Weak oppose Image quality is fine. I don't understand the reason for black and white though, especially when the sky is so featureless and lacking in contrast. I like these pictures looking upwards at skyscrapers and tall buildings but I think this one lacks a strong composition and that the little bits of streetlamps poking in at the edges of the frame detract from the image. Info A risky nomination and I don't know what you'll think to this. But there is something about the composition that I find really interesting and I like it more the longer I look at it. I think it's the warm and inviting light, the leading lines from the sweep of the road and the brickwork, the rich colours, and the contrast between the almost aggresive regularity of the brickwork and the repeating patterns in the roofs, compared with the somewhat eclectic architecture of the house. At the first glance I am not that happy about some of the elements (e.g. the walls at the right), but the short telephoto perspective (70mm) combines all them to a really convicing composition. Oppose -- I am sorry too, Mounir. The ISO is high, the shutter speed is more than ample for a 50mm lens, but f/32 creates a lot of diffraction, and its amplified by the APS-C sensor on the camera. Comment With respect to the original photograph, there are some artifacts introduced by removing the background: the tail shows a double contour, what seems a casting defects has been removed from the right-hand leg, and three cusps are present below the neck. Support I really like this photo and feel it should be highlighted. I saw the light coming through the window and thought, "WOW, those rays of light are beautiful." But then I moved up to the top right corner and noticed how light pollution prevents the details of the wall fresco from being visible (it looks washed out). Oppose with respect to the author who has presented at least a high quality QI, but I don't think 'considering it was taken from a cell phone' is the right attitude. Either it's good enough for FP or it's not, we shouldn't make allowances for the quality of equipment. I love the motif but I'm not convinced by the level of detail at this relatively small resolution (less than 6 megapixels) and I don't think the bottom crops in the corners are perfect. Oppose There are too many visible artificial transitions between sharp and blurry areas. Probably from merging two images or two layers (original and sharpened). I would be OK with using software to adjust sharpness, but the transitions are too artificial. Also, there is a lot of color noise on the castle and roof, probably created by increasing the sharpness. The light makes the picture too flat and not very interesting.
