Cabinet

edit

Well, articles consistently seem to feature lists of ministers either to the article for the prime-minister (Léon Blum, Camille Chautemps) or, for the current one, an article referring either to the Prime Minister or an extensive one about the institution (such as the link you provided). I believe that the only exceptions for historical cabinets are when the latter do not fit into articles for leading persons because of the latters' length (William Pitt the Younger). It would be senseless to have an article that will become obsolete in, at best, a couple of years, when the reader could have all the info linked to a relevant page. Plus, you will note that the Cabinet in Romania is not exactly a traditional institution like the Cabinet in the UK is (by which I mean: in Romania, the cabinet seems to identify with the PM, who was never the lord with the most important job in a kingly council). Thanks for restoring

edit

Thanks for restoring the part I accidently deleted. Must be the Firefox browser. I read that it might do such things like cutting off text, but I didn't realize that it had just happened to me. I'll try to be more careful next time. Thanks again.

About that webcam link: I thought it might be more accessible and useful at the top of the page, but the external links section will also do.

Bye and have a nice evening!

Orphaned non-free media (Image:4months3weeks&2days poster.JPG)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:4months3weeks&2days poster.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 03:16, 20 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I see that someone found a newer poster (also non-free) for the 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days movie. As it seems to be newer, I see no reason to replace that image with the one I uploaded. There is no other article where this picture can be used, so I do not object to the deletion. Razvan Socol (talk) 07:51, 20 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: Deleted fair-use image

edit

Hi! The short version is that since Cătălin Predoiu is still alive, it's possible for a replacement image to be created (the rule is WP:NFCC #1 I believe). I know the rules suck, but it does serve a purpose: to give people a motivation to go out and make free content. Please get back to me if you have any other concerns. east.718 at 06:47, March 5, 2008

Actually, it's very easy to obtain free media - another avenue you can take is by asking Predoiu himself to donate an image under a free license. I've uploaded around 125 free images so far here, the vast majority of which weren't found, but rather released freely after I asked the copyright holder nicely. east.718 at 21:23, March 5, 2008

Gheorghe Argeşanu and other images

edit

Considering that there are currently three other images of the man in the article, and that the image is added is clearly and thoroughly copyrighted, how do you suppose "fair use" applies? If you read the tag you added, you'll perhaps notice this line: "Where no free equivalent is available or could be created that would adequately give the same information." They're nice images, but you may want to consider that using such liberal interpretations of fair use may be considered disruption. Also, the images are not low-resolution under any definition. If you're ignoring the guidelines and gaming the system just because they're "better images" (they are, but how does that begin to matter in a copyright-related issue?), then you risk being seen as a disruptive editor - which I for one am sure you're not. Dahn (talk) 23:33, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Of course, the faulty rationales used for the other images are an equivalent issue. I wouldn't know how to pick at them, but for now this was easiest. For example, I still have no idea about how and when the "photo taken while in the exercise of his functions" applies to Romanian PD, if it exists at all, and I have no idea how one assesses that. Cheers, Dahn (talk) 07:22, 17 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs

edit

Hello Rsocol! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 16 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Fair use rationale for File:Alexandru Vaida Voievod.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Alexandru Vaida Voievod.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:33, 23 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

In the absence of confirmation that the other images are PD, I would say add a detailed Fair Use Rationale with reference to WP:NFCC and give as much information as you can Sfan00 IMG (talk) 20:48, 23 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Alfred Toepfer Stiftung F.V.S

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Alfred Toepfer Stiftung F.V.S requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Logan Talk Contributions 19:07, 29 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

It was a mistake; the interwiki link should have been added to Alfred Toepfer Stiftung F.V.S.; the page Alfred Toepfer Stiftung F.V.S should be deleted. Razvan Socol (talk) 19:51, 29 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Salut!

Hey there. You might wanna be a bit more careful when filling citation information. In you contribution to Windows 10, you had mistakenly put the website name into |publisher=.
