It's A Wonder We Even Got Out of the House

My morning started like most... Addison waking the house up before anyone is ready, Claire goo-ing and hitting me in face to see her sister, John grumbling in the bathroom... etc. When I finally made it to the coffee pot, there wasn't anymore coffee and I had to dig out the emergency multi-pack. Then, Addy wanted my breakfast and not hers. About 7, I started gearing us in the direction of getting ready to go to the gym. I got Addy dressed and hair fixed and THEN she said she had to go potty.

Yeah, right. I'm on to you, kid. You are just in it for the M&M's.

Sure enough, she DID NOT have to go potty. So, we had to re-dress. Then I got myself dressed, and remembered to feed Trixie. Addison says she wants to help me get Baby Claire dressed and she helped me pick out her outfit, which reminded me that I needed to get their laundry done, or they would be wearing only diapers and t-shirts. So, we get baby Claire dressed and then gave her her reflux medicine. So, I got her up off the bed, and we had a few minutes to spare, so, I thought, "Hey I'll get that laundry in the washing machine and multi-task while we are at the gym. Score!!" But then, Baby Claire spit up on myself and her, but mostly on the floor. I surveyed the damage and decided, we could both just wear a little spit up and put her on her blanket to play while I got the laundry together. I got ALL the laundry the in washing machine ( including the spit rags and pj's that had taken up residence on my bed and in my bathroom.). So,I go to pick up Baby Claire to put her in the car seat( we are right on time for the nursery to be open, which is a major score, because I strive for that every morning) and notice she has gotten ahold of Addison's bowl with her forgotten breakfast pastry ( Pop-Tart- don't judge) in it. She is covered in this Pop-Tart. So, we HAVE to do an outfit change. I just changed her little onesie shirt and I picked her up off the changing table and she SPITS UP AGAIN. UGH. I just wipe it off with a baby wipe, put a bib on her, and stuck in the car seat. I mean, really, who needs more than 3 outfit changes before 8:00?

If you are wondering, we made it to the gym by 8:10. Close enough to count, right?

Bribery Works Every Time...

We packed up this weekend and headed to the beach for a friend of ours' wedding. Addison was going to be their little flower girl. We were calling this the "trial run" to see how Addy would do for Joseph and Tracie's wedding next month. I had promised a PRIZE if Addy made it down the aisle. She would tell anyone who would listen that she was going to walk down the aisle and get a PRIZE.

Honestly, I was more than a little worried about it. Addison is two HALF, after all. You just never know what they will do. I figured out pretty early on, that this wedding was to be on the actual SAND. Not on the grass, as I had earlier thought. My visions of my little temperamental red head were not looking so good. I also found out that there was going to be another flower girl who was a few months older than Addison. Certainly, she could wrangle Addison if she got out of control. Right? Turns out, said flower girl was quite shy. She looked a little scared of Addison at their first meeting.

I honestly don't blame her. She scares me a little too.

Anyway, during the rehearsal, I realized that trying to control Addison near the ocean and in sand was not going to be an easy task. She was digging and playing and kicking sand everywhere.

All while little Brooke stood quietly and held her mommy's hand.

After I was able to physically force her off the sand, we went to the rehearsal dinner and saw the most beautiful sunset on the way there.

And this crazy looking house. We found out that they have been building it for 8 years!

When it came time to get ready, Addy informed me that she did not like her flower girl dress. And proceeded to try to take it off. Oh, crap. This isn't going to work. But she put it back on and didn't say another word.
Here is little Addison waiting to be the flower girl.

John and Claire at the wedding. I hardly heard him complain about how hot it was. He was a good sport.

Here is someone you don't see very often. Uncle Jay, who according to Addison, lives in a football game with Big Al.

Sharing a sisterly moment.

Is it my turn yet?

Waiting our turn. I had to hold her, so she didn't run into the wedding processional.

Walking down the aisle.. notice, no pedals are being thrown.

"Hey Brooke, you coming with me?"

Proud Girl!

She made it!!

Even Claire was enjoying herself

Caught with the watermelon. Girlfriend could've turned into a piece of watermelon she had so much. The front of her dress is pink with watermelon juice.

She would grab a piece of watermelon and run around on the dance floor and then back to the watermelon... she just made a giant circle

She did great during the wedding and even had her picture made after a bribery of sweet tea. She is a Southern Girl! Claire screamed pretty much the whole way down and back and spit up a lot. But, all is forgiven for just one of her little smiles.

I want them to stay little forever

Can you believe my little baby is 5 months old today?!!? Neither can I. No wonder the baby fever is hitting me hard. I'm not ready for her to grow up. We took her her for 4 month check up last week( yes, a little late, I know, but we changed pediatricians.) and Dr. C said we could start her on some cereal and juice. I quickly told him, No thank you, I will breast feed her until she is 21 to keep her a baby forever.
John asked me if his mom could start giving Claire cereal when she kept her, and I all but bit his head off. Why is everyone forcing my baby to grow up??

*Hysterical Sobbing*

Anyway, Claire weighed 15 lb 2 oz. She is a little chunk!! At 5 months of age, Claire is rolling over very well, trying to crawl, and scooting very well and can even do it backwards. She loves to chew on her fist and loves to hold her toes. She is not sleeping well at night. Waking about every 2-3 hours to nurse. She has starting waking up around 5 am in the mornings. Naps around 10:00 for about an hour and then a longer nap in the afternoons. Bath time is around 7 pm and bed time around 7:30-8:00. She loves tummy time and for someone to hold her. She is extremely nosey and doesn't want anything going on that she doesn't know about. I think she might be even more nosey than Addison. She loves to watch Addison and as long as she can see her, she is cool with anything. She tends to be very happy, but can and will turn on you in a second if you aren't doing what she wants. I don't know where she gets that. She is starting to grow some hair and it is going to be RED! Still unsure if it will be curly, but I also think she is going to have blue eyes. They are just REALLY blue.

Happy 5 Month Birthday, Baby Claire!!

Sleep Deprivation at it's Worst

Dear Claire's Internal Alarm Clock,

It would be greatly appreciated by all parties involved if you would reset yourself back to 9:00 instead of 5:00 AM... or at least hit the snooze button a couple of times before waking myself and Addison up.

Thank You for Your Cooperation,
One Tired Mama

Too Lazy...

So, I have been extremely busy lately. I would love to do a Bachelorette re-cap for you, but honestly, I am just too lazy at the moment. I can't seem to squeeze it in between all of the ironing and clothes folding( Glamourous life, I know! Don't be jealous.). Plus, I think BooMama says it best. Check out her recap Here

And, because I think he is just really funny and he does have some behind the scenes gossip, Check out Chris Harrison's blog Here

Now, I am off to finish folding mountains of laundry before my tennis lesson.

Do those two things go together?

I think not.

My Little Birdie is Flying Out Of The Nest...

Today is Addison's first day of Pre-School. Yes, I realize summer is starting for most, but, we were lucky enough to get her in for the summer. I tried to plan ahead and do a lot of things last night, so it wouldn't be a mad house this morning trying to get everyone ready and out the door. I am not used to getting Addison ready in the mornings because John always takes the girls to the grandparents houses while I get ready for work in peace. Her lunch was packed, nap mat ready, all of my work stuff was by the door, we were all set. She woke up at her normal time of 6:00 and I went ahead and did her hair and fixed her breakfast so I could continue getting ready. Everything was running great and John got out the door for work and a few minutes after he left I kept hearing something that was sounding like a baby cooing.

A baby that should have left with him.

A baby that I hadn't planned to take to her MeMac's house.

I called John, "Uh, You forgot Claire."

"What? I didn't know I was supposed to take her with me."

"We have had this discussion many times and we agreed that I could take Addy to school if you could take Claire where she is supposed to go."

And so he turned around and picked up Claire and took her to MeMac's. (Which, by the way, today is MeMac and Poppy's anniversary, so Happy 35th Anniversary MeMac and Poppy!!!)

Anyway, on to the photo session of Addison's first day of school!

Addison eating breakfast

Super excited about her lunch box. I also have several more pictures of her swinging her lunch box around. Ah, how I love the attention span of a 2 year old. ( Coincidently, she told me this morning she is two half.)

The only one of her smiling AND looking at the camera

"Where is my school?"
