One step at a time

Today I have steroids injections into my back.  God willing and we hope the roads are good. The injections were ordered by the Spine Clinic Doctors. I hope that it helps with the pain.  Time will tell.  I can have 4-5 injections in a year if it works. When it no longer works I will be evaluated for surgery.

Next week I have more arthritis injections two at a time in my belly.  This is the second time ( every 4 weeks) on a new med called Cimzia.  Last time I had no adverse reactions...and my psoriasis was a bit better as for my arthritis pain...no change...still a bugger.  Since I have multiple types of arthritis...Rheumatoid, Psoriatic and Lymes Arthritis...I am a challenge for the Doctors.  The Rheumatology PA that has been managing my care finally moved on and I go back to see my other Rheumatologist later this month.

Riding in the car for any length of time is so very painful.  I am still doing PT exercises, whirlpool baths and we purchased a massage gun that has heat.  I take 6 Tylenol a day and a gummy on the days that I am able to stay at home.  Most days I have a long nap with a heated rice bag. The pain just wears me out.  I have no pain or very little when lying down...however I cannot lay around all day.

One step at a time...

Far Side

Christmas Card count... a measly 4 cards yesterday total now 23.  It is a new project and has some kinks to work out...drying time is very important!  It is all a learning process.

  1. I sure hope all goes well, and you feel better soon. I crocheted my Mom a cotton covered rice bag one year for Christmas. She loved it.

  5. I sure hope those injections work, or at least have some calming effect. Nothing is more debilitating than constant pain. You and FG have been on my prayer list for years and hope that Somebody is listening.

  10. Chronic pain is such a hard thing, and people who don't have it don't realize how much it takes out of you. I have a herniated disc in my back - it probably no where compares to what you feel, but there's not a day I wake up that I'm not in some kind of pain (some days better than others, but always present). And it really limits how long I can do things for.
I hope the injections give you some relief

  12. Dennis and I pray for you and Far Guy daily. I sure hope the injections work for you. I'm so impressed by all that you do. I just got home from the walk-in clinic. I have a sinus infection and she said it's a doozy, whatever that means! Ha! I'll pick up antibiotics later. She also wanted to give me steriods and a morphine cough med. I told her no steriods because of my tachycardia and the over the counter Delsym I'm taking is working well for the cough.
Take care my dear friend. Don't worry about the cards. Everyone will love getting them, even if it's January or February.
    Blessings and love,
    Betsy

  14. Have you ever heard of Back On Track products? I find them excellent for relieving arthritis and other aches and pains. I have a small mat I lay on, and the fingerless gloves as well as an ankle brace. I use their products on my horses too. It is infra red technology.
I hope the docs can give you more relief.

  16. Oh my goodness- I can't imagine. I also had injections in my back and finally had the one that burns the nerves. Nothing was helping so I gave up on that. But I know people who have been helped tremendously by the shots. Rest as much as you can and I hope your doctors come up with something that really helps.

  18. This sounds awful. I'm so so sorry! My husband has arthritis too, as a result, they say, of the high dose steroids he was on to combat the colitis he got from the Keytruda for his kidney cancer. It's such a battle. He's on gabapentin and arthritis strength Tylenol. He's just doubled his gabapentin. So far not much relief. So I kind of understand how bad this is...I hope you an get relief soon.
