Just Magnolia - Week 11

Hello again everyone. I am back. I have finally managed to finish my card for the Just Magnolia challenge - a fantastic sketch from Bev. It was supposed to be for 2 challenges but I never got it done in time for Creative Card Crew (whatever the weather) so it's only for one now, lol! It also would have been done at lunch today if I hadn't decided to make a wee charm thingy to go on it (this idea came from making earrings all weekend. You can see them if you scroll down to the post below). This of course meant that I had to visit a craft shop, lol!

Anyway, less of the nonsense and onto the important things. The image is an old Tilda I've had for ages and is coloured with Faber-Castelle watercolour pencils. Cut the circle on the Bug with Nesties. The frame is cut the same way - just used two sizes of nesties. The border strips are punched with a Fiskars punch. The flowers are all paper from Craftwork Cards punched with three different sized daisy punches. Added a spacer and brad from my stash. The text is from a Papermania set I got free on the Docrafts magazine (last issue). For mcharm, I have used 3 light pink, 3 darker pink and 1 green bead - green one is a wee bit bigger than the rest. I put these on a pin and attached the pin to a chain, then attached the chain to the spacer.

I think that's it. Hope you like it

Something a bit different

Hello everyone! I haven't got a card to show you yet today as I have been quite busy over the weekend. We went to The royal Highland Show on Sunday and I was pleasantly surprised. I hadn't been before so I was expecting to see lots of farm animals and not a lot else, lol! However, there were lots of lovely different things. There were the expected tractors and machinery but most of the stands were allowing the kids to have a sit on them so Steven and Jack were in their element. There was also lots of handcrafted items and Kim managed to find a lovely bracelet and necklace so she was quite happy. Mum found a wee mole for the garden and a handcrafted wooden duck. And, I got a shot of the tombola so that was me sorted. There was also lots of demonstrations - horse show, sniffer dog show, etc. There was so much to see and do and I am sure that we missed lots out. It was really good fun and everyone seemed to enjoy it which was a nice change.
Anyway, onto something a bit different... I visited a wee craft shop in Mussdelburgh on Saturday afternoon, Ashbey Designs. The owner of the shop had been making her own jewellery and I was quite taken with it so I bought a few bits and pieces to have a go.

These are what I came up with and, I enjoyed making them so... I nipped to Hobbycraft on Sunday just before it closed to get some more pins and beads and some long nosed pliers, lol!
The wee crosses are swarovski crystal crosses.

Hope you like them. I will be back shortly with a card for Just Magnolia.

Papertake Weekly, Sketch and Stash & C.R.A.F.T Challenges

Hello everyone! Hope you are all well. I have managed to squeeze another one in today. Doubt that I'll get anything done over the weekend so I was making sure I got this one in, lol! This card is another combo and I have managed to combine 3 this time. Think I might be on a bit of a roll, lol!

The image is a wonderful digital download which was providied by Lindsay (thanks very much for this - it's fantastic) and means that I can enter Papertake Weekly which is 'Delightful Downloads'. Also, as the image is a school one, I can enter the C.R.A.F.T challenge which is to use the picture at the top for inspiration. Since I needed a card for Jack's teacher then this was ideal. I have coloured it with my usual watercolour pencils. The paper is The Paper Company 'Text Message'. CS and black ribbon are from my stash. Corners ar also part of Lindsay's kit. The stars and the sentiment are from a Hampton Art sentiment set. I have also followed the sketch over at the Sketch and Stash Challenge. A great sketch and I have used my neglected paper and also my new digital download.

Hope you like it

Four in One!

Hi everyone! Another glorious day. Been away for a swim this morning again then done some shopping. Wee Steven decided to have a little sleep this afternoon so I managed to start this card. It took me ages to choose what to use for this card then it all just seemed to fit into place. I wanted to take part in four challenges but didn't know how I was going to manage to do them all in time. Now, I have managed them all in one card, lol!

I chose an image and the papers for the Just Magnolia Challenge which is a summer theme. Then, I was looking for a background to go with it and I came across this image that had been sent to me by Mariska and I thought this was more summery. This Butterfly Tilda also has some fantastic wings on her which means it fits the Allsorts Challenge this week - wings. It has been coloured with Faber-Castelle and WH Smith watercolour pencils. The papers are cupcakes 'mini fancies' and blue and green cardstock from my stash. I ran one of the blue cardstocks throught the Bug with the 'tiny bubbles' embossing folder and the other one, I punched with a Fiskars punch at each end. The sentiment is from a Personal Impressions stamp set. And I have followed the fabulous sketch over at Sketch Saturday.

I also wanted to make this card for the Simon Says Challenge this week. The challenge is 'Happy Mail'. We are being asked to make a card or gift for a sick child. Make a child smile by sending them some Happy Mail. Show support for Post Pals or Make a Child Smile.

Hope you like it

Whiff of Joy and Friday Sketchers

Hi everyone. Hope all is well. Gorgeous day here today. This card is for the Whiff of Joy Challenge #35.which is 'paper piecing' and also for the Friday Sketchers Challenge #57 - which is a fantastic sketch by Beatrix. I would also like to enter this for Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge which is a colour combo this week - pink and green. And, the challenge on Creative Inspirations is also 'paper piecing' so, I think that counts as another one, lol!

I have used Basic Grey 'Sultry' papers and some green cardstock. I mounted the back paper onto the CS and then onto the base card. I cut a strip of pink paper and mounted onto some My Minds Eye Bella Bella 'Flea Market' Simply Plaid Paper. Next, I cut a piece of green CS, ran it through the Bug with the 'Bloom Dots' embossing folder and mounted onto the MME paper again. The image is 'Willow with Flower Basket', WOJ - obviously. I have used the MME paper for her trousers, ribbon round her waist and hairband. I used the pink BG paper for her blouse and sandals. Coloured the other parts of the image with Faber-Castelle watercolour pencils. I used stickles for her pearl bracelet. The flowers are from WH Smith with a spacer and mini brad in the centre. I attached a wee flower charm to the back of the brad with jump rings. The sentiment is a wee 'Studio g' clear stamp that I picked up for 99p last week.

I am really enjoying this paper piecing - not sure if I'll ever colour an image again, lol! Just joking - but I am loving it!

Hope you like it

Dawny's Sketch #17 - Take 2

Hi everyone. Hope you are all well. I have just come back from a swim with Wee Steven and my brother. Steven loves the water. I hate it but I love to see him enjoying it so much.

This card has been made for my partners dad for Father's Day yesterday. I loved Dawnys Sketch over at Papertake Weekly so much that I just had to make another one with it.

I used the same papers as the last one but I used green CS instead of purple. The stamp is a new one bought from Crafts @ Home. It's a clear stamp by Autumn Leaves and says 'Dad you're amazing'. Have added a wee bronze coloured brad.

Hope you like it

Stamp with Fun Challenge 11 - Dots

Hello again everyone. We have had a lovely day here in Edinburgh today. I do think it might be going to rain later though - it's very close, no air Anyway, enough of the rubbish.
This card is for the Stamp with Fun Challenge Blog, challenge 11 is 'dots'.

The images are from Alota Rubber Stamps and coloured with Faber-Castelle watercolour pencils. I stamped the large image (2 musical bugs at the back), masked them and then stamped the others (wee bugs at left and right). The papers are Hot off the Press - Citrus pack (I think) - I 'borrowed' them from my daughters stash, lol. They have dots all over them and also I have added dots of gold stickles to the centre of the flowers. The instruments have a coat of diamond glaze over them although you can't really see it in the picture.

Hope you like it.

Just Magnolia and Papertake Weekly

Hello everyone. Not been up to much today. Nipped out to Hobbycrap again to exchange some pencils. Thant's about it. What I have been doing since last night is messing about with this card to get it finished in time. Don't ask, lol!

This one is for 2 challenges again:

Just Magnolia Week 9 ~ Paper Piecing;
Papertake Weekly ~ Dawny's Sketch #17.

The image is Farmer Tilda, from Simon Says Stamp Store, and is coloured with Faber-Castell watercolour pencils. I have paper pieced her dungarees and have added some stickles to her wings and the centre of the flowers. The sentiment is Hampton Arts (AGAIN-I hear you say, lol). Cardstock is Coredinations and the papers are My Minds Eye "Wild Asparagus".

This is a wee view of the side:

This started off as a card and then I thought that the triangle shape looked like a flap so... I thought I would make an image wallet. I messed about with it for ages. I even bought some magnets at Hobbycrap to make the flap stick down... But, it just wouldn't sit right (magnets were rubbish too) and in the end...I gave up!! It is now an image wallet that stays open at the top, lol!

However, after all that, I really like it! I think my colouring is quite good on this one (who's big headed?!) And, I absolutely love her dungarees.
Hope you like it

Penny Black Saturday Challenge,Friday Sketchers and a bit of a rant!

Hi everyone! Hope you are all well. This card is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge which is Birthday Celebrations and for Friday Sketchers #56 which is a fab sketch by a new DT Member, Jeanette. And, I'd also like to add this to the Simon Says Challenge which is to make a birthday card or celebration card since they are celebrating their birthday too. It's their birthday this week and they have organised a fabulous party. Each member of the DT has put together a surprise candy and the challenge has an amazing list of prizes too. To be in with a chance of winning, you must make something for a celebration and post it on your blog. You must then post a comment with a link to your project on the challenge blog. To enter the DT surprise candies you must visit each DT members blog and leave a comment with a link to your creation. So be quick and join in the fun. You can find all the details over on the blog HERE!

My image is coloured with watercolour pencils and cut with oval nesties on the Bug. The papers are My Mind's Eye. They are the Pretty Please range - 'Blossoms' and 'Pink Floral'. The ribbon is Anita's and the brads are from my stash. The sentiment is Hampton Arts again. The flower has been cut on the Bug with a Little Claire's Die. And, obviously, I've followed the sketch.

I've had a very nice but busy week so far. My mum is on holiday this week so we have been out and about whilst the kids have been at school. On Monday, we went to Perth to Stampaholics then onto Linlithgow for lunch and the park with Wee Steven. On Tuesday, we went to Blantyre to Crafts at Home. Both visits were very nice and totally stress free. It was so long since we had been to Blantyre that we spent ages chatting with the staff which took up most of the day, lol. It was great fun though! Today we went to Hobbycraft, or Hobbycrap as Dawny P would say, lol because I wanted something to alter. I did get a wee bag to alter and a few more new watercolour pencils but I was absolutely disgusted with the prices. There were of course things that weren't too badly priced. However, some of the K&Co 3D Embellies were about £6 or £7 when they are only priced at £4 in other places. There was a Cuttlebug Die Set which was priced at £14.99 in Crafts at Home yesterday. In Hobbycrap today... £21.49. Can you believe it?! My jaw nearly hit the deck I can tell you. I think it's absolutely disgusting that they are allowed to get away with this.

Anyway, enough of my moaning. Off to do the dishes now. Should be back tomorrow with another card.

Hope you like this one

Sketch Saturday and Secret Crafter

Hi again. Two posts from me tonight! This card is for two challenges. The first is Sketch Saturday #54 - a sketch by Mandy and the second is for Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #35 - Bling.

The image is a clear stamp from Dimension Forth. I love these stamps and since I got this wee man at the weekend, I have been dying to use him. I have coloured him with my usual watercolour pencils and have added some stickles to his chain (bling). The sentiment is from another clear stamp set - a boys one from Woodware but not sure of exact name. The ribbon is from the Smirk range. The paper is Provo Craft 'Lime and Orange Stripes - Rob and Bob Studio'. CS from my stash. The wee brads (more bling) are from Craftwork Cards and are the kind with no backs on them - have mounted on foam pads. The buttons (even more bling) are Dress It Up buttons and are called 'Backstage Pass'.

I am really pleased with this one. I think the wee boy is great and I think the colours go really well!

Hope you like it

Friday Sketchers #55

Good morning all! How bad is the weather today! UGGHH! Oh well, an excuse to stay in and craft, lol! I have made this card for the challenge over at Friday Sketchers. It is a lovely sketch to follow by Jacque.

I got this wee image at the Artstamps Scotland Exhibition at the weekend. He is by Little Claire Designs. I think he is lovely although I am not sure of him on this card. But, that's just too bad because he is staying! I have had enough messing about with this one without changing the image now as well. The papers are the 'Baby Powder' range by Imaginisce. They are 'Fuzzy Jammies' and 'Bubble Bath'. I love them! I have coloured the image with watercolour pencils. The ribbon is from the 'Smirk' range. The flower is 'Mulberry Street by Petaloo'. I have added a spacer and brad to the centre. The charm is from my stash and attached with jump rings ('borrowed' from Mum) to the ribbon. The strip along the bottom is 'Papermania Ribbon Collection - Baby'.

I thought I'd give the charm and the spacers a wee shot seeing as they look absolutely gorgeous on everyone else's cards. Ha! No one told me that I would be fiddling for ages! So, after messing about with the ribbon and charm and jump rings - and making poor Steven 'stand there and put your finger on that' - it was time to start on the spacer! This took three attempts before I gave up! I got in the car and nipped down to my mums and handed the blooming thing to her! Of course, she done it first time, lol!!! I obviously need a bit more practise. But, I think it was worth it in the end!

Hope you like it!

Lots of thank you's

Hi everyone. This is just a quick post this morning. A few weeks ago, I was chosen as a winner over on the Friday Sketchers Blog and was delighted. The prize was a $25 gift voucher for Simon Says Stamp Store which I quickly spent! Although there are so many gorgeous things to choose from it was a difficult choice. Anyway, the service was fantastic. I placed the order at the end of the week and by the middle of the next again week, the stamps had arrived. I chose WOJ Fall Grass, Farmer Tilda by Magnolia and My Sweet Lili by Sarah Kay. I haven't had a chance to play with these yet but I hope to do so very soon.
Also, there was another sponsor of the challenge blog that week, and that was Alota Rubber Stamps who were giving away 3 beautiful 'bug musicians' rubber stamps and these arrived through my door on Saturday morning.
Thank you so much to both sponsors and thank you to Friday Sketchers Team for putting in the hard work and effort to provide us with a new challenge every week.

I would also like to thank the team at Sketch Saturday for the birthday party they organised last week. It was great fun to play along and it was wonderful to see my name chosen as a winner of one of the candy bags. Thanks Mariska. I am looking forward to this prize arriving as it's a surprise candy bag and I have only had a wee sneak peak. My wee paws are itching, lol.
Thanks again to everyone.

An award

Hi everyone. Hope you are all well. I have been very busy today. We, my mum and I, were away to the Artstamps Scotland Exhibition. I have to say that I wasn't really looking forward to going as last year was absolutely awful. I think there was only about 5 or six stands there and I didn't hold out much hope for this year being much better. But, I am glad to say, I was wrong! It was quite an improvement and we met quite a few people we knew and also some lovely people who were there as exhibitors. And, as it was just the two of us, I actually really enjoyed myself. A very pleasant, stress free day, me thinks! I picked up a few wee bits and pieces and I will hopefully get a chance to play tomorrow. Will hopefully be able to combine a few challenges and have something to show you in a day or two.

Anyway, the reason for this post was not to blether on about a lot of rubbish today but to say a huge big thank you to a wonderful blogging friend who has very kindly given me an award. Thank you so much, Helen!

This award is to show an appreciation of a persons blog support and I am absolutely delighted to receive it. I love to be given these and I also appreciate all of the kindness and the support that Helen has herself given to me. I would like to pass this award onto just one other blogging friend. This is another person who gives a huge amount of support and also, a person who, like myself, really appreciates the support of everyone who visits and takes the time to leave a comment. I would like to give this to Lorraine.

So, thank you to Helen and Lorraine for their continued support and also thank you to everyone who stops by and looks at my cards.

Thanks again
Hugs

Sketch Saturday Challenge #53 - Birthday Week!

Hello to you all! I have been a terrible blogger once again. I can only apologise. First of all, I have been enjoying the wonderful sunshine. We don't get much of it so I was making the most of it. Also, my wee boy hasn't been all that great so he's keeping me quite busy. Anyway, I've managed to squeeze this card in for the challenge over at Sketch Saturday. This one is for their birthday and each DT member is having a candy as well as the usual Saturday Challenge.

For this one, I have coloured my one of the lovely Miss Anya images I was sent by the lovely Helen. Thank you so much for these. I have used Basic Grey 'Bittersweet' papers. Ribbon and pearl brads from my stash. Sentiment is Hampton Arts (again, lol). The image is coloured with watercolour pencils and Distress Inks.

This was my second attempt at this card and also at the image. The colouring on the first image was absolutely terrible so I started again and then, it didn't go with my papers so I had to start the card from scratch, lol!

Hope you like it
