Ghosting with Alcohol Ink and Acetate

Hello and TGIF!

There's still a couple days to play in the
CAS Mix Up Acetate Challenge.

We're celebrating our birthday this month and have prizes!

Here's one last card (for now) using acetate.

Using Stamping, Alcohol Ink, Ghosting Technique, Acetate, Die Cut

I used a technique I saw on Jennifer McGuire's blog on my alcohol inked piece.
I inked a stamp with Archival ink and stamped then wiped off the ink with a soft cloth.

It removes some ink leaving a ghosted image.  I repeated the process several times.

When it came to the dragonfly, I didn't think it showed up very well so I
stamped him in black and left him stamped.

Unfortunately the ink smeared a bit (it doesn't dry very fast or at all?) so
I filled in the schmeared wing with a black Sharpie and put some
acetate over the whole thing to keep it from schmearing more.

I die cut a piece of foam behind the frame so the acetate doesn't touch the
dragonfly.

Oh, and I stamped Friend on the acetate.

Even if you don't use acetate, come on over to see the gallery at

Small Antilles Flower Garden on Acetate

Hello my friends.

Today's card is for both the CAS Mix Up and CAS Watercolour Challenges.

I have used alcohol inks to color a piece of acetate for the background.

The flower garden has been die cut and watercolored using a
water brush and picking up ink smooshed into the lid of the inkpad.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Foil Leaves and Acetate

Hello my friends.

I hope you are having a good day.

Here's another card for our CAS Mix Up Challenge.
My mixed media are stamping, acetate, tissue paper, foil, alcohol ink and die cuts

Susan is hosting this challenge and it's open until the 24th.

Our Design Team and Guest Designer, Cathy, have some awesome cards to inspire you.

This time I used alcohol ink to add color to the back of a piece of acetate.

After it dried, I added some crinkled tissue paper to the back with clear glue.

Since there was some gold mixative with the alcohol ink, I thought
some foil leaves would look good with it.

The copper leaf had some tape on the back when I cut it to keep those
little pieces from running off.

The sentiment doesn't show up as well as I would like, but
I didn't want to risk ruining the whole piece so I left it as is.

This will be good for one of the guys in the family.

I'm going to share this with
Where it's ANYTHING GOES as long as there's stamping on it.

Edited to add that I'm also adding this to the

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Acetate for CAS Mix Up

Hello, and welcome to a new month.

It's a special month for us.

CAS Mix up is 2!!!!

We're celebrating with prizes for the top pick and one random draw winner.

Be sure to check out the challenge and enter a card for your chance to win!

********
We also have some exciting changes at CMU.
I'll get to them in a minute.

First, our challenge hosted by Susan

and my card.

I used acetate as a window by first embossing the image on
heat resistant acetate with StazOn white ink and heat embossing.

The acetate is sandwiched between two pieces that have the
window cut from them

I stamped this gorgeous flower again with Mustard Seed Distress ink
on a piece of watercolor paper and colored it in using inks that
were smooshed unto my palette.  I picked up the ink with a water brush.

The trickiest part for me was lining the watercolor flower behind the
acetate window after die cutting it.

The sentiment starts on the front and finishes inside.

My mixed media are
stamping, acetate, heat embossing, watercolor and die cuts.

And we're even more excited that Mac Mable is joining our CAS Mix Up team!
Yay, Mac!  We're so happy to have you on our team!

The Design Team has some awesome inspiration for you and we are joined
