JANUARY 2015 - First Instalment

Last day of January, and I see I didn't take any photos until 17th January, and this would be because I was totally absorbed in preparing our music book for our Music with Friends for this year.  I planned the first 18 songs to be a concert which hopefully we will put on in late June, then other songs to learn, plus  Carols  and Christmas songs for the end of year concert.

After typing them all up and chording them with Barry's input I also printed and collated them into the folders at home.  I did them in three blocks - singers, ukulele, and experienced players,  rather than all with ukulele chords as last year.  This was a mistake as apart from taking so much time (last year I did one master and took them to the photocopy shop) I had three masters, and some people who said they wanted a copy for experienced players decided they would have the beginner ukulele copy when they saw them.  We have three new ukulele players joining us.

DECEMBER 2014 REMEMBERED

December 2014 was so busy with all the music commitments, the Aged Care concerts, participating in local Carol Evenings with St Marks Singers, and all the practices, our three Sundays playing in Church, and the main one for us, our Music with Friends Strum and Singalong Christmas Concert. We started the group meeting two Saturdays a month and the Finale for the year went off even better than we ever imagined. We ended the year with 24 participants, ukuleles, guitars, mandolins and one violin player, and others who do not play but join in the singing.  Fifty plus attended our concert and we concluded with a lovely Christmas Morning Tea.

We had planned on having a quiet Christmas, going camping for a few days, as family work or live a long way away.   I didn't feel up to having friends over as in the past few years. However we just stayed home and quietly caught up with ourselves.

With love and Blessings,
Jan
