A Dazzle of Zebras at CCM

Afternoon Everyone,
It is my turn to host the new challenge over at CCM
Our theme this time is Animal Magic.
We would love to see your creations based on an animal theme. Please make sure that your project has an animal large enough for us to see, we are excluding insects in this one, so no bugs, butterflies, bees etc. will count as animals. Your project may still have them, but not as the animal, so you will need to add something other than an insect to meet the challenge theme.
My card uses a fabulous stamp with a group of zebras.
I have found various collective nouns for a group of zebras including herd, zeal and dazzle, so you see card making can improve your general knowledge as well!
I stamped and embossed the image onto a piece of glossy card stock which had been brayered with a multicoloured die based ink pad.

The side of the card has been embellished with another stamped and embossed image along with a rather tribal looking button and some threads.
I have to confess that the card was actually made over 10 years ago when I was lucky enough to be asked by Search Press to write a book on Rubber Stamping, and sad that I am I still have all the cards from the book in a drawer as I can't bare to part with them.
I hope that you will be able to join us at CCM for my challenge and that you will visit the rest of the team to see what they have made to inspire you.
Have a wonderful week.

Anything but a Card at CCM

Well as I predicted, my toothache really has got the better of me.
The antibiotics took nearly a week to kick in and I have been popping painkillers like they were going out of fashion, all of which left me feeling sick all the time. How my daughter Becki put up with it for the entire 9 months of her pregnancy I will never know. I could barely manage a week!!
I think part of the problem is that I don't usually take any pills at all so my system is struggling to cope.
I started to feel a whole lot better at the end of last week after another emergency appointment to drain the infection, and my bank balance can look forward to a huge hit when I start treatment for a root canal filling.........oh joy!
On a much happier note Chloe is gorgeous, and Emma is being a very helpful 'Big Sister' despite co-incidentally hitting the terrible twos.
I have been working on Thank you cards for all the wonderful prezzies that the Girls have been given, but as I can't share them yet I though that instead I would show you the picture frames that I made for a recent class.
We have a new challenge starting today over at CCM where our host Angela is looking for Anything But a Card so these fitted the bill perfectly.
I recently held a class where we made picture frames using some old wood mounted stamps.
This frame uses a Magenta stamp which has been coloured in using Watercolour Pearlex.
The floral embellishment is from Stampin Up
This frame uses the same Magenta stamp
and some Hero Art floral stamps.
This frame uses a very old Penny Black frame stamp. It was actually made many years ago but will make a fabulous Christmas gift.
It is the perfect image for some decoupage, although now I would prefer to use silicon glue to attach the cut out images.
I hope that you will find the time to join in with our challenge which runs for the next two weeks, just remember that we are only looking for Anything but a card.
Have a great week.

Fancy Folds for Christmas (And CraftyCardmakers)

Evening Everyone.
I'm sorry, I quite thought that I had posted these pictures to coincide with the Fancy Folds challenge over at CCM last month. Where on earth did those weeks go to?
The cards were actually made for the book that I was lucky enough to write on Teabag Folding, many years ago,
but I figured that as they involved fancy folding they qualified for the challenge.
The folded squares for this tree were created from stamped and embossed images on green paper.
The background panel is a piece of 'Bleedin Art' Tissue.
It has been sprayed with Spray Webbing and then Foil has been added.
This second card was also from the book, and this time the teabag squares have been cut from vellum which has also been sprayed with Gold Spray Webbing.
This time I layered the Tree onto a stamped and embossed panel.
The threads have been wrapped round the panels after the corners have been punched using one of my old favourites, the Southwest Corner punch. At the time of my book all my friends referred to it as the Kim's punch because I used it so much lol.
Better make sure I press send this time or this might sit in the draft folder for another month.
Hope you have had a great weekend.
Thanks for sticking with me. I know that my posts have been rather sporadic just lately, let's hope that I can start to get back to some sort of normality.

She's Here................Can't Believe it's been 2 Weeks Already

She's here, and I'm just sorry that it has taken me so long to share.
After several weeks of false alarms, and constant pain for her Mum, Chloe Reygate Tickle put in an appearance on Monday 23rd October at 11.29pm weighing a very healthy 8lb 8oz.
A first cuddle with Auntie 'Enni' as Emma calls her.
Mum, Emma and Chloe.
 Home at last.
It's all been too much.
 Sisterly love.
Mum just made it out of the lift and into a side room which was fortunately empty otherwise she would have had her on the corridor floor!!!!
No time to move anyone, or observe booking in procedures.
As well as making a Congratulations card from my Mum and Me, one of my many tasks before her birth was to make a card for Chloe to give to her Big Sister Emma.
I was given free rein over what I created, so I chose another cute Whippersnapper stamp from my collection, and did a bit of paper piecing.
I also tried out one of the fabulous Sue Wilson weaving dies to create the background.
'For my' was part of a Hero Arts sentiment, and 'Big Sister' was written with my favourite alphabet die which is also by Sue Wilson.
Of course the beauty of paper piecing is that you end up with plenty of left over images,
so I have several more cards to add to my stash.
I used a combination of Altenew sentiments
and paper pieced images,
as well as a piece of stamped background from my stash.
She may be only tiny, but Chloe had to participate in Halloween.
The hat was a bit on the big side, but the outfit was really cute.
And of course big sister had a great time, she went out to 'Trick or Treat' with the Twins.
The house looked amazing, and this year I even remembered to take a picture before it got too dark.
Now that Chloe has arrived I am hoping that I might get a little more back to normal with things, but at the moment I am struggling with a raging toothache which has necessitated antibiotics and massive amounts of painkillers so that seems like a very vain hope.
Still I have managed a post, so that's a start at least.
Have a great week, I will try and touch base again soon.
