Out and About!

Here's a brand new collection releasing today that was designed to work with the new Scout mini-machine!  It's called Out and About, and there are 15 different die sets!  I have 2 cards for you today using 2 of these sets, and I'll post a 3rd one in a few days.

Before I get started, I wanted to make sure that you know that Spellbinders has a wonderful giveaway that you can still enter through the end of this month - a Platinum 6 AND a Scout machine, all done up in Lilac Shimmer!

First up is Sprinkle and Grow.

supplies: white, aqua, pinks, yellows, and greens cardstock, Sprinkle and Grow dies, Heartfelt Thanks and Scallops dies, sentiment from Typewriter Adventure Sentiments

And here is the Love Note Bird set.

supplies: white, teal green, grey, aqua, and pinks cardstock, Love Note Bird, sentiment from Typewriter Adventure SentimentsBranching Out embossing folder, Spellbinder gems in Berry and Capri Blue

I also used some of the new Color Essentials Gems that are being released this month, too, in the centers of the flowers, and sprinkled along the branch.  And one of the new Typewriter Adventure Sentiments fit perfectly onto the sweet little envelope!

I'll see you in a couple days with one more card using a die set from this new collection.

Woodblock Wednesday

Time for Woodblock Wednesday!  The particular one I chose for this month has only been used once before - bad on me!

supplies: white cardstock, cloudy sky dp from MFT Happy Patterns 6" paper pad, Memory Box Hope Collage woodblock, Spellbinders Sweet Birds on a Branch die, light magenta marker

Memory Box had a whole series of these collage woodblocks.  I got this one sometime in 2013.  This time I stamped it on a cloudy patterned paper, then colored in the flowers and added a bird.

Be sure to visit Amy's blog to see all the other entries for this monthly challenge - it's always a fun walk down memory lane!

It's Anything Goes week over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge, so I'll be entering this card there.

Spring Robin

Our weather has taken a decided turn to the chilly side lately, which makes me yearn for spring all the more!  So here's a card to help us be patient until it gets here.

supplies: white, bright pink, yellow, brown, and rust cardstock, Concord & 9th Boughs and Holly stencils, twisted citron, mowed lawn, and rustic wilderness distress inks, 2 Pink Fresh Studio Fairy Dust pink inks, blending brushes, Simon Blossom Field embossing folder, Layered Birdie die, sentiment from Spellbinders Pocket Full of Spring Stitching dies, adhesive foam to pop up robin

This layering wreath stencil set was actually brought out in the winter, but I think that making the berries pink gives it a more spring-like feel.  And I put a robin on it because to me, it's a sign of spring.

Sorry I haven't been around lately, still getting back to normal again.  I'll try to do better!

Just found that the Just Us Girls Challenge is "birds", and they are teaming up with Time Out Challenges, so I'll be entering this card in both of them!!

Christmas Window

I fell in love with Kath's card HERE that she shared earlier this year, and decided to try and CASE it, using my own supplies.  Here's the result.

supplies: kraft, black, reds, and green cardstock, vellum, Craft Consortium Wood Textures woodplank dp, Idea-ology Window Frames Baseboard, Snowfall distress grit paste, Clear Rock Candy distress glitter, Mini Holiday Greens, Taylored Expressions Cardinal dies, (retired) Memory Box branch die, Joyful Christmas Sentiments foiling plate (reverse) and red foil

I'm sorry that my snow on the window looks more like soapsuds here, but irl it is sparkly and quite realistic!  This was a bit fiddly to put together, since the greens are so diminutive, but I stuck with it, and am happy with my results.  Thank you, Kath, for your endless inspiration!

Autumn Birdhouse

Today's card is a mix of lots of companies dies.  I love this Lawn Fawn Birdhouse, but I don't think I've ever made a fall card with it.

supplies: white, aquas, reds, autumn colors, and 2 kraft woodgrain cardstock, Lawn Fawn Magic Iris Birdhouse Add-On dies, Spellbinders Tweet Cardinal, Sweet Birds on a Branch (branch),  PTI cloud die, Concord & 9th Playful Pumpkins maple leaf die, and sentiment from Spellbinders Fall Thoughtfulness stamp, Simon Cream embossing powder, adhesive foam squares to lift birdhouse

This was fun to put together, and I love it when I can mix and match supplies from lots of different companies.  That cloud die was the smallest in a set that is so old there are no release holes to get it out of the die!  Glad I've kept it all these years, though, as it comes in handy more than you'd think!

Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by for a visit!
