I finished the remainder of the watercolor Christmas cards on Saturday. Far Guy signed and folded the letters and tucked them inside. I attached the address labels and wrote a few notes inside some of them and sealed them. I have all the stamps but I am waiting for the return address labels that should have been in the mail last Friday.
Cards in progress
Using the homemade cotton watercolor paper was a challenge as it sucked up water to beat the band and extra drying time had to be allowed. No two cards are exactly alike...
The final count was 126. I am not sure I will do the homemade watercolor cotton paper again...but it did make a very pretty card.
Pain Report: Some improvement...is it enough? Is that it? I knew I wouldn't get complete relief, perhaps I was expecting too much. Before the steroid injections my pain was at a six...now it is a five at times. I am still doing the exercises and the pain at night that came on right after the injections is now gone...so at least I can rest comfortably again.
Far Side
Can you do a post and share the front of your card?
ReplyDeleteI will do that in a few days:)
DeleteCheck that project off, but you’ll add another I have learned! Sorry for your pain. I know it well as I have it daily. It’s very depressing. I want a better day.
ReplyDeleteWow, they look so nice! Hope your pain is better soon.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! Now you can relax and enjoy the rest of the holiday season. Hope you continue to feel relief.
ReplyDeleteYikes on the pain. It can be a life consuming ...blood sucking...life sucking thing. I don't wish that on anyone.
ReplyDeleteThat said, your artwork will be appreciated by anyone who receives the cards. I often use homemade cards from others in my still life photography to enhance to photo.
I'd consider it priceless art!
Congrats on finishing the cards. I'm hoping mine will go out tomorrow or Wednesday. I keep forgetting to get stamps when I'm out running errands. I'm glad there is a little pain relief, especially at night.
ReplyDeleteLiving with pain influences all parts of your life.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope you will continue to have relief. You have my understanding sympathy. That's a lot of cards. The recipients will be delighted.
ReplyDeleteHandmade watercolor paper is usually very porous, but it is also beautiful in its own right. Wow! Can hardly wait to see them.
ReplyDeleteWhen you are in chronic pain any improvement is good. Even when you have to think back in comparison to realize it. I can relate. I hope it continues to gradually lessen. :) :)
Glad to hear you are getting some relief, especially at night.
ReplyDeleteYou've done an amazing job on the Christmas cards!
126 cards made...it really is astounding.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some relief from pain soon. GM
I know that these cards will be forever treasured. 126 cards is awesome! Hoping that you do get more relief....maybe after the busyness of the month, you can just sit and relax.
ReplyDeleteFinishing a big project is so satisfying.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear that you are at least not having pain at night. Good sleep can be hard to come by as we age.
