Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and now we are running pell-mell into
the new year. I hope as you look back over 2024 you have had more good than bad
and that 2025 will be a good year for all of us.
This month the Group Of Seven gals are using Ombre as our Design Element.
It's such an easy technique and has a great impact on cards.
For my first card, I used a NBUS die and brushed on color from light to dark on
the petals and leaves. I set that aside and used a mask and Distress ink to make
an ombre background staying with the same colors.
While it was all on the table, I decided to do another...
This time I went more playful with this sweet bird.
I used the same technique for the background on the first card but going with
more intense color. The bird was stamped with Copic friendly
ink and colored with Copics.
There are some video links at the Group of Seven website to illustrate different
ombre techniques if you'd like to try. The rest of the GO7 gals have some fantastic examples
to inspire you. Or maybe you'd like to try your own ombre technique.
There's a link at the post where you can add your cards if you'd like.
I'm also going to add this to Darnell's NBUS challenge since the peony die
has been patiently waiting in the NBUS box.

Love ombre and your yellow card. Oh, and that little bird on your card is adorable.
What gorgeous ombre inking on both your beautiful blooms and your sweet bird Bonnie! Julia xx
Two beautiful examples of ombre shading! Especially love the first card with the ombre on both the background and on the gorgeous flower!
Two beautiful ombre cards Bonnie, and that wonderful peony on the first is a lovely size to fill the card, and love that your kept your flower colour in tune with the background and the sage colour green looks great for the leaves. The second similar background is the perfect backdrop for your sweet and fun blue bird. x
Such a lovely technique. It looks amazing in yellow. I especially love the first card. Simply gorgeous xx
LOve seeing this warm sunny yellow, Bonnie! Your floral arrangement is gorgeous, but that feathered dude always makes me smile from ear to ear!

Gorgeous Bonnie, I love the warm yellows in both cards and that cute little bird really caught my eye ♥
Love the warm tones of the yellows and the gorgeous flower on the first card. That bird is so cute. Glad you were able to use the ombre backgrounds on both cards.
Both your yellow ombre cards are so bright and cheerful. LOVE the gorgeous flowers and leaves with the ombre sponging and background. And then the bright yellow background with your adorable little bird. So fun! Great examples of ombre, Bonnie. xx
Precious and sweet! These two cards couldn't be more different, but they're both pretty amazing -- what a fun technique to showcase two totally different focal points
These cards done in yellow shades are lovely. I don't know why I don't use yellow much. It makes you smile and feel so good. The flower is dramatic and fills the space and the bird is awesome.
Two fabulous cards, Bonnie! Your floral is so welcoming on this gray rainy morning and that sweet little bird just makes me smile!
Nice to feature a simple background technique...yours are just lovely...and clearly the best of the bunch on the 7 Cardmakers website! The little bird and layout is truly a happy card...just love it!

Two great cards. The first is so elegant and your 2nd card is whimsical. I like them both.
As gloomy as it's been in my neck of the woods this past week, seeing all this yellow has sure brightened my day Bonnie! Both cards are FABULOUS with the ombre backgrounds...I'm loving both the lighter and darker backgrounds with the beautiful bloom on the 1st one and that sweet, sweet little birdie on your 2nd card! Hugs. :0)
Gorgeous cards! Beautiful ombre background too but I admit that that tiny bird just stole my heart. He's absolutely charming!
Oh my, Bonnie! That little bird stole my heart. I just can't help smiling when I look at him. Your ombre' backgrounds are lovely and so is the peony. Happy New Year!
Such cheerful cards Bonnie - I particularly love the 'cute' and playful bird image against the stronger background
Blessings
