- The 2010 coordinator election has concluded, and with 14 votes, Erik was selected as the new lead coordinator. He is returning to the lead after previously holding the position in the last two terms. Erik will be supported by Lugnuts, MichaelQSchmidt, MikeAllen, and Nehrams2020. As Bovineboy2008 had only one less vote than several of the other coordinators, the new and returning coordinators' first order of business will be to determine if he be appointed to an additional coordinator role. Thank you to those who participated in the election for continuing to guide our project, and remember that anyone is welcome to join in on the discussions at the coordinator talk page.
- After a recent consensus at a RfC regarding the use of italics in article titles, our film articles will join Wikipedia's other articles on books, television shows, taxonomic names, etc. in adding the formatting change. The articles will be formatted to show the italics through use of the {{infobox film}} template. To help all articles ensure they have the proper italic formatting, consider helping to add the infobox to the articles that do not have one.
- Our project currently has over 75,600 film-related articles, with just over 400 that have yet to be assessed by our assessment department! Remember to always add the
{{Film|class=}} template to a film article's talk page so the project can get a better idea of what work still needs to be done. If you believe that an article should be assessed at a certain class, feel free to follow the assessment scale and assess the article yourself (it's not too difficult to determine the basic classes such as stubs, categories, or lists). Below is a table showing a breakdown of our articles by class.
- Based on views, the top five most popular articles from our project this month were: Internet Movie Database, Resident Evil: Afterlife, Inception (film), 2010 in film, and Machete (film). For a list of our project's top 1,000 most popular articles, see here. Consider helping to improve one of these articles that is seen by thousands to millions of people each month.
- Spotlight Update: Multiple films and film-related articles have reached GA and FA status in September 2010.
