De-STEMPELWINKEL and DOMINOART

I have been at it again...... how many of us doodle whilst on the phone?
Knowing i had my DT piece for today at De-STEMPELWINKEL  to make,on Sunday i knew i'd be on the phone with a friend for a while....so i was prepared.... i had two ATC'S ready cut and stamped..... picked up the phone...talked for 3 hours and these are the end results.

I glazed over the images to give them some depth.... next time you're on the phone....

DOMINOART  has been celebrating the 15 days of HALF-O-WEEN and i made this for day #14
which was yesterday but the project is still there and the voting has a couple of days to run.....

 I never need much encouragement to use my POE stamps from SMEARED INK....

 The dominos on the front have the real rubber image ...

 ....inside has the digi image and GRAPHIC 45 papers....

 I just love making little books.....so making a little book of Poe is my idea of crafting heaven :)

Ah, Beloveds !! ... The sisters of darkness at SMEARED & SMUDGED FORUM hath again set forth Challenge #5 to all who toil in Design Teams for other Masters and Mistresses. They doth challenge us to bring forth our most accomplished works and do battle against each other.

Forsooth - such cunning a theme was laid down this time by the Victors of the last Challenge..... Us at QUOTH THE RAVEN.... YaY...  the Challenge hath been dubbed "TOOTH & CLAW".
The Minions of The Master hath risen again to the quest and hath produced fineries that doth astound the eye......
The Mistresses of the master, Ike and I dont do straight have produced glorious works and below is my offering....

The amazing Dragons foot is a digi image from IKESART..... 9x layers. coloured with promarkers,

 fussy-cut , decoupaged, then dipped in my melting pot. 

The brooch has hand -crochet lace, rolled ribbon flowers and 3x (faux) dragons teeth suspended from chains.

If thou hast a hankering to enter such a Quest, thou must compete in Teams of 3 under the title of thy masters' realm and, having submitted thy creation, thou shalt be judged by thy peers and votes cast Here. Just wanting to share my post from yesterday on the Designers blog..... but totally forgot after i got into a complete pickle posting to de-Stempelwinkel.

                            I had a very relaxing couple of hours doing this..... i love to doodle.

SMUDGY ANTICS and HDH MACABRE MONDAY

Welcome back for another fortnight challenge with SMUDGY ANTICS!

For this challenge we want to see more than just paper, glue and ink.
We want to see feathers or fur or a combination of the two.  We want to you guys and gals to create projects that make us want to reach through the computer screen and touch everything we see!  The more creative the better.  We love it when you guys and gals think outside of the box and make something with that extra "WOW" factor.

Of course we must address the fine print.  Although the focus of the challenge is to use FEATHERS and or FUR, you must still use a stamped image (real or digi) and you must follow the rules posted on the left sidebar of the challenge blog to be in the running for a prize.  Collage sheets may be used to enhance your project, but they do NOT count as a stamped image so make sure you use a stamp of some sort in your final piece.

I have another note book to share today..... the image is printed onto cotton, coloured with promarkers and tea stained. I've used fur (fabric) faux leather, string, beads and feathers. A few staples as i like the look of them and for added strength.
I hope you'll join us this fortnight at SMUDGY ANTICS.....you can you both FUR AND FEATHERS or just one of them. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can create.

Macabre Monday challenge is :

Emergency Embellishment

pick your favourite embellishment, and use ONLY that embellishment on your project.



I dont usually use many embellies anyway, so i wnt with just black gems on thes note cards.
I used Poe from SMEARED INK, stamped onto pink and green paper.... cut my images into 3x pieces and matted and layered with black.... rather different for me and Poe i expect..... i am trying to broaden my creativity these days.

DOMINO ART

DOMINOART is having its annual 15 days of  'HALF-O-WEEN' 

Today is day #9 and my turn to share a Halloween inspired project with you.

This is a box of weird/macabre/ or just plain ol'creepy 4 piece jigsaws.

I gave the box a very distress paint effect.... the 8x domino's are stamped

using real rubber stamps from SMEARED INK'S 

QUOTH THE RAVEN set.... coloured with promarkers and sealed

with diamond glaze.

I neatened the edge of the domino's with black ribbon and trimmed 

the top edge with black gems. I put a ribbon through the hole on the front edge

to make it easier to pull open.

Above and below are the jigsaws.... 4x4 pieces, and altered both sides with

images or scenes i have created using various companies stamps and digi images, that i scanned,

then adhered to my jigsaw pieces.

Below you can see what i started with.... much more my style now,

me thinks!

ALTER A PLAYING CARD/S

This is my inspiration piece that blogger refused to let me post last week,

i call it ''DEATH CARDS'' as my old Grandad who died when i was in my 20's

was very superstitious and believed that the ace and queen of spades dealt

together in a hand was a death omen.

I have used lots of bits and pieces i have made from clay, modeling paste,etc,

painted it black and then rubbed over with gilding paste. I have used 3 images from SMEARED INK

AS DEATH , digi set, if you look closely below you can just see them amongst the crackle effect.

DELICIOUS DOODLES

It's time for another new challenge at DELICIOUS DOODLES and our theme is........................

LACE.

This is a bit different for me but its all made from scrap so maybe its not so different really.

Everything is salvaged, the book is made from heavy duty card from the back of paper pads,covered in left over fabric, the pages are the inner bits from gift wrap rolls, you know the ones that dont actually have a tube, its just thick brown paper rolled. The envelopes are so old that the sticky no longer sticks.The fabric, lace, ribbon and pearls are all bits i have reclaimed....even the mount for the gorgeous PEGASUS was a broken brooch.

This is a 12''x 8'' mixed media canvas using a gorgeous image from SMEARED INK. I used an image transfer technique that i hadn't tried before on such a large scale ....  i'm pleased with the result.... although i should have remembered to flip the image before i printed it out...DUH! The imaged is framed with alsorts of bits and bobs, loads of paint,pastes and various stuff was used in the making of this piece but the main thing was time.... 3days including drying time.... why can't stuff dry instantly?

Now not the sort of guy you would use as a muse to tell your kids their bedtime stories but for this challenge lets get sick and twisted and use the unhealthy mind of Stephen King as inspiration.  You can use his books, movies and comic books as your muse.

I went for the book NEEDFUL THINGS...... and made a curio shop front.

Knitting in a basket from the execution of Marie Antoinette.

Nelson's lost eye and Dragons teeth.

Rare base ball cards.... these were in the book as was the carnival glass lamp shade.

Kindling from the fire that burnt to death Joan of Arc.
Of cause i just had to add a small Poe piece!

Wood from Noah's ark.... in the book....  and loads of other curious needful things.
