1. What are you best known for in your family or among friends?
I hope that I would be known for being a follower of Jesus, a woman of faith, and a person who cares deeply about others - especially my family and friends.
2. Were you popular in school?
I was on the school newspaper in high school, and was the editor my senior year. I was also in the student senate for a while. I had a group of friends, but I wasn't especially popular, nor did I have any desire to be.
3. Would you rather take a drive in the country or shop in town on a day off?
I don't really enjoy shopping. A drive in the country sounds nice if there was a nice hike at the end. I don't particularly enjoy driving just for the sake of driving, but I do enjoy road trips to a destination I want to be at.
4. Are you a member of any societies, clubs or associations or were you at any time? Did you enjoy them?
As I mentioned above, I was on my high school newspaper staff and loved that. I was a member of the an honor society (Phi Betta Kappa) in college. Later, I was a member of a professional organization for public relations practitioners. Currently, I am a member of the Utah and Granite Education Associations, which is basically our teacher's union. I am in the union mainly for the legal protection it affords teachers. I am also an active member of my Christian church as well as the church's women's organization. I love being active in my church.
That's all for now. I'll be back again soon with more entries into the August Happiness Challenge.
Until next time,
😊Deb💖

Hi Deb, I hope you feel better soon. I have struggled with anxiety and depression and know how awful it is. My self-talk is let go and let God. I will keep you in prayer.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you were and still are, very active! That's wonderful!

I'm sorry for the family drama. I think it's the worst and I dare say we've all had it at sometime. Glad you are taking care of yourself!
ReplyDeletegood for you!! I am so sad that our beloved Frodo is gone, but he was a ton of stress with taking care of him. I have been doing really good and avoiding family drama!! I stay out of it as much as possible and if someone disappoints me (which they do) I work hard at accepting it and moving on.
ReplyDeleteHi Deb~ I'm so sorry you are having stress. There is nothing worse than family drama to me.... I always keep my distance from that! I hope it improves very soon. What a fun post! I wasn't popular in school, and didn't aspire to be. I was much happier just being me ;0) I do love a good day trip to a favorite location. I don't mind sitting in the passenger seat, and Bob likes to drive - win, win! Teachers do need the protection of a union. Bob was a union member for over 45 years, he still pays his dues. I wasn't always a fan, but the union provided us with a good living for many years. I hope things get better for you. Gentle hugs, Barb
ReplyDeleteDear friend, I am glad you were able to meet with your counselor to discuss the stressful situations. And glad it validated your feelings. Family drama is real and so very hard. I know. And may I add, thank you for sharing that. By doing so, you may have given someone the courage to reach out for help. Hugs, my friend!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the stress you are having to deal with. Sounds like you have a handle on it now though.
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to read your answers. :)
I'm sorry for the stress and will be praying for your peace and comfort. Thank you for joining in! Your header photo makes me homesick for Utah.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for the family stress, it is so hard. But good to know you have ways of handling it.
ReplyDeleteI would have a hard time deciding between shopping and a country drive. I do love them both.
I have enjoyed reading more about you and your various activities. I'm sorry to hear there is yet more family drama. UGH. You'll be proud of me: i deleted several people from my FB account because whenever i was on there to post photos, i kept seeing horrible comments about us moderate dems and kamala and horrible stupid conspiracy theories and I finally said ENOUGH. I'm just ending the online "relationships" Cannot stand it especially when many of them profess to be Christ followers. They are NOT acting like JEsus that is for sure. I know we are all entitled to our opinions, but we should be treating people with kindess...even those who don't agree with us politically. I can't stand Trump but i sure don't speak horrible words about him on social media or even in person. I figure God will bring Him to his knees eventually if not here on earth then when T dies and meets His creator.....as he will. he will have a lot to answer for that is for sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the stress, especially at the beginning of the school year. I hope you have a peaceful weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Deb ~ Life can be so overwhelming at times. I'm glad you had some good counseling for your situation. I have been dealing with a bit of depression lately. Prayer, reading my Bible and uplifting devotionals have helped. Every day I cast my cares on Jesus, He cares for me and is working all things out for His Honor, glory and my good. I have much to be thankful for.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend ~ FlowerLady
It's wonderful that you and your therapist get one another. Important! And there's nothing better than peace of mind.
