JV Football games...

Monday night was the first of my nephew Joseph's football games that we have been able to attend. He hangs on the sidelines while we were there, so, of course, after we left, he would get to play have some great tackles.

My Mama

These two? Nothing but trouble...

This one? Well... she comes for the ice.

This one? Trying to state her case as to why she should get to go play with the big kids...

This one? Ate more ice.

Who knew there were so many faces to eating ice out of a cup?

Anyway... we are headed to Hotlanta tomorrow for John's super nerdy Cedia show.. but I have been promised a shopping trip with one fabulous blogger, who has some pretty amazing hair....

Workout Tuesday... FAIL

I got up this morning with every intention of running 3 miles. I was determined to push that jogging stroller, now matter how hot or tired I got for 3 miles. You see, I've been using the excuse, "Pushing the jogging stroller is like running twice the distance." And it is.. but it can't be an excuse any longer. I have to view running with the stroller as part if the training. It will help me run faster. Maybe.

Anyway, this weekend, my back was hurting. Like, really hurting. It has been almost radiating up my spine. Every time I would take a step, it would radiate up my spine and make my lungs hurt. Which sounds weird, but that's what was happening. Plus, I've been having MAJOR headaches. Which I accounted to, lack of caffeine, hormones, and then finally, the realization that I am most likely out of whack and need to go to the chiropractor.

Anyway, it was much better yesterday and I went swimming and felt really great, but today, I set out on my 3 mile run with Claire bear-who is the BEST running partner, and it didn't take two steps for me to feel knives in my lower back. I thought, maybe I can work these out, but two blocks later, I was making the loop back to the car. I couldn't stand it. So, I have a chiropractor appt this afternoon.

And that my friends, is the story of the 3 mile run that wasn't.

Weight Watchers Week 1

So, Week 1 was okay. I really had some moments of actually of trying to adjust my eating. In general, I really like fruits, vegetables, salad, but I am having a hard time with the portion control thing. And craving salty foods. I think it's because I am not drinking enough water, even though, I drink 4-6 glasses a day. I am going to try to bump that up to 6-8 glasses a day.
I started at 150 lb
Week 1: 147

Not bad I don't think. Of course, who wouldn't love to be able to lose 10 lbs in a week, but let's be realistic. I have noticed that some things that I thought were okay to eat ARE NOT. Like, some frozen dinners. Some of those things are REALLY bad for you. And some things aren't that bad. Like some pizza. Yes, I said it. No, it's not pepperoni. It's the Mediterranian Chicken pizza from Papa Murphy's. 4 points a piece.. and when you feed your child half on your food... really not bad at all.

I really hate not being able to eat what I want, but I know that I can't just eat what I want. I have to exercise control over my eating. I know this will get easier over the next couple of weeks, but I am trying to build life long habits here!

Anyway, let's leave you with this shot of Addison that I took over the weekend. I am taking a natural light course in photography, and she really hates to model, but you wouldn't know it by this picture. This is probably my most favorite picture that I have ever taken. Period.

Tailgating with the Tide-- Penn State

This was our first weekend to tailgate and honestly, I am not happy with the way it turned out. We love to tailgate. We love the food and friends and the "football family" that we have. I don't love when that family takes advantage of us and I feel that was done this weekend. We invite people here. We cook and order food and provide a tv for people to watch. Some( NOT ALL) of these people, decided to invite other people. Which, is fine. The more the merrier. But these people that we invited, didn't provide a damn thing to the tailgate.
Not one drink.
Not one dip.
Not one dollar towards the cost of the food.
So, they bring strangers to our tailgate. Strangers that were never introduced to us. That sat in my chair.
That ate my food.
That drank my beer.
All without contributing anything to tailgate.
I looked up at one point and I am serving cake to a Penn State fan. Where did he come from? I didn't invite him.

When we got back from the game, there was trash everywhere. In food containers, just a couple of beers and water left in coolers, and no one helped me clean up. Only Joseph and Tracie helped us break down everything. It was after midnight before we were finished.

I don't like the rudeness that was shown to me this weekend. I will no longer be providing food and drink to ANYONE. And if you come? Please, for the love of God, bring your own chair!!!

Enjoy the pictures from this weekend!

Tracie and Poppy discussing BBQ and the importance of white sauce.

Happy Birthday, Bear!

Robbie-- do not destroy my cake. I will hurt you.

Robbie and Jennifer

Cornhole-- no one played. :(

And then it rained!!!

John... put your finger down! ;)

Sometimes.. it requires concentration.

Hey girl in the background... close your mouth!

My favorite part? Looking at the shakers shaking!

Victory over Penn State!! It was super cool to look out and see JoePa on the field! Penn State fans rock... super nice crowd and they travel well!

Us after the game! ROLL TIDE!

Supa Stressed

Do you ever get super stressed? Like, almost can't cope with life stressed? Yes, well, that is where I am. It seems like so many things aren't going right, and I can't deal with it anymore.

Anyway... I hung up my Nike the other day. Had my last run with them and changed to the Brooks Ghost. It was like running on a cloud! I have a crazy high arch, so I can't wear a lot of shoes.

And after my run I treated myself to a delicious strawberry smoothie... Fresh strawberries, milk, ice, and vanilla protein powder. Yum!

I also bit the bullet and joined Weight Watchers last night. So.. any tips or recipes to share would be greatly appreciated!

Love The Way You Lie

I love the new Eminem and Rihanna song. I told my friend Justin the other day, that I love this song so much, that I wish it were chocolate so I could melt it and roll around in it. I think it is a beautifully written song. I know a lot of you are like, "Say what?"

Natalie posted this video last week, and it's been on my mind a lot. My first reaction to this song, is domestic violence. Being in a relationship where a man beats the crap out of a woman.

Being an extremely visual and imaginative person, when I hear the song, I picture what this relationship looks like to the outside. The more I listen and watch the video, I form a different perspective from inside the relationship.
"High off my love; drunk off my hate"

This couple feeds off of each other. The drama, the hurt, the emotions. They do things for attention from the other. They hit each other. The throw things. Maybe one flirts in front of the other, just so it pisses that person off and they can fight. They feed off of the fight.

It's a crazy dynamic of a relationship. That type of relationship isn't healthy and it won't last. But those two people are drawn like moths to a flame. They scream and they make up. They promise it won't be like that the next time. It's an endless cycle.

They love and fight so passionately. She goes at him as much as he goes at her.

"Just gonna stand there and watch me burn? But that's alright because I like the way it hurts."

What are your thoughts on the song? Love? Hate?

P.S. Have you entered my Wayward Nest giveaway?
