so*kind

Doesn't this card just scream out SPRING!???  I love this layout from Mercy Kerin - MTSC47.  I used  distressing ink on the embossed paper again for this card and added a sprig of leaves with buttons - just like in nature - haha!!

Today a good friend and I are heading to LA to go see a taping of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson!!  I'm uber excited to go see his show!!  Being the night owl that I am, I rarely miss his show and he just cracks me up!  It should be interesting seeing how the only thing I am allowed to bring in to the CBS studio is myself, my ID, and the clothes on my back - which cannot be white or dirty or trashy or ripped or too revealing.  hahah!  I'm serious!  It says so on my ticket!

See you soon!

For my card today I dove into my new pack of Sweet Pea paper - yummolicious!!  I also wanted to make a fun Valentine's card that wasn't the traditional red/pink/white color combo - what do you think?  I just adore this little house image from Love Everywhere and thought it was so cute combined with the little mailbox.

Also, if you haven't played in last week's challenge, there is still time to enter your name to the Mr Linky box!  Since I'm away from my very precious laptop, I haven't been able to close the post.  So hop on over there and give it a go - or enter another card too!

thankful for you

Hiya! Happy Saturday!  I'm notorious for losing older paper packs and that is what happened to this perfectly fall paper.  I found it when I was digging around the bottom of my craft room and much to my delight, I have a ton left!  Anyone else do that??  The layout for this card is SC246. I wanted to try something different that a traditional bow with the ribbon, so I took a little scrap, folded it in half and attached it to the card with a corduroy brad.  Dare I say masculine??  Maybe not with the scallops...  this may be the closest I get to making a masculine card, LOL!

This sketch is perfect for using up those scraps - I had a bunch of this Fall Flowers paper sitting on my desk, so that's what inspired this card.  I stamped the tree in Memento Rich Cocoa and then inked up the leaves with an Old Olive marker.  Of course, I just HAD to use the apron lace punch again too, *wink*!

spring?

Raise your hand if you are ready for spring?  ME, ME!!!!  I'm one of those weird people who really does love winter, there is something that happens when it snows.  The noise of life is muffled and turns peaceful.  I can stay inside wrapped in a snugly blanket and just "be".  The landscape is blanketed with a fresh layer of beauty.  BUT, then it goes on and on and on...  haha!  I think the fact that there has been a sheet of ice in front of our house for about 2 months straight has tainted my view on winter this year.  Every time I leave the house I have to start from a dead stop and spin my wheels up our hill.  Rrrrr, rrrr, rrrr, rrrr...  yep.  Just need one day of about 50 degrees to melt that stuff away and I'll be all happy about winter again.  Alright, on to my warm and springlike card!  This is another card I made for the September Fan Club gallery and it's still one of my all time favorites from my Dirty Girl work.  The color combo of Bashful Blue and Pumpkin Pie totally gets me!  January is my last month as a Dirty Girl, so I'm a bit nostalgic this morning.  My last few cards are sitting in the Gallery right now.  Sad...   Here's a little sneak for what is in store for you in the gallery today...

Ok, I gotta get a tissue...  Thanks for stopping by today.

Key Ingredients Challenge

Yep!  It's time for another Key Ingredients Challenge and boy do we have some extra goodies for you today!   Some of the Baker's Dozen, and some special guest players, have fantastic little projects for you using January's Key Ingredients.  If you haven't already eaten this morning, you may want to grab a little something because today's challenge is to make something food related.  Yum!  I have some fun announcements for you too, so be sure to read to the very end of this post.

For my little project, I wanted to create something fun for a date night "in".  I find it difficult to find time (not to mention the $$) to go out every week with my husband, especially having 3 little kiddos, but we do find time to spend with each other after the kids have gone to bed and have a little date the weeks we don't actually go out.  Other nights, you can find me stamping away, LOL!

I started by stamping the little house from Love Everywhere in Memento Rich Cocoa and again in Soft Sky.  I used a large oval Nestabilities die to cut the oval and then sponged it in Soft Sky and popped the house and heart up on dimensionals.  The house is a cute little symbol for a date night in, don't you think?  Do you see that adorable crocheted flower?  Jodi's mother made them for us to give to you in your kit!  SO much fun!

For my scrumptious bag of Poppycock (cashew lovers, mmmm!), I stamped the little hearts from Love Everywhere in random places all over the front of the Kraft Bakery Bag in Memento Rich Cocoa and then made up a little tag using stamps from other TE sets.  Gotta show them some love too!  The scallop frame is from Luxurious Labels and the sentiment (which I LOVE) is from The Places You'll Go (which just sold out yesterday, so CLICK HERE to be notified when it is back in stock).  So much fun to mix and match!  I used a length of blue ribbon from the Key Ingredients to attach it to the bag.  I can't wait to rip that bag open!!  haha!

Here are some exciting announcements regarding the Key Ingredients Subscriptions and for more detailed information, you can check out Taylor's blog too.

  • A fantastic new website is now available, just for the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients - how fun is that?  Now you can see all the information for the subscription kits right in one spot.
  • Limited Time Subscription Special. Purchase (or renew) a 6 month subscription on or before January 17th and receive a FREE Key Ingredients Kit upon the completion of your 6 month subscription. This kit (a $23.95 value including shipping) will be an exclusive kit that will never be available in the TE Store!
  • Beat the price increase - Increased shipping costs on both our shipments to you and the products we receive from manufacturers have forced us to increase the cost of our subscription. Prices will increase as of January 18th, to $23.95 per month for 6 month subscriptions and $25.95 per month for 3 month subscriptions. However, if you subscribe or renew by January 17th you’ll receive the current pricing of $21.95 per month for 6 months or $22.95 per month for 3 months. You can renew your subscription no matter how many months you have remaining on your current subscription. Your renewal will simply add 3 or 6 additional months. Remember you only get the FREE EXCLUSIVE KIT with the 6 month option.
OK, now you need to head on over to see the rest of the delicious treating waiting for you this morning!  Hop on over to see:

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

happy heart day

Well, it isn't really heart day - but I just couldn't resist getting some happy love cards up on the old blog-O.  And look at that - today is my blog-o-versary to boot!  I can't believe I've been blogging for 2 years!  What a crazy journey it's been - and that is a fantastic crazy.  OK, back to the this delish card.  I started by stamping this fun little tree from Love Everywhere in Memento Rich Cocoa and then added the hearts to it.  I wanted to add some dimension to the main image, so I popped a few hearts up on dimensionals and then stamped and cut out the park bench and popped it up as well.  I love having images overlap the edge of a panel - it makes the card feel more 3-D to me.  I also sponged the Choice Buttercream card stock with Pink Pirouette ink to make it a bit more soft.  The paper and ribbon is from the Valentine Key Ingredients kit, which made this card SO easy to bring together.  No guesswork on what matches - love that.  The layout is from Julee's MOJO121.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  See you back soon -

Taylored Expressions Release Party!

Are you ready to see the last of the 3 new sets available at Taylored Expressions today?!  The Baker's Dozen are showing off the new set Cuppie Love Scenes, which has to be one of my all time favorite Cuppie sets yet, AND it was a concept created by fellow 'baker' Donna Baker!  I am so excited to show you this card - I think it's because I had one of those crafty moments when everything just came together SO easily and when I finished I couldn't stop smiling at this card!  It's such a happy card.

I added some fun elements to it - the clouds are filled in with Sugar Sparkly Fluff to make them look like cotton, haha!  The balloon is paper pieced with My Mind's Eye - Be Loved paper from the Valentine Key Ingredients and the little Cuppies are topped of with little rhinestone "cherries".  I also sponged Bashful Blue ink around the edges of the main panel to create a little sky scene.

Also, a new fun element added to the TE store today are these fun little polymer clay buttons created by Jamie Pyles.  These adorable little buttons are designed to coordinate with the Valentine Key Ingredients and are such a cute little embellishment that stands out!  Want to see more?  Hop on over to see the other cute little buttons and fantastic creations the Baker's Dozen have for you today using Cuppie Love Scenes!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek - Day 2

Good morning!  It is day 2 of Taylored Expressions sneak peeks and today the Baker's Dozen design team is giving you a little peek at a new set in the Whimsical Wishes line called Sprinkled With Love.  Nancy McKinney has designed another amazing set which will satisfy your sweet tooth!  When I saw this cute little cup of frothy goodness, I knew I would make something with it for today's post. I stamped the 'steam' in Memento Rich Cocoa and then cut out the oval with Nestabilities.  While the Nestabilites die was still on the paper, I sponged it with So Saffron ink.  I paper-pieced the cup and added the little sprinkles, then popped it up with dimensional tape.

I am very excited to announce a new shipping policy at Taylored Expressions! All orders of $75.00 or more (in the U.S. only) will receive Free Shipping! Click here to read the shipping policy for international orders and those totaling less than $75.00.

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek - Day 1

Good morning!  It's time to have a little look-see at Taylored Expressions latest release and today I get to show you the set, Love Everywhere!  Taylor challenged us to make a little Valentine treat that would be easy to mass produce and I came up with this little folded treat "bag" for my daughter to hand out to her classmates.

I started out by using some items from the Valentine Key Ingredients.  The patterned paper is Be Loved from My Mind's Eye and I made the little treat holder by taking a piece of 6x2 Be Loved paper and scoring it at 1/2", 2-3/8", 3-5/8", and 5-1/2".  I place a little mini candy bar in the center section with glue dots and folded the paper up around it.  The top 1/2" is taped together, the corners are punched with the ticket corner punch,  and I added a little bow.  I inked up some chipboard hearts, which are also included in the KI this month, and added them to the front of the little treat pouch.

I also made a fun little 3x3 card to coordinate with the treats and used this super cute little balloon and sentiment that perfectly curves over the top of the balloon - love this!  You are going to be completely wowed by this set, so don't dilly daddle - get on over to see what the rest of the Baker's Dozen have cooked up for you today with Love Everywhere!

recipe -

Paper: Prism Red, Choice Buttercream card stock, Be Loved patterned paper (My Mind's Eye)
Ink: Riding Hood Red (Stampin' Up!)
