Cheers Friend!

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday!  This week is scootin' right along.  I some time to play at the craft table last night and thought experimenting with geometric patterns was a good idea.  I came up with a Birthday Card for a friend living in the U.K.

My card today was inspired by Ardyth Percy-Robb and the card she posted on Instagram yesterday.  I love how Ardyth thinks outside the box with her designs, never uses patterned papers and always has the most amazing ink blended color combos.  Check her You Tube channel HERE.

For my card, I ink blended a white card panel with Catherine Pooler Cranberry Fizz, Catching Rays and Over Coffee Inks.  I splattered the panel with water as CP inks are water reactive and dried with my heat tool.  I proceeded to cut the blended panel into 1/4" strips along with strips of gold mirror card.

I did a dry run, arranging the strips in a pleasing pattern and once I was happy with the layout, I snapped a reference photo. I then proceeded to adhere the strips to a white card panel that measures 3.75" x 5".

I trimmed the overhanging strips around all 4 sides and adhered the panel to a black mat, then to a cardbase of 110 lb. Neenah Solar White Classic Crest card.  I die cut the sentiments and ahered flat to the card front and called this card complete.  No bells and whistles were added, I think the mirror card is enough shine.

I like experimenting with geometric shapes and I like using card designs like this for masucline cards.  It takes the guess work out of deciding on a design - just go geometric!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Friends Like You

Hello and Happy Thursday!  Today's make and share features a large bloom and alcohol marker coloring.

This gorgeous bloom and sentiment are part of the Friends Like You digital set from Graciellie Designs.  This is a lovely image and I chose to make it quite large for this A2 sized Sweet & Simple card.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, added Wink of Stella on the highlighted areas of the petals and black gems for a finishing touch.  I cut the thinnest of black mats for the focal panel and mounted on a Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 110 lb. card base.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Monochrome Hello Friend

Hello and Happy Wednesday and I hope you've had a lovely day.  It's early evening as I type this post and I'm sharing a Monochrome Friendship Card created with the Gina K. Designs Forever Flowers Stamp set which is part of the Forever Flowers Card Kit.

I love color but was inspired to create a Black and White card after watching a Gina K. You Tube Video.  Her card was stunning so I wanted to give it a go.  I stamped the images with Versafine ink, die cut with the matching dies; which are part of the kit, and arranged all on a die cut oval panel.  I die cut two card panels with Kat Scrappiness Stitched Rectangle Dies, embossed the white panel with a Brick embossing folder, added clear gems and a gingham ribbon.  That completed this Monochromatic card; I do like the final result.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

The Paper Funday Challenges - Anything Goes with Optional St. Patrick's Day

Hello and Happy 1st Wednesday of the new month.  That means a new challenge has started at The Paper Funday Challenges.  The theme this month is Anything Goes with an Optional Twist of St. Patrick's Day.  Out wonderful sponsor this month is the talented Jan's Digi Stamps and I was so excited to work with Beach Friends for my design team project.

This stamp set is so reasonably priced for all the elements it contains.  This stamp set contains 6 color drawings, 6 Black and White drawings and 3 sentiments.  And these ladies are so fun!

My card measures 5" square and I didn't use any layers; I just colored the focal panel and adhered directly to my card base.  I also used one of the sentiments included in the set and put it all together in Publisher so the sentiment and images would print out as one.  I colored using my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and added some glitter here and there with my Gelly Roll Pen as well as adding Black Polka Dots with the Gelly Roll Glaze pen to one of the beach bags.

I had a great time coloring this one up; I just zoned out and relaxed while coloring.  That's why I love to color...to me, it's so relaxing.

We hope you will join us this month at The Paper Funday Challenges.  We would love to have you and we hope to inspire you with our projects.

Until next time,  Happy Crafting!

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges - Tulips in Vase

Good Day Everyone!  It's time for more fun at Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges and this week the sponsors are the wonderful Pattie's Creations and Polkadoodles.

I've had the pleasure of creating my design team project with the Tulips in Vase digital image from Pattie's Creations.

I kept this A2 sized card (4.25" x 5.5") fairly simple, using only one mat of designer paper, inking around the edges of the focal image with Distress Ink in the color Pumice Stone, rounding some corners with my corner chomper and adding some card candy.  The digital image was colored up with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  This project turned out pretty and perfect for a simple friendship card.

We hope you will join us this week over at Penny's Challenges for your chance to win some awesome prizes from our sponsors.

Until Next time, Happy Crafting!
