Ferrari Land is a theme park located within the PortAventura World resort at Salou, Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. It is the second theme park based on the Ferrari brand following the opening of Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi in 2010.
History
PortAventura revealed plans to build a new theme park on 13 March 2014 based on the Ferrari brand. The name Ferrari Land was announced, as well as details of a new launched roller coaster which would be the tallest and fastest in Europe. The park would cost €100 million and was to open in 2016.[1]
In July 2016, it was announced that Ferrari Land would open on 7 April 2017.[2]
An opening ceremony was held on 6 April 2017 which was attended by 1,500 guests, including the son of the founder of the Ferrari brand, Piero Ferrari.[3] Ferrari Land opened to the public the following day.[4]
A children's area was added for 2018 which included the Junior Red Force roller coaster and four other family attractions, all supplied by SBF Visa Group.[5]
