This year's study program focuses on a captivating journey through the spiritual tradition in Cop... more This year's study program focuses on a captivating journey through the spiritual tradition in Coptic language, exploring its wealth of prayers, hymns, and magical invocations. Participants will engage in a collective experience of reading, translating, and uncovering the profound spiritual meanings within these fascinating texts, originating from various religious traditions.
Three out of the fifteen meetings will be in the form of free public conferences, featuring invited experts who will cover topics such as: the complex religious panorama of Late Antique Egypt; literary and theological value of euchological texts; the world of Coptic magical papyri. Conferences are open to a wider audience as free events. The exact title and detailed program for each conference will be announced throughout the year.
The reading classes and public conferences will be conducted via Zoom (from 3 PM to 4:30 PM CEST | from November to March: CET). They are free of charge and open to everyone with a basic knowledge of Sahidic Coptic language. Prior to each class, a brief introduction to the historical and literary characteristics of the texts will be provided. All study materials will be available as digital resources. Participants who attend at least 80% of the study meetings will receive a final certificate of completion.

who is involved in New Testament philology. Nevertheless, much work needs to be performed in order to provide accurate critical editions of the various New Testament texts in the different first translation languages, including Coptic. Using the brief Sahidic-Coptic Epistle of Jude as a case study, the Article aims to provide a thorough analysis of the latest critical edition of the text, offering a first translation into Italian. By comparing it with the critical Greek text and its variants, this offers an attempt at a retroversion into Greek, in order to uncover any previously overlooked readings.
