Upcycling for Jingle Belles

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

This was super quick and easy.  I cut the image from a store bought Christmas
card I had received and popped it on a card base.

Challenges:
Jingle Belles - Use at least one recycled element

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

A Sweet Twofer

Hello there.  How are you this fine Fall day?

I have a twofer to share with you today.

These cards have been repurposed from this card my dear friend Nance gave me a year or
maybe two ago.  I had tucked it away but never forgotten it.  So I asked her if she would
mind if I used some elements from it to repurpose it.  She told me to go for it.

When I saw Darnell's Twofer Challenge this month, these candy apples
popped into my mind.

First I have a Halloween card.

I was able to pop the front two apples off without destroying them.
I moved one over a bit and found a piece of cardstock that matched the teal dots
in that dotty apple.  The gold foil really looks like caramel.  Yum!

The third apple works as a toadstool for this sweet gnome to rest under
as he thinks of his favorite thoughts.

Can  you see the glitter in the polka dots?

I stamped this little guy, trying not to stamp his hands and the swing
he was sitting on.  After several tries, I decided that wasn't going to happen.
I used my new Arteza Twimakers to add some watercolor to the gnome and fussy cut him out.

Nance gave me this gnome stamp too.

The background was a watercolor piece from my stash.
I added some darker green to the bottom and stamped a bit of grass.

I think I'll send at least one of these back to Nance.

It's the card that keeps on giving.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Earth Day Christmas

Hello, happy Earth Day.

Actually I think it was yesterday, but I'm still celebrating.

Are you scratching your head wondering what  a Christmas has to do with Earth Day?

It's an up-cycled or recycled card that I received last Christmas.

I worked perfectly for the Jingle Belles Challenge

I got a twofer out of it too.

The camera did a better job on catching the gold embossed trees on this one.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Madonna & Child

Did you ever wonder what to do with that leftover piece on the stamp sheet? I've been tempted to put it on a letter and see if it would get the same results as a stamp but I doubt that the Postal Service would allow that. Instead I trimmed it and used it as a focal point for a card. I've done this before with the little stickers that come with the return address labels. I think this is the prettiest Christmas stamp the post office has come up with in quite a few years. Anybody remember those scary nutcrackers last year? I have the left over from that but haven't needed a card to scare anyone so it sits in the envelope of "might use later" pieces. Hope your holiday preparations are coming together and that you are enjoying the season.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Small Script (Old hostess gift. You'll have to borrow mine.)
Paper: Very Vanilla, Brushed Gold
Ink: Encore Gold
Accessories: Paper Piercer, Mat Pack

Enjoy,

Bonnie
