Woodware Stamps on the Telly

Evening Everyone,
Just a quick heads up that the lovely Julia Watts will be on the telly on Saturday with some of the latest stamps designed by Jane Gill.
As you know I am a very lucky girl, and I get to play with all of Jane's designs
when I make the samples for the Creative Expressions catalogue.
I have been trying very hard to use up all the bits and pieces from these play sessions immediately so that they don't just languish unfinished in the 'Bits Box'
The resulting cards are always handy when the stamp sets are subsequently taken on to the telly by Jane or Julia.
It does mean that I am a little ahead in the game, especially when time is short.
I loaned these cards to Jane at Ally Pally, although it is now Julia who will be using them on Saturday.
I hope that you enjoy the shows ( Create and Craft TV Saturday 18th May at 12pm / 5pm)
I certainly had fun playing with the stamp sets.
Happy Crafting and hugs

I hope you All had a very Holly Jolly Christmas

Hello my Crafty Friends.
I hope that you all had a fantastic Christmas, it seems so far away now.
I was at work on the big day, but as I have pointed out to customers I am not totally stupid. We saved more than a few Christmas's for people who found their turkey was still in need of defrosting, or was off and at the end of my shift I got to come home to a dinner that was nearly ready to eat. It's a win win in my book.
I may not have sent any Christmas cards this year, but I still have loads of them that I need to share with you.
We did a class on Zentangle recently.
Now I have to say that I am not very adventurous with it although I am getting a little better with the aid of the numerous books that I have.
I do think though that even the simplest of patterns can turn a very basic card,
into something really quite special.
We are going to make some non-Christmas cards using this technique in class at the beginning of January.
I seem to have rather a lot of holly stamps, from different manufacturers.
This one uses a Woodware stamp set.
The holly on this one is from a Tim Holtz stencil.
White stamping and embossing and a Hobby Art stamp can look so different,
depending on what medium you use to colour them in.
Here I used watercolour Pearlex in silver and white.
This one is a little more traditional in colour.

And this one is a very old Hero Arts stamp which has been used on red card stock.
It is a very solid image which I have used with Sticky Embossing powder, foil and mica powder.
At least I wont have the excuse of not enough cards made next year will I.
Happy Crafting and hugs

Hobby Art Feathers on Hochanda

Morning Everyone,
Happy Saturday. I hope that you will soon be settling down to watch the first of Hobby Art Jenny's shows on Hochanda (Sky channel 663) at 10am, followed by two more at 2pm and 5pm.
I had a fabulous time, as always, playing with the new designs.
Here is just one of the cards that I made.
The central panel has been created by dabbing a dye based inks pad (Denim Kaleidacolour multicoloured pad) onto an acrylic block.
Spritz with water and then place the block on to a piece of watercolour cardstock as if it were a stamp.
Once this panel was dry I stamped and embossed the feather onto it using black Versafine ink and clear embossing powder.
I painted the image with a wet paintbrush and then used kitchen roll to remove the ink.
Once I achieved a depth of colour that I liked I painted the image with a clear Wink of Stella brush.
The background to the card was created using both the sentiment stamped and embossed in black, and another of the feathers from the set stamped with versafine and then dusted with Pearlex Powder.
I hope that you enjoy the shows today.
I look forward to seeing what the rest of the DT have come up with to inspire you. It always amazes me how different everyones creations are.
Have a great day.
Happy Crafting and hugs

How do you Resist some Ironing at Woodware

Morning Everyone,
It is my turn to post over at Woodware today where we are looking at Resist techniques.
My card is another made for Christmas I'm afraid  I am trying very hard to get ahead.
The background to my card has been created by stamping and clear embossing the mistletoe and sentiments onto a piece of white card.
Sandwich the card between some layers of copy paper and use a hot dry iron to remove the embossing powder.
Sometimes more of the powder is removed giving a rather patchy look which I must say I rather like.
Sponge over the resulting card with dye based ink to create a Masterboard which I then cut up to create the basis for several cards.
You can also use the pieces of ironed copy paper to create a similar background.
I have added a black stamped and embossed image which I painted with pearlex.
I also added some dry embossing to this card.
The panels have been mounted onto red card stock and embellished with a sentiment and some peel-off squares.
I hope that you will join us this week and try out some of the resist techniques the the DT have shared with you.
Have a great day.

A card using the Woodware Sketch

Evening Everyone,
Where did the last week disappear to? And I started it off so well.
I have managed to be creative, I just don't seem to have got back into blogging on a regular basis.
One of the cards that I made this weekend is using the latest sketch over on the Woodware blog.
I have turned it onto it's side for my card.
The background to my stamped panel is from my 'bits box' but if memory serves it was made using some sprayed inks, a little bit of pearlex added to the inks and some cling film.
You have to be patient and leave the cling film in place until the panel is completely dry, but I think that you will agree that it is worth the wait.
The stamps are from an old Stampendous set.
You may have realised by now that I am a lover of silhouette flowers and leaves. They go so well with inky backgrounds, another favourite of mine.
The greeting is from the same floral stamp set, in fact there are a number of different sentiments.
The dotty background is from one of the lovely paper pads that Woodware also sell.
Let's hope that I can do a little better in the blogging world next week.
For now, Good Night and a gig hug

Anything Goes with Magenta

Hi All
Have you had a good weekend?
I have been a good girl and have been resting my ankle, which has meant sitting on my bum and crafting. What a hardship lol.
I have to have an x-ray to see if there is any underlying cause for the swelling, but in true NHS style the earliest they can fit me in is Thursday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My card tonight was made using a fabulous old Magenta stamp which has been stamped and embossed onto some Bazzil card stock.
The flowers have been painted with thin undiluted bleach, and then some of them have been painted with Pearlex, and the leaves with dye based ink.
I noticed that Magenta have an Anything Goes challenge running until the end of this month so I thought that I would enter this into it.

A Pearlex Background

Hi All,
How has your day been? We still seem to be suffering with phone and Internet problems, so I have had to pop round to my lovely friend Sylvie in order to get this posted, so it will be another quickie I‘m afraid.
This is another card that I made whilst demoing at SirStampalot.  The background has been created by applying Versamark ink to the inside of an embossing folder before adding a piece of dark grey card stock and running it through my Cuttlebug.
Once embossed I then applied dry Pearlex Powder to the card stock to create a fabulous background.
The panel has been edged with silver embossing powder before the stamped image was added. Some Card Candi and Glossy Accents complete the card.
I hope that we can get this problem fixed quickly, you don’t realize just how much you rely on the Internet until you can’t connect to it.

A leafy panel

Evening Everyone,
Isn't it amazing how quickly the weather turns now that it has decided that it is Autumn. One week it is beautiful sunshine and the next we are looking out winter coats, umbrellas and welly boots!!
Still never mind, the way this year has been disappearing it will soon be spring lol.
I have not really managed anything crafty over the last couple of days, I am trying to get ready for the first of my trips to SirStampalot which means that I am far too excited to settle into doing anything.
Janice has e-mailed me with a list of suggested items for me to play with in my demo on Saturday.
I will finalize things when I get there, all I know for the moment is that I will be playing with Pearlex, one of my favourite things as I have said before.
I have packed all of the Woodware Christmas stamps to play with, among other things, and although this card isn't exactly Christmas it does use Powdered Pearlex on the background card.
The leaf panels have been coloured here using Distress Inks, but could just as easily have been coloured using Watercolour Pearlex.
I will recreate it for the demo on Saturday (using Pearlex) when I get to Peterboro tomorrow. Well I have to have a play don't I :O)
Have a good evening.

With Love from Clarity

Evening Everyone,
Another hot day, are you surviving?
I have a really quick post tonight as I have to be at work at 5am tomorrow, and I should really be sound asleep lol.
This was made for Barbara's last TV appearance at the weekend.
I used the lovely Pear Tree stamp, stamped and embossed in white and then coloured using Distress inks and a little bit of Pearlex.
I punched squares from the stamped image and then layered them over some peel-off lines.
The sentiment is also from Clarity and just goes to show that a stamp designed for Christmas doesn't always have to be used for Christmas :O)
I really must get to bed now or it will be time to get up before I know it.
Night, night

More Pearlex with friends

Evening Everyone
Well it definitely looks like if you blinked you missed Summer!!
I can't believe the longest day of the year is just around the corner, and the weather seems to think that we are back in the Autumn.
It has been raining here for most of the day.
Still at least that is a very good excuse to stay indoors and craft, as if I needed one that is lol.
I have just spent a very enjoyable evening with some crafty friends playing with Pearlex, so I thought that it would be the ideal opportunity to share another of the cards that I made for the class on Saturday.
Once again I used the lovely FRCL200 All Occasions Bloom, black card stock,
 and the Vintage Pearlex Palette.
I added an Embossed panel to the back of the card which I edged with a Versamark ink pad and some Pearlex powders.
The alphabet background stamp has also been covered with Powdered Pearlex.
I have got a couple of days off now so I will be chained to my Craft desk regardless of the weather.
Happy Crafting to you all
Hugs Kimx
