect, whether you agree or not.

California's Grapes of Wrath: Oklahoma's Growth, Beautiful Homes, Rolling Hills

A March 11th report says California's jobless rate was 12.5% in January. In 8 of the state's counties the rate is 20%. Michael Roston at True/Slant points out it's Grapes of Wrath in reverse. The State of Oklahoma with beautiful homes and verdant rolling hills is growing and the people were smart enough to give President Obama his biggest rejection in the 2008 elections - even with a Democrat Governor.

Grapes of Wrath

From the L.A. Times:
New county-by-county figures released by the state wednesday show that in eight counties, more than 1 in 5 people were out of work. Moreover, revised numbers for last year show that fewer people were employed than was previously believed.
Jobless rate by counties:
Los Angeles 12.3% (January)
Orange 10.1% (February)
Inland Empire 14.1 (January)
Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario - 15% (January)
Merced - 21.7%
Imperial - 27.3%

By contrast, jobless rates in Oklahoma's two largest cities:
Tulsa Metro: 6.8%
Oklahoma City Metro: 6.4%

Stephen Levy, the director of the Center for Continuing Study of the California Economy is perplexed and mystified California is not seeing job growth. Maybe this is a clue:
February 19, 2009: The budget deal the Legislature reached today will keep California's top personal income tax rate and sales tax rate the highest in the Union.
The agreement will raise personal income tax rates by 0.25 of a percentage point across the board, beginning with the current tax year. The highest rate, on taxable income of more than $1 million, will rise to 10.55% from 10.3%
The next-highest tax rate, on taxable income of more than $94,110 for a married couple filing jointly, will rise to 9/55% from 9.3%. For singles, the threshold for the 9.55% tax rate is $47,055.
As for sales taxes, the budget deal will push California's base rate to 8.25% from the current 7.25%. Those rates don't include taxes added by individual cities and counties.
Here is a snippet from an interesting comment on the LATimes article:
I was flabbergasted by your folly to al but idle the Central Valley last summer over some small fish [Delta Smelt]. By now you should be canning what you gathered in, selling what you produced worldwide, filling granaries worldwide (again) with your bounty, getting the lands ready for another bumper yield, refurbishing your water supplies, gathering in the winter wheat, and refertilizing the fields for another simply glorious harvest which the almighty has enabled you to do better than almost any other areas anywhere.
When you live in Oklahoma, and consider the state home, no matter your roots, you take a lot of teasing but it's not difficult to square-your-shoulders and put on your "what-you-don't-know is pitiful" face. We don't have oceans and our mountains are smaller, but not small. Of 4 primary mountain ranges, two are considered "major" mountainous regions falling between the Rockies and the Applachians [the Ozarks and the Quachitas]. We have, however, very tall "hills."

We are among the most geographically diverse states with are one of four home to more than 10 distince ecological regions within our borders - more per square mile than in any other state - 8 of these regions in the eastern portion of the state.

We have gorgeous lakes and 55,646 miles of shoreline.  The Eastern portion of the state, where Tulsa is located, 90 miles northeast of Oklahoma City, is green and lush with rolling hills...no dry, dusty or red soil in the Tulsa area. Tulsa has some of the most beautiful homes to be found in any land-locked state, and the prices per-square footage are amazingly low, in exceptional neighborhoods.

Both Tulsa and Oklahoma City were ranked in the Top Ten Best Places to Live 2009. We have tornadoes but we do not have earthquakes. We have beautiful sunsets, hot summers but not nearly as hot as many places, and in general our winters have a couple of harsh cold snaps with ice and snow, and it's over. Golf courses are busy all winter in many places in Oklahoma.

We have one of the fastest growing economies in the nation, and we rank among the top states in per capital income growth. We are 2nd-largest producer of natural gas, the 5th-largest producer of crude oil and we are proud to be home the 2nd-largest number of active drilling rigs. Without oil production, and where would this country be? Our energy costs are the 10th-lowest in the nation. Those employed in the oil-gas sector, average an income of twice the state's typical annual income. Oklahoma City is home to the 4 largest private-oil-related companies in the nation. All of the state's Fortune 500 companies are energy related.

We do not have the worst schools in the nation, as some might think, and any discerning parent can get their child into a good performing school. Contrary to popular belief, we are NOT the most obese state in the union, and our children's "fattness" falls 33rd among all states. Oklahoma University and Tulsa University rank among the nation's best for academic ratings. Six of our state universities were among Princeton Review's list of 122 regional colleges in 2007. Oklahoma is proud of some of the finest athletes and athletic programs in the country.

We cannot buy wine or beer in grocery stores in Oklahoma. It's an embarrassing flaw that voters can't seem to fix. We have to endure it, but...we have Quik Trips...the best convenience stores to be found anywhere on earth. Southern Living magazine likes Oklahoma homes.

Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck in Tulsa

For 3-1/2 hours, 5,000 Oklahomans in Tulsa's civic center confirmed their deep commitment to defeating the Democrat agenda in Washington, D.C. Oklahoma, the reddest state in the Nation, which long ago elected the the reddest (most conservative) Senator, Jim Inhofe, were enthusiastic participants in "Taking Our Country Back," and this Tulsan had to miss it because of foot surgery! The good news is, I'll at Sean Hannity's Freedom Concert in August.

Sarah Palin in Tulsa

Glenn Beck in Tulsa

According to the Liberal Tulsa World, which says the audience was 6000-large, Beck and Palin were calling for "Americans to "demand a smaller government that adheres to the principles of founding fathers." This from Palin:
"There is no need for a fundamental transformation of America...."
Beck said progressives are for revolutionary government intrusion and they misinterpret the Constitution as a living document:

God bless Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck. These are the issues and our future depends on taking our country back.

The first video is Beck. Note how quiet the audience is as Beck gets into his presentation. The second video is Sarah.

Tulsa's Jim Inhofe on State of the Union: Obama Lies are Eloquent (video)

Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK) was interviewed by Tulsa 740-KRMG's Joe Kelly, and as always, was bluntly honest in his assessment of Obama's State of the Union address. See video below.

Inhofe said after Bill Clinton's first State of the Union address, his thought was: "This guy can say things that aren't true with greater conviction than anyone I've ever seen...but Obama is better!"

When he says things that he knows are not right, we know these are his weakest points, and he tries to make them into his strongest points, things like we will do our work openly. Everybody knows, Joe, that all these deals on his government-run health care were done literally behind closed doors."
Listen as Inhofe says Obama is" incredbily eloquent" and then mentions that people around him stand and applaud, knowing that what the President says is not true. While I cannot put words in the Senator's mouth, what he is saying is, the President is an eloquent liar.

Inhofe, a member of the Senate Armed Services committee was shocked that national security took only 7 minutes of his 70 minute speech. He mentioned Obama's supposed bogus restrictions on lobbyists. The Lonely Conservative has that story.
