Catherine Pooler | *NEW* Party Ink Release Follow-Up

I wanted to share one more card following Catherine Pooler's *NEW* Party Colors on Wednesday. If you missed the Sweetest Ink Hop, please head over to Instagram HERE. The deadline to comment for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate is 11:59pm EST on Monday, March 18, 2024! You can also click on the badge below and it will take you there, too.

Now that you've been fully introduced to Creamsicle, Lemon Sorbet and Frosted, which one is your favourite? I've been addicted to peachy shades lately and I absolutely love orange as a colour so I would have to say Creamsicle but Frosted definitely runs a close second!

For today's card, I really wanted to use the Creamsicle Gingham from the Spring Gingham Patterned Paper. It's my favourite out of the entire paper pack. The ink colours I chose for the Daffodil Blooms are older colours that came together by accident but shows you how amazing the new colours mix with others.

I'm absolutely in love with this colour palette of Creamsicle, On the Lake, Lilac and Royal Treatment! As before, I also added a tiny bit of Lemon Sorbet to the stamped bee. This design is really giving me birthday vibes so I would love to stamp more of these daffodils, switch out the sentiment, and make some birthday cards.

To create the opening for the daffodils, I used the largest of the Nested Oval Dies and stamped the sentiment in two colours before popping up the frame with foam strips and attaching the daffodils and stems. To embellish the card, I used seed beads from the Salt Lake City Sequin Mix to create stamen for the daffodils.

Spellbinders | February 2023 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit

This month's Glimmer Hot Foil Kit - Tulip Border is so pretty and perfect for spring! I can't remember the last time I used my Copic markers but I'm glad that this kit allowed me to do some quick colouring. I made two cards using the same colours but in very different ways.

This first card features the Glimmer Hot Foil Kit - Tulip Border in the most traditional sense. I heat foiled the tulips using Matte Gold Hot Foil on Neenah heavyweight cardstock. Then I used Copic markers (all colours are listed below) to quickly colour them.

After cutting both the blue and tulip panel with the third-largest die from the Precision Layering A2 Etched Dies, I heat foiled the sentiment using Matte Gold Hot Foil. Then I used this month's 3D Embossing Folder - Spring Burst to partially emboss the panel.

I find the way the blue panel was partially embossed, it looks a bit like rain clouds but that just adds to the spring showers ideology. I love the added texture which compliments the tulips. To finish, I attached both panels to a green card base.

My second card uses the same colours but with colour blocking. It's true, I will avoid colouring whenever possible so this is my kind of card! I basically cut strips of cardstock and taped them together before heat foiling the tulips with Matte Gold Hot Foil.

Similar to the first card, I used the Precision Layering A2 Etched Dies to cut the white linen and tulip panels. After heat foiling the other sentiment from this set on the white linen panel, I glued them to a blue card base.

I never get tired of heat foiling and I love looking at the shine! Using a different hot foil colour would provide a completely different look to these beautiful tulips and I can't wait to experiment more with this month's beautiful Tulip Border.

Be sure to check out the Hot Foil Plates that are part of the ongoing Clearance Sale. Some of my favourites include the Glimmering Autumn Woods (samples HERE, HERE and HERE) and the Glimmering Build a Banner (samples HERE and HERE). Find these and more HERE or by clicking on the image below.

Here's a list of kits I share each month and some of the value kits:

VIDEO | Taylored Expressions | Fresh Floral Cards feat. Garden Variety Dies

Today's Second Chance Release from Taylored Expressions includes past monthly freebies and products that were exclusive to fall's Stamp Joy events! The products I'm featuring in my latest video feature the latter and include the Garden Variety Dies, Garden Variety Bouquet BuilderAntique Pails Dies and Rustic Pail Die. All of these products are sold together in the Garden Variety Bundle and includes a drip drop freebie from January 24-29, 2023.

It takes me a long time to get floral arrangements just right so I cut out all the dies from white cardstock first and played with them behind-the-scenes. Once I knew how I wanted the arrangements to look, I knew how many colours I needed and chose accordingly. Colours included in these projects include: Mint Julep, Granny Smith and Cilantro for the leaves and foliage; and Salt Water Taffy, Spearmint, Lavender Glaze and Eggplant for the flowers.

My first A2 card features the Garden Variety Dies and Rustic Pail Die on a Sugar Cube card base with a silver foil mat cut with the Petite Scallop Rectangle Stacklets, and a Spearmint mat cut with the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets.

After assembling the floral arrangement with a combination of tape and liquid glue, I pop it on to the Spearmint panel with foam tape and add a few Matte Silver Enamel Dots, also new to the shop!

I pulled a few sentiments from my Simple Storage for Simple Strips, which came in handy for these projects. This particular sentiment from Mini Strips - You're the Best was white heat embossed on Black Licorice cardstock and die cut using the Mini Strips - Asymmetrical Die.

My second card is in a mini slim size and features a Mint Julep card base with details created with two of the Diagonal Stitch Mini Slim Stacklets. The two thin frames in Sugar Cube and Spearmint were cut from the  Mini Slim Thin Frame Cutting Plate.

The combination of the large bouquet created with the Garden Variety Dies and the tall Antique Pails Die lends itself nicely to a mini slim card size. Once again, I added Matte Silver Enamel Dots to the centres of the flowers, leaving the bottom flower empty since an odd number always looks best and the pail balances out the large cluster of silver dots above.

This particular sentiment is from the Mini Strips - Easter was white heat embossed on Black Licorice cardstock and die cut using the Mini Strips - Asymmetrical Die. I made sure to feature all seven of the colours, aside from Sugar Cube and Black Licorice, on each card, ensuring a balance and to create the perfect set should I choose to gift these as such.

My third and final card for today's video is another A2 design. It features a Spearmint card base, a Mint Julep frame cut from the Frame in Frame 2 Cutting Plate, and a Sugar Cube insert detailed with the Diamonds Piercing Plate.

I absolutely adore the shape of this Antique Pail because it allowed me to come up with a creative floral arrangement. I just love the way these Garden Variety Dies sit in there so nicely. It was also satisfying to find the perfect placement for the Matte Silver Enamel Dots.

Again, this sentiment is from the Mini Strips - You're the Best and white heat embossed on Black Licorice cardstock, then die cut using the Mini Strips - Asymmetrical Die. Who wouldn't love a card with this sentiment? ;)

Catherine Pooler | Ex Libris Collection | More Inspiration

Today, I have more inspiration using Catherine Pooler's Ex Libris Collection and FOUR NEW Spa Collection: Apothecary Inks which are now available for purchase. Once again, I combined products from the Gardener's Treasures Bundle, including the Dried Treasures Stamp Set, Gardener's Notebook Patterned Paper and Nested Hexagons Dies.

I used the ink-to-paper technique on three pieces of premium cardstock with Terracotta, Eucalyptus and Tranquil ink pads. After they dried, I used three pairs of Nested Hexagons Dies to cut the frames, which are three layers high for dimension. I used two sheets of Gardener's Notebook Patterned Paper, a strip of silver cardstock and images stamped with Dried Treasures. The sentiment is from the Best Place stamp set and I embellished with sequins from the Tinseltown Sequin Mix.

Pigment Craft | Happy Spring Card

Happy Spring! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend ringing in Spring! Even though we had a bit of rain and fog, I was happy it was fairly mild. I can definitely feel that spring is coming and it's the perfect time to share a spring card using more products from Pigment Craft's March 2022 Release!

This card uses my favourite set from the release, Spring Basket with must-have coordinating dies, and I say that loosely because it's so hard to choose a favourite. However, I do see myself using this set year round which is why it's at the top of my list. Of course, you can't have spring without these gorgeous eggs from the Eggcellent stamp set.

I stamped the basket with Monstera ink and the ribbon with Tajine and Blush. The five eggs were stamped with BlushTajine, TurmericLagoon, Juniper, Ficus and Monstera. I really loved seeing all these colours come together on the floral eggs! I attached all the eggs together with a combination of liquid glue and glue dots. I then glued the basket on top of the eggs and attached the ribbon with glue dots. I stamped the sentiment in black before popping the assembled basket on to the Dashed Diamonds II Cover Plate with foam tape.

VIDEO | Taylored Expressions | Social Butterflies Trio

Hello, friends! I hope you're enjoying this lovely week. The weather here has been so beautiful, sunny and warm. It's the perfect intro for this pastel trio featuring the Social Butterflies Cling & Clear Combo, previously an exclusive of Stamp Joy. As always, you can find a full visual list of all the supplies I used to create these cards in the supply links at the bottom of this post.

The colour palette I chose includes Pink Champagne, Potato Chip, Salt Water Taffy and Lavender Glaze. The butterfly outlines and sentiments for the first two cards were stamped with Earl Grey on Sugar Cube cardstock, and the sentiment for the third card was stamped with Sugar Cube on Oreo cardstock.

I used the sketchy lines background image from the Social Butterflies Cling set to create the background. Using the MISTI stamping tool, I positioned it on the panel and turned it 180 degrees so I could get the exact same stamping in two different directions. Then I used liquid glue to adhere small strips of coordinating Pink Champagne, Potato Chip, Salt Water Taffy and Lavender Glaze cardstock on the sizes of the card base to complete the visual rotation of colours.

I used the mini slimline format for my second card and turned it into a shaker by using the Mini Slim Square Window Cutting Plate as the top panel. I cut a panel of the same size to place behind it, where I stamped the same sketchy lines background behind each window in Pink Champagne.

I secured a sheet of acetate to the back of the window panel using Scor-Tape, then built walls with foam tape to house the sequins. To finish, I added the shaker element to a card base cut from Earl Grey cardstock. I added five butterflies across the slimline card, leaving out the Pink Champagne butterflies since that colour is represented in the background.

My last card features the fewest colours of the three but it still makes an impact. I used silver glitter cardstock to create a frame around the top panel. I also used the dies to create offset Pink Champagne 'shadows' for the stamped butterflies.

The butterflies are adhered flat to the panel on the right side, but scored for lift and popped up with foam tape on the left side. I stamped the sentiment with Sugar Cube on Oreo cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

I loved making these cards and it was so fun to play with the sketched lines background image in different ways. That was the image that drove the designs for these three cards, believe it or not! The perfectly imperfect style of the butterflies makes them so easy to create with. This is an incredibly versatile stamp set and would be a great starter set for new cardmakers!

Spellbinders March 2021 Clubs Inspiration Blog Hop + Giveaways

I'm thrilled to be part of the Spellbinders March 2021 Clubs Inspiration Blog Hop! You should've arrived from Virginia Lu's blog and I have the full list of participants below. There are also details on the generous giveaway so be sure to read 'til the end. For this hop, I've used the Large Die of the Month which is quite possibly the most creative and outstanding one of its kind yet!

With 23 dies cutting a total of 31 individual pieces, the March 2021 Large Die of the Month is a fully-emcompassed interactive set but you can use easily them without the interactive pieces to create the most beautiful scenes. I've already featured the cloud and grass dies on my Clear Stamp of the Month card HERE.

Lately, my son keeps talking about sheep, probably because we've been playing a lot of Catan and it's fun to collect sheep so I decided to make him a card featuring a lamb trio. The Large Die of the Month includes elements to make bunnies, chicks and sheep, which is a lot of fun!

Much like my first inspiration card using this month's kits, I used cardstock from Concord & 9th and you can find all those colours listed in the supply links below. I just love the mixability of their colour collection. While spring is usually brighter and lighter colours, I love the vibrancy and richness of this combination.

As I've said before, it's rare that I don't stamp on a card but this kit made it easy to create a combination of sentiments with their three scripted word dies. You can also mix and match these word dies with both the die cut sentiments and stamped sentiments from the other March 2021 kits, just like I did HERE. If you missed any of my posts for the March Club Kits, I've included them at the end of the supply links below.
