OUR MAIN MUSIC

We seldom take our camera to our concerts at the Aged Care homes these days, so am very pleased to have this photo. We go there on the second Tuesday every month.

We average four per month these days, three regulars and usually an extra invitation comes in that we accept.  It is such a blessing to sing for the residents, though sad to see younger dementia patients, and even some residents younger than us. They are so pleased that we share with them, and we have fun too.

Our Music with Friends Strumalong Group is still increasing with nearly forty members,  and averaging attendance of thirty, as there is always some away, or taking grandchildren to sporting fixtures and other commitments.

Our friend that we play in church with has been overseas so we have had a break, and will resume in a few weeks.

BACK TO TOONUMBAR

Psalm 104:24 - O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom has thou made them all: the earth is full of your riches.

We returned to Toonumbar Dam at the end of April. The days were glorious, and there was torrential rain on the Friday night which did not affect us, but flooded areas to the south.

QUICK FAMILY TRIP

In April my pics tell me we made an overnight trip to the Gold Coast to say farewell to Emi as she made the trip back to Europe to see her Mother.

We had a nice walk to the nearby man-made lake as the afternoon closed in.
We didn't come prepared as the swans and ducks expected some tidbits

My son

Barry and Emi

A curious lizard.
Always heartwarming and a blessing to see family.

OUR DOGS

Our family increased by two at the end of March and early April.  Our friends gave us a kelpie and then they asked us if we would give a home to a seven year old female as well, grandmother to Sky.

They were already named... Rose and Sky.

We had a trip to Chinchilla and Tara in QLD,
Pic Sky (airborne) and her brothers.

We attended the Sheep Dog Trials at Tara, and Barry did a few numbers in the concert on the Saturday night, and I helped our friend who put it on.

I also dropped my camera on the concrete at the end of the concert, and while it did not damage the actual camera, it destroyed the chip..... so no photos.

Interesting to meet quite a few new people and see how 'the other half" live, as the saying goes.

Love and Blessings,
Jan

TOONUMBAR DAM March 2015

This dam is about 60kms from home.  Such a beautiful place to take our canoes, and we were fortunate to have calm weather.

They have a big hut there and rather than take our motor home, we camped in the shelter. We pitched our tent down one end, and our friends put up their swags.

The dam is 4kms long and on Iron Pot Creek

Our kayaks down to the water
Barry got out early.
We went p to the top of the dam one day.  My 'weekend warrior' in the foreground and Barry's hobie in the distance. Our friends had their motor on and we held on for the journey across the main body of water of the dam.

One thing I remember is drifting back into the foliage while going for a photo and thinking I had run into a prickle that really stung, only to see a very large ant on my sleeve a little later.   We also got out and had a paddle when we reached the creek above the dam, and I was very pleased with myself, getting onboard again easily.

Very  grateful we have the opportunity and the health to have these adventures at our age.

Love and Blessings
