Anything but a card ''FIVE'' Challenge *

On the 5th Sunday of the month ABAC run a mini challenge.  Make something relevant to the number 5 so I have put together a canvas using many elements but have included 5 birds, five mini flowers and fiver larger flowers.

I used modelling paste and clock stencil.  I used a few of my own crochet flowers and butterflies (now drenched in paint lol).  I used a lot of bits from my oddment box so pleased with myself there at least.

Now back to the post - Once placing everything I sprayed it using dylusions and color wash.

I then used my new primary elements powder paint and inka gold to highlight the elements.

I am unsure it worked for me and maybe ruined it a little but here it is anyway and apologies for all the pics.

Why not head on over to ABAC and join in with our mini challenge for the month.

Hugz to all and happy crafting xx

Playing with H2O's on a canvas board *

Firstly I actually started playing with my dylusions for the background.  I had some chipboard bodyform shapes I had used in another project long ago but did not throw the remains away so decided to use them as a stencil using another spray.  I then roughly put pen to canvas and sketched butterflies and dragonflies.  Believe me I am rubbish at drawing but I just wanted basic shapes as the intention was to roughly paint over the shape.  I then painted the entire piece using lots of H2O's.  I finished it off by using a black pencil to highlight around the body forms.

Now for the pics and sorry for overload!

I do hope you like my playtime project lol

Hugz to all - off to bed now.

Shadow box - NO it is a bits and bobs tray *

Hi all

Just a quick project for today.  I altered a corregated box.  I painted inside and out with gesso first and then using primary elements/bindex and gloss gel I painted inside and out.  I placed 4 pictures on the inside and made a divider out of mount board - also painted. I love primary elements they are so luscious - so luscious I hardly used my inka gold - eeeek I now need counselling lol.

Anyway that's it for my bits and bobs box for my desk at work.  Now for the pics.

Top hat and no tails *

I found a tutorial for a mini top hat made by Lostwax on Youtube. I bought the pattern made and just got on with it and had so much fun doing so.  The video never seems to get going but is fun all the same.

I made the hat according to the pattern using craft foam.  I made quite a mess of it as you will see in the first pic lol.  I covered over the mishaps using my dictionary paper which also served the purpose of making the hat more solid.

I then used colour wash sprays, inka gold (my fave product lately lol),  flowers (also sprayed), leaves, feathers and lace.

All done with lots of fun.....Now for the pics ....

Thanks for dropping by and hope you call again real soon

Coaster and teaspoon bowl *

Quite a simple set of projects.  The heart bowl I made using paper mache over a polystyrene heart and the chipboard jigsaw piece I bought -  I just wanted to play with alcohol inks and wanted these for my desk at work.  I covered using the inks, then stamped randomly butterflies and dragonflies and finally coated them using modpodge.  That's it - like I said simple creations.

Sorry for the pics, the shine made it difficult to photograph even with my white box lol. The two pics are showing the back and front of them.

A quick and simple project *

Today I decided to alter a really gawdy frame and perhaps use it as a gift for a birthday.  I used gesso, white acrylic paint and a patina effect paint. Over the top I used a crackle glaze and to finish it off a little inka gold over the raised areas.

Now there is a nice quick write up - love it lol.  Now for the pics

That's it for today - well that's my intention anyhow lol.
Thank you for dropping by and please call again real soon

Mixed Media Hearts *

I was hanging about You Tube as I do quite alot and found this tutorial from Fi over at You Tube on how to create the pitted effect using utee and mica sprays.  Brilliant - learn something new everyday lol. I also got the idea for my wings from another of Fi's tutorials, mine are slightly different as only used 3 wires.

Ingredients
2 hearts (cut ut the large one for small one to attach)
brown paint
utee
mica sprays
inka gold for back and sides
wings - made from wire and mod podge then coloured using alcohol inks and inka gold over the top
Then I burnt to some holes in the wings to look tattered

Voila - all finished - so many different colours at every angle as you will see

Why not head on over and visit Fi's channel to gain even more inspiration.
