Borders And Banners

Hello Again!

Todays' creation will be entered into the Challenge at PTI, Anchoring With Border And Banner Dies, Simon Says Monday, No Rules and Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes!

I absolutely LOVED Melissa's cards, her VIDEO is awesome!  I loved them so much that I kind of CASED them, placing a tag on the card itself.  I also LOVE tags....any kind of tags, but especially ones placed ON cards.  lol

I used several stamp sets from PTI, Love And Marriage, Lovely Layers, Ruby Reprise, and Uncorked as well as the Uncorked die set.  Stampin' Up! inks in, Night Of Navy, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, and Wild Wasabi.   I collage style stamped the flowers and leaves on 2 corners, so they would peek out from under the tag, which was hand cut.  A little paper piercing and designer paper used to decorate it.  I also popped it up on 3 dimensional dots.  I stamped the heart image on to the tag itself and then on a piece of Vellum, and cut that out, glued it to the tag.  Using MFT dies, Wavy Edge and Western Star Duo (the one without the stars) I made my border cuts.  After stamping the sentiment on the PTI Banner die, I stamped the word happy onto card stock and punched it out using a small heart punch.  I like how this gives a little more depth and interest to the sentiment.  2 Organdy ribbons, in a pretty blue and green,  threaded through the tag hole.  Swiss Dots Embossing Folder and a couple of rhinestones added to flower centers and banner and 3 randomly tossed sequins.

I LOVE this card as much as Melissa's.....I now just have to find a Happy Couple to give this to!  ;)

Thanks for bopping in.....love it when you do!

Enjoy~~

Crocus

Good Morning!

Today I have another Spring time card.   I just love this Crocus stamp, it's the promise of Spring!  I'd say mine would be popping up any day now, BUT they would have to work really hard to pop through the 3-4 foot snowbanks we have in some spots....less in others.

The stamp sets are from Gina K Designs, Signs Of Spring and Stately Flowers 8.  I stamped the leaves in Old Olive on the base card stock.  The dies are Flourishes, Perfectly Pierced and Spellbinders, Classic Oval.  Image colored with Copic Markers.  I then spritzed Stone Glimmer Mist over the entire surface and tossed a wee bit of glitter on that, so it would stick when dried.  Adhesive pearls were colored with a Copic Marker.

This card will be entered into the following Challenges:

Stamp TV, Combine & Color.

Simon Says Monday, No Rules.

Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes!

A simple little Springtime card!

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy~~

Peek A Boo

Good Afternoon!

Well all the rage is a Peek A Boo card, several of my friends have made gorgeous ones after watching the Splitcoast Stampers Video.

It's quite marvelous, and Norma makes all of the steps, a walk in the park!

This was just a FUN card to make.  At first I thought, how the heck does that work?!?!  Once you cut and score your card stock, it makes sense.....even for me!  I used Hero Arts, Everyday Sayings, and Flourishes, Dahlias and Cottage Home stamp sets.  Spellbinders Classic and Scallop Oval, Fancy Tags dies,  MFT, Dotted Scallop Border, and Blueprint #12 dies, and Sizzix Flourish and Decorative Corner Flourish dies.  That's a lot of dies!  Copic Markers, Stampin' Up! ink in Tempting Turquoise, Vellum, ribbons and rhinestones.

I really could have added a bunch more for accents, like decorating the plain scallop border frames, but time got away from me.

Don't be scared to try this unique fold, because the result will really pack a punch!

This card will be entered into the Challenges at Simon Says Monday, No Rules and Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes!

Thanks for popping in.

Enjoy~~

Sunshine & Laughter

Good Morning!

I have a nice happy sunshiny card to share with you today!  A little contrast to the white snowbanks we still have everywhere.

I used the Spring Tulips and Everyday Sayings stamp sets from Hero Arts.  I created a mask by cutting a 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 inch window in some scrap paper, placed it over my A2 card and then sponged Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Melon Mambo over the card stock, inks by Stampin' Up!  I then stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  Stamped my sentiment using the Melon Mambo Ink.  I then masked off my image using a piece of scrap paper measured to fill the window, grabbed yellow, pink and orange craft paint and my trusty old toothbrush and flicked the colored paint all over to create some texture and to fill all of the white space.

It's bright, it's happy, it's cheery!

This card will be entered into the following Challenges:

Hero Arts, Masking.

Mod Squad , Spring Forward.

Simon Says Monday, No Rules.

Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes.

Thanks for stopping by, appreciate you doing so!

Paper Tole

Hello again.

My card will be entered into the Challenge at the Mod Squad, Paper Takes Its Tole. Hosted by my online BFF, Judy Woodland!  Yay Judy!

I don't think I have ever done this technique, but it is so much FUN!

Like Judy's sample card I knew I wanted to use a big bold bloom too. Flower, butterfly and sentiment are from the Penny Black stamp set, To You....the flourish is from the Bo Bunny stamp set, Sophie, leaves are from the Gina K Designs set, Stamper's Favorites. Images colored with Copic Markers, as well as all of the Adhesive Pearls.  A little Stickles added to the butterfly wings.

I stamped the flower 3 times and cut different portions out and added them back to the image.  This technique really is fun, gives the stamp an awesome look and adds so much depth and dimension.  I really want to try this with a hydrangea stamp, so many little blossoms....WOW!

Thanks so much for this Challenge, Judy.....Loved it!!  (and you!)

Enjoy~~

A Little Texture

Good Morning!

Today's card is for the Challenge at Simon Says Wednesday, Add A Little Texture.

The stamp and die sets are from Simon Says, Summer Garden.  Ahhh, Summer Garden, say it with me!  lol  We are a long way away from that!  The texture was added by Swiss Dots and Lattice Embossing Folders.  Images colored with Copic Markers.  And a bit of Vellum covering the sentiment to give it a nice soft look.

Simple card, but the dies and stamps made this FUN to create!

Bring on the Spring.....28 days!!!....4 more weeks!  YAY!

Enjoy~~

Card Box Holder

Good Afternoon!

I have been trying to make a bunch of cards for my Mom, ones that require no extra postage, so she can mail them easily.....no trips to the Post Office and hand stamping, IYKWIM?  Soooo, the next idea was to make her a cute little box to hold all of the cards in.  I perused the 'interwebs' and found an easy to follow tutorial HERE, at Pink Buckaroo's Blog.

This will be entered into the Challenge at Scor Pal, Hearts A Flutter

The score lines for the box are at:

card stock 11 x 7 inches, 1/2"   3"   8"   10.5"
card stock  7 x 6  inches, 1/2"   3" turn 90 degrees score again at 1/2"   5.5"

My card holder box isn't fancy or overly adorned, but it certainly gets the job done.

I used many Gina K Designs stamps for the dividers, Basket Additions, Lots Of Thanks, Make A Statement, Stamper's Favorites, and Up And Away.  Spellbinder's Hearts, Classic and Scalloped Circle dies.  Glitter dotted ribbon.

Nothing Fancy

That's it.....full of all different types of cards made with love.

Thanks for coming by.

Enjoy~~

Gossip

Good Morning!

Today's card will be entered into the Challenge at MFT Color.

This card will need an explanation.  My Mom has a great bunch of friends at her Assisted Living place.  They all get along so well, 6 woman at one table.  The Head Chef is Charlie, and Charlie is FUN!  The girls love giving him a hard time and he gives it right back.  This card is for Charlie's birthday.  My Mom wanted something fun and sassy!   They make Charlie work for his money.  When he serves them there is always one more thing that they would like.....mostly sour cream and tartar sauce.   Of course I do not own any stamps that say that.....so forgive me my chicken scratch!

The girls will love this and I am sure Charlie will get them all back for it.

Front

The stamp set is by Art Impressions, Gossip.  Aren't they fabulous?   Designer paper by Cloud 9 Designs, Wild Indigo.  Image colored with Copic Markers and lots of Sakura Glitter pens to add a sparkly accent.  Eyelets in red and blue and ribbons.  MFT Blueprints #12 Banner die.

Inside

May Charlie never forget their condiments again.  lol

Thank you so much for coming by.  Have a wonderful day!

A Little Bit Of Paradise

Hello Again!

This card is for the Challenge at Simon Says Monday, A Piece Of Paradise.

I always go right to the source when wanting to make a pretty sponged beachy background scene, Theresa Momber's Blog.  She is the Queen Of Sponging!  All of her cards are so beautifully crafted!

Here is my CASE of her card (shown in that link)

I used the stamp set, By The Sea 2, from Gina K Designs, illustrated by Theresa Momber.   Her step by step tutorial and/or YouTube Video are awesome letting you create a scene as pretty as she can....truly!

I did color and fussy cut my shell out and then placed it on the base card stock.  It gives it a little more depth and dimension.

What I like about this card is that it really doesn't need any adornments or accents, I think it is perfectly lovely as is.

Thanks so much for coming by, appreciate you checking things out.

Enjoy~~

Some Bunny

Loves You!

Isn't that wonderful to hear? To say?  To feel?  You betcha!

Today's card is for the Challenge at Simon Says Wednesday, All Creatures Great And Small.

I used the sweet little stamp set, Polka Dot Parade #1 from Papertrey Ink.  Designer Paper is from Echo Park, A Perfect Summer.  The background die is from Flourishes, Perfectly Pierced and the Vellum Banner die is from MFT, Blueprints #12.  Stampin' Up! Inks in Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, and Tempting Turquoise.   Corner Tabs, Baker's Twine and Enamel Brads complete this card.

Easter is only 6 weeks away, 46 days actually.

I am hoping my shovel has retired by then.....fingers crossed!

Thanks for HOPPING by!

Sending Sunshine

Good Morning!  Such a beautiful winter morn here.  Too bad it is only 4 degrees with howling winds that make it feel like -16.  Bugger!  But the sun is shining and that helps immensely!

Today's card was made for the Challenge at Power Poppy, The Skies The Limit.

You are asked to be inspired by the skies in your area, sunrises, sunsets, the colors and hues.  I love walking my beach early in the mornings, but not on days like this, that's for sure.  So I went through a bunch of my photos, which I will bore you with in just a bit.

This card uses the Flourishes stamp set, Lots Of Thoughts, designed by Marcella Hawley.  I picked up on the colors from my photos, the oranges, yellows, a touch of pink and the blue sky itself.  Image colored with Copic Markers and a bit of Dazzling Details (Stampin' Up! Stickles).  The Designer Paper is Teresa Collins, Canvas.  MFT border die, Open Bracket and Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.  Accents are, Chipboard Button, Ribbon, Jute Twine, Button and Adhesive Rhinestones.

I'll send you sunshine, if you send me some warmth.....deal?

Here are some of the skies that inspired me.....

Happy President's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day

Good Morning!

Today's card is not a card but a simple little tag for the Challenge over at CASology, Love

I used the I Do! stamp set from Gina K Designs.  The wedding dress was stamped on Vellum using Versa Mark and then covered with Heat and Stick Powder, heated, and then covered in Dazzling Diamonds, reheated to seal it all in.  I then fussy cut it out and adhered it to the hand cut tag.  Stamped the rest of the images directly onto the tag.  Adorned the dress with itty bitty teeny tiny adhesive pearls, also added larger ones to the tag itself.    Traced a Clear Star Sakura pen over the inner heart and lapel of the tux.  Lace was added through the hole.

Cute.

Gearing up for another Blizzard.....just in case you were wondering.  Should be a 24 hour event, anywhere from 8-18 inches of new snow....oh goodie....she said with sarcasm....lots and lots of sarcasm.  lol

Enjoy~~

Something Sweet

Good Afternoon!

Valentine's Day is tomorrow and I have some sweet (no pun intended) little boxes to share with you.  These will be entered into the Challenge at Simon Says Monday, Red And Pink.

SVGCUTS has these sweet little Valentine Chocolate Boxes, a cut file for FREE!

Aren't they adorable?

I made 6 of them, 1 for my Mom and the other 5 for her tablemates.

I added some pearls and little name tags and an extra heart to each one.

And then I filled them with all things chocolate.  I am sure they will love them!

Hope you are having a sweet day!

Enjoy~~

Pop Up Cards

Good Morning!  Happy Friday the 13th everyone, this has always been a good day for our family!

Today I have two Pop Up cards to show you, one will be entered into the Mod Squad Challenge, Pop Up Cards.

This is my first one, the 'practice one'.  Not too crazy about the design, but I do love this stamp set from Stampendous, Daisy Thanks!  Copic Markers, Sakura Glitter Pens, Dazzling Diamonds, Ribbon, Designer Paper by K & Company, Spellbinders Labels 8 die.

This next one will be the official entry into the Challenge.

The front uses a die from MFT, Dizzy Border and Spellbinders Classic Oval die.  Sentiment from the Daisy Thanks! set.

The stamp set is Sweet Pea by Stampedous.  I used water color pencils to color the image.  Another Dizzy Border die on the back page.  Adhesive Rhinestone, and Spellbinders Label 4 insert to write my message.

Close up.

Photo to show you it does pop up, it's hard to tell when opened.

Fun cards to make, I am sure the Pop Up Card Die by Stampendous would make these much easier to assemble.

Thanks so much for coming by.

Enjoy~~

Feeling Blue This Winter

Hello again!

And believe it or not, I haven't been feeling blue, even with this winter, storm after storm!

Crafting helps!  :)

This next card will be entered into Papertrey Ink's Challenge #8, Blue Skies, to create a project using a blue ombre effect.  FUN!

I thought about this Challenge for 30 seconds and decided to go with the Masking Tape Technique, when you place a strip of masking tape across your ink pad, smooth it all down, and then pull it up, then place it on your card stock and smooth it down again.  When you pull it off of the card stock it leaves a beautiful strip of color.

I used 2 stamp sets from Papertrey Ink, Through The Trees and Love Notes (which is the sentiment).  Using Spellbinders Label Four die, I cut a piece of white card stock.  I then placed my masking tape on it, working light to dark.  Stampin' Up! Inks in Soft Sky, Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, Marina Mist and Pacific Point.  I masked off the base card stock with a scrap paper cut of the Label 4 then stamped the tree image.  I then lined everything up and stamped the tree image again on the die cut, masking the left and right sides.  This way I was able to pop up the focal image and have it look like a complete scene.   I also added a dark blue brad to the top and a light blue brad to the bottom.   The sentiment is stamped in Pacific Point ink.  Rounded each corner.    An enamel brad in the top corners complete this card.

This is a really fun technique, it just leaves an awesome background.

Thanks for popping in!

Enjoy~~

Heavy Metal

Good Afternoon!

Today's card will be entered at Papertrey Ink's Challenge #7, Metallics, to incorporate nothing but metallic and neutrals into your project.

I used the  PTI's stamp set, Through The Trees.   I love that tree line image, which I embossed in silver, it's like a little peek into a deep dense forest.  I added 2 of the small bird stamps and embossed them in gold.  I then mounted the focal image onto a little gold embossed frame, then layered a black and white card stock beyond that to make it all POP.  I also embossed the sentiment in gold, which gives this card an elegant look.  The addition of 2 gold adhesive pearls complete this card.

I have had a lot of fun playing along in all of the Anniversary Challenges over at Papertrey Ink.

Thanks so much for coming by.....oh I got my new computer cord in the mail today, thank goodness!  Bye bye, Kindle!  lol

Enjoy~~

Through The Trees

Love this stamp set already!

This card will be entered into the Papertrey Ink's Challenge #5, to spring into action, to use a stamp that has not seen ink, or is less used.

I think this is the very first time I have used this tree stamp, it is gorgeous!!!  It is from the Through The Trees stamp set.

I created a window by using Spellbinders Lacy Square dies.  The tree is stamped in a 2 step process.  When stamping the leaves I used the 'thumping technique'.  After I inked the leaves up with Always Artichoke ink I 'tapped/thumped' on a couple of different colors using a Copic Marker, then 'huffed' over the stamp to re-moisten the inks and stamped the leaves.  I also stamped the small tree image on a sweet little tag and tied it all together with a little Jute Twine.

Here's a closer look at the window.

I am praying my new computer cord arrives soon.....I am 'firing up' my old computer by waving a chicken bone over it and saying a prayer....so far so good.....eek!

Thanks for coming by!

Enjoy~~

Floral Bouquet

Hello!  Just a quick post.

This card will be entered into Papertrey Ink's Challenge #4, to create a floral bouquet.

I used the Pretty Petals set to create my Floral Bouquet.  Stampin' Up!  Inks in Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz, Tempting Turquoise, and Wild Wasabi.  I also added several enamel brads in corresponding colors.

Off I go to polish up my shovel, more snow (aka a blizzard) on Thursday.....ahhh Paradise!

Enjoy~~

Bagged And Tagged

Howdy!

My new computer's cord was not working, so after driving all over creation yesterday I figured out that I just had to order one online.  I am now on my OLD computer....so there may be a few blog posts in a short period of time, strike while the iron is hot and all.  I apologize if these become annoying.  Sorry!

This is a bag and tag I have created for Papertrey Ink's Bagged & Tagged, Challenge #3.

I used the Love And Marriage stamp set as well as a One Liner.  I created the bag from light card stock and then covered it in some pretty Valentine Designer Paper, and trimmed the top edge with pinking shears.  I also added a bit of gorgeous lace.

The tag was hand cut and layered with pink card stock over white.  I stamped the pink card stock with 2 different little hearts and then stamped the large heart and fussy cut that out and layered it on a piece of black card stock so it would POP.  Added two bits of ribbon to the tag and held it in place with a cute little Valentine clothespin.  Now to make a trip to The The Chatham Candy Manor to buy something yummy to put in my sweet little Valentine bag!

Thanks for coming by.....yes it is snowing.....again.....STILL!

Enjoy~~

Celebrate Everyday!

Good Morning!  Thankfully I am writing this on Sunday morning, so I have NO idea how much snow we got overnight!  So no complaining about that.....you're lucky!

This next card will be entered into the 2nd Challenge At Papertrey Ink.  We were to welcome back Maile Belle, head over to her Blog and be inspired and CASE one of her creations.

Here is her Blog.

This is the card Maile created using the Trendy Tree Tops set.

And here is my interpretation:

I used one of the tree stamps from Through The Trees set.  The sentiment is from Pretty Petals.  To create the circles of color behind the trees I used a Spellbinders Classic Circle die and masked it off where the trees would be stamped.  The inks are from Stampin' Up! in Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party.   I like that this a 'no layer' card and it is clean and simple.  I find these the hardest cards to design and make, but Maile took all the work out of that for me!

Thanks so much for coming by, I always appreciate you doing so!

Enjoy~~

Be Happy!

Hello again!

Lots of wonderful Challenges going on over at Papertrey Ink, they are celebrating their 8th Anniversary!

This card was made for their 1st challenge, you could choose from 8 Color / 8 Sketch Challenges.   (scroll to the bottom of the post from that link).

I chose this Sketch:

I hand cut the large tag out of chipboard and covered it in Designer Paper that matches the  background, I love this color combo.  I then stamped several random flowers from the Pretty Petals stamp set, and covered the entire tag with a sheet of Vellum.  I also stamped the circle image onto white card stock and cut that out with a Spellbinders Classic Circle die, to act as my 'button' placed it on the hole of the large tag, topped with a pretty bow.  The 2 small tags were cut using my Cameo for some other project, these are leftovers.  I stamped the Be Happy sentiment on to them, this is a one piece stamp, yet I masked off the words to make it 2 separate words.  Added a little Baker's Twine to tie them on the large tag and then took the liberty to add 2 pretty enamel brads in the lower right corner.

The inside also has a bit of the Designer Paper to add some interest--this is becoming my signature look I think.  Easy to do and adds quite a bit of loveliness.

Thanks for coming by.....don't slip on the ice and snow!

Enjoy~~
