Spellbinders | NEW RELEASE | Beads of Friendship Collection

Hello, crafty friends! I'm back with a card featuring new release products from Spellbinders and this one features the Beads of Friendship Collection inspired by Taylor Swift. Even if you aren't a Swiftie, you may have grown up in the late 80s and early 90s making friendship bracelets and sneaker pins to adorn your wrists and sneakers!

Simply based on the nostalgia alone, I'm absolutely smitten with this beautiful collection and had so much fun creating with all the hands (you know me) and bracelets. I could literally sit for hours assembling these and there are so many colour options!

The sets featured here are the Heart Hands Etched Dies and the Bestie Sentiments Press Plate & Die Set. I finally got my hands on Concord & 9th's Neutrals Assorted Cardstock Pack and couldn't wait to use it with these hands. I love that they made custom colours just for skin tones and that makes it easy to create with! I used Cocoa for the top layer and Espresso for the shadow.

For the beads of the bracelets, I used Dragonfruit, Poppy, Gold Coins, Juniper and Silver Glitter cardstock. The bracelet comes with a shadow piece but I didn't use it here, opting to layer two bracelets on each wrist. If you use the shadow, only one bracelet will fit. You could also keep it simple and add a single bracelet or make it asymmetrical. It's easy and fun to customize!

The sentiment from the Bestie Sentiments Press Plate & Die Set was heat foiled using Matte Silver Hot Foil on Juniper cardstock and I added a shadow cut from Silver Glitter cardstock. I popped the hands and sentiment on black foam squares after creating my signature background from Gold Coins, Fog and Snowdrift cardstock.

Spellbinders | Holiday Cards and Tags feat. Essential Holiday Collection by Lisa Horton

I'm back with some Spellbinders projects featuring the Essential Holiday Collection by Lisa Horton. One of the products featured on all of these projects is the Nested Tree Frames and I was immediately enamoured with the adorable layered tree die!

The Nested Tree Frames includes four layers of frames and I used the two largest frames here, in Mahogany and Crimson. I cut the tree from Pink Sand, Ruby Linen, Silver Glitter and Mahogany cardstock.

Before assembling the card, I used Mulled Wine ink to press the sentiment from the Essential Tag Accessories Press Plate on to the previously die cut rectangle from Nested Tree Frames. I cut an A2 panel of Ruby Gingham for the card base before popping on the frames and trees with foam squares.

For my second card, I wanted a pop of colour to contrast the first card so I chose Waterfall for the card base. I added texture using the Sparkling Snow 3D Embossing Folder. Next, I die cut the Nested Tree layers from Pink SandRuby LinenRuby GinghamCrimson and Mahogany cardstock. The ornaments I added to the trees were cut from Silver Glitter cardstock.

I heat foiled this beautiful sentiment from the Glitter Wishes Glimmer Hot Foil Plate using Espresso Bean Hot Foil on Snowdrift cardstock and die cut it using one of the fishtail dies from Mini Everyday Sentiments

I was so excited to see a tag set as part of the Essential Holiday Collection and the Essential Tag Accessories Press Plates will get lots of use! I used the same colours from the first two cards, switching up the look of the trees with colourful snowy trims. I rotated the colours for the tags themselves so each tag would feature all the colours.

The sentiments from the Essential Tag Accessories Press Plate were heat foiled with both Espresso Bean Hot Foil and Matte Silver Hot Foil. The 'O Christmas Tree' sentiment was a little long for the die cut so I used partial die cutting to extend it. To finish, I combined Valentine's Day baker's twine and silver metallic cord for the perfect match.

Spellbinders | Peace on Earth feat. Sealed 3D Christmas Collection

Today's card features the Sealed Poinsettia Stems from the Sealed 3D Christmas CollectionI don't think I've made a card this clean and simple in years but I'm loving it and don't know why I don't design this way more often. After all, it was my signature style many years ago when I first started blogging. For instance, these two cards come to mind: Smarty Pants and Merry Fitness. I'll always love them! ;)

One reason I wanted to keep this card so simple was to show off the stunning pressed poinsettia and foliage. Using the same colour palette as my corresponding guest post on the Spellbinders Blog, I cut the card base from the Nested Postage Labels from Poppy cardstock and the stitched mat from Nectar cardstock. Before adhering the stitched mat to the card base, I pressed the Sealed Poinsettia Stems with coordinating Nectar ink.

Next, I used heat foiled one of the sentiments from Sealed Poinsettia Stems with Speckled Aura Hot Foil on Juniper cardstock and die cut it using the coordinating die. I wanted to add a bit of Tidepool into this card so I created a shadow using the slightly larger circle from Bouquet Full of Joy. I tied a bow using the Vivant Circle Metallic Cord and popped on the sentiment with black foam squares. Bouquet Full of Joy is a very similar set to Sealed Poinsettia Stems and includes the stunning heat foiled bow you see in the sneak peek below.

If you missed my last post, I also shared a set of holiday gift boxes on the Spellbinders Blog today. Be sure to head to that post HERE for more inspiration. You can also find a full visual supply list on my blog HERE.

Spellbinders | Three Same But Different Halloween Cards feat. Woof-or-Treat

Hello, crafty friends! Do you ever sit down to start a specific project but get sidetracked and feel the need to do something else instead? These cards were made under those exact circumstances. I started putting away the cards I made for my Happy Haunting Collection Spellbinders Guest Post and just had to use some of these products and the same colour palette again.

The focus of all three cards is the Woof-or-Treat dies. They're supposed to be puppies but to me they're capybaras, which my family is completely obsessed with right now. Besides, baby capybaras are called pups. ;) We even got Jellycat Clyde as soon as it was released - mind you, it was so popular, we had to wait until its third production batch!

Right now, I'm completely obsessed with the Perfect Touch Rectangles and used the largest one (A2-sized) on this card, cut from Eggplant cardstock. I heat foiled the sentiment Skully Press Plates using Matte Silver Hot Foil.

The pups on this card were cut from Slate Gray cardstock, their ghost sheets were cut from Fog, their legs and noses were cut from Pink Sand, and the pumpkin baskets were cut from Meadow and Peacock cardstock, and Glitter Bright Green and Glitter Teal foam sheets. The tiny decorative bats are from the Haunted House set and was cut from Onyx cardstock.

This second card also features the Perfect Touch Rectangles but I used the second largest cut from Spiced Cider cardstock so I could use a border of patterned paper. I wish I had the Spider Web Background so I was happy to find Boo Pumpkins which features a great webbed design on the back. It wasn't quite dark enough so I used Black Soot Distress Ink on the edges.

This time, the pups were cut from Pale Rose cardstock, their ghost sheets were cut from Snowdrift, their legs and noses were cut from Pink Sand, and the pumpkin baskets were cut from Meadow and Peacock cardstock. The witch's hat is from the Witchin' Heels set and was cut from Glitter Teal foam sheets.

The sentiment is from the Halloween Icons Press Plates and it's one of my favourite Halloween sets with the best sentiments. I heat foiled this sentiment using White Hot Foil on Onyx cardstock. I love the clean look, as if it's white embossed but so much easier!

My last card also features one of the September 2024 Monthly Club Kits from Spellbinders. I don't normally showcase the 3D embossing folder but, to my delight, this amazing "Pumpkin Patch" 3D Embossing Folder of the Month was included in my package this month. Club Kits close on the 27th of each month so get them while you can!

The first step was to mist water on the Onyx cardstock, emboss it with the Pumpkin Patch 3D Embossing Folder and let it dry. I die cut the pups from  Spiced Cider cardstock, their ghost sheets were cut from Pale Rose, their legs and noses were cut from Pink Sand, and the pumpkin baskets were cut from Meadow and Peacock cardstock, and Glitter Bright Green and Glitter Teal foam sheets. The sentiment, also from Halloween Icons, was heat foiled Matte Silver Hot Foil on Peacock cardstock.

These pups are cute enough on their own but I had to use wiggly eyes on all of them to amp up the cute factor! They come in various sizes and you can also get enamel eyes for a different look. I hope you enjoyed this post featuring three same but different cards featuring the Woof-or-Treat pups! My son's favourite is the one with the Pumpkin Patch background. Which one is yours?

Here's a list of monthly club kits I share, as well as some of the value kits offered by Spellbinders:
