Sending Sunshine

Happy Friday, everyone! This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to create your own background with stamps, stencils, etc. For my card, I created a stencil with the top layer die from the Flower Petals Layering Combo 2 Dies set from Divinity Designs LLC.  Using Blending Brushes, I was able to blend yellow and apricot inks to create this cool pattern with the die-cut stencil.  The butterfly  base and card mat were cut from copper foil cardstock, so copper pearls and copper cord were added to coordinate.  The sentiment is from the Birthday Flower of the Month - April set and the following dies were used: Double Stitched Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, A2 Landscape Card Base with Layer, and Butterfly Layering Combo 3 DiesFoam Mounting Tape was used to pop up the butterfly and sentiment panel.
Here is a photo of the die set, showing all six layers:

Pinecone Birthday Wishes

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge site over at Splitcoast is Lola and Dunelly.....I chose this photo for inspiration for my brother's birthday card.  The stamps, dies, and stencils are all from Altenew.  After the stenciling was done, the edges of the card were sponged for added dimension.

Eagles at Sunset

Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the Great Big Canvas site.....I needed to create a masculine card and thought this photo was so cool, with the mountains and eagle!  For my card, I combined three set from Divinity Designs LLC: the eagle image from 'On Eagle's Wings', the mountain image from 'Keep Climbing' and the sentiment is from 'Hello Sunshine'.  The mountains were stamped using my MISTI to get solid ink coverage, then colored with sponges and markers; a stencil and Blending Brushes were used to color the sunrays.  The eagle was stamped, colored with sponging and markers (using masking and reverse masking), then fussy cut and adhered to the panel which was cut out with the Pierced Rectangles Dies, layered onto a Matting Rectangle Die, layered onto a card cut with the A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer Die set. A clear glaze pen was used to add shine to the eagle's eye, beak, and talons.

Full Armor of God

Hi, everyone! This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to create a simple CAS (clean and simple) card with lots of color. This one-layer card is for one of the elders in my Bible study group. The stamps are from the 'Armor of God' and 'Full Armor' sets by Divinity Designs, stamped with Stazon Jet Black, then colored using Stampin Up markers. The background was colored with Blending Brushes, first lightly with navy blue, then gray ink over a stencil in my stash that has no company name on it.

#1 Dad

Hi, everyone!  This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is 'All About Dad'.....I'm cheating a bit since I made this card last year but never posted it anywhere.  I began with kraft cardstock, stenciled with brown, navy, and green inks with Blending Brushes over the 'Diamonds' Stencil from Divinity Designs LLC.  The letters from the 'Large Alphabet' Dies were used to cut out 'DAD', then popped up with Foam Mounting Tape, a bit offset so the navy mat showed underneath.  Other dies used are: Alphabet Caps, Sparkling Stars, Slimline Rectangles, Slimline Pierced Rectangles, Slimline Card Base.

Lookin' Sharp!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Sugar & Cloth.....when I saw these awesome potted plants, it reminded me of this super cute set from MFT, 'Let's Stick Together', which I had not used yet. I was cheap and did not buy the coordinating dies so all of the cacti and pots were fussy cut.  The tiny cactus flowers were colored with a yellow marker, then coated with a glaze pen before coloring the cacti with sponges and ink.  The background was created with scratch paper masking and sponging for the floor and the 'English Brick Wall' stencil was used for the wall.  The little stands were cut with the MFT 'Cat and Plant Perches' Dienamics set.  The sentiment and panels were cut out with the following dies from Divinity Designs LLC: Double Stitched Pennant Flags, Pennant Flags, Double Stitched Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, A2 Landscape Card Base with Layer; also, Foam Mounting Tape.

Hello, Cupcake!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Granny Green, Mango Melody, and Melon Mambo....I didn't have all of the colors so I tried to get as close as possible.  Since I still had this Sprinkles stencil and cupcake set on my desk from Saturday's card, I made another quick card for another niece's birthday.  After stenciling and coloring the image, I added stickles for some sparkle.....most little girls love sparkles, right?  The sentiment was cut out with the Double Stitched Pennant Flags Dies by Divinity Designs; the stencil and stamps are from My Favorite Things.

Hey There, Cupcake!

Hi, everyone!  Happy New Year!!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Distintivs.....when I saw the sprinkles on this game, I realized I had not used this fun Sprinkles Stencil yet from MFT (retired) and the stencil led me to the 'All The Cupcakes' set and the word dies (also retired). After stenciling the panel, it was cut out with a Pierced Rectangles Die from Divinity Designs LLC. This is a birthday card for my niece who just turned three.

Life Is Better With You

Hi, everyone!  Today I would like to share a CAS (clean and simple) card created for a friend's birthday.  The white card base was stenciled with light blue ink using the 'Circles' Mixed Media Stencil and Blending Brushes from Divinity Designs LLC.  Also from DD is this 'Fur-ever Friends' Stamp/Die Duos set. The image was stamped with Stazon Jet Black, water-colored, then popped up with foam tape over the sentiment which was cut and framed with the Sentiment Strips 2 Dies.  Some Crystal Rhinestones were added as a finishing touch.

Divinity Designs February Color Combo

Hi, everyone!  Today I would like to share a card which was created for the February Design Team Color Challenge over at Divinity Designs.  For my card, I used no stamps, which is unusual for me!  Here are the items from Divinity Designs used to create this birthday card:  Pastel Paper Pack 2016, Large Letters Dies, Large Numbers Dies, Scalloped Rectangles Dies, Pierced Rectangles Dies, and the new 'Flourishes' Mixed Media Stencil. I was thrilled to have satin ribbon which matched the designer paper so well, so I made the card look like a gift with the crossed ribbon; the bow was tied with a Bow Easy.

Sending Lots of Love

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper is Marge Yoon....congrats, Marge!!  I chose this gorgeous card to case today.  I used a different stencil, different colors, and a different sentiment, but kept the basic design the same.  After stenciling the panel with coral and pear, watered-down acrylic paint was splattered with a paintbrush before adding the word die and sentiment from the 'Sending My Love' Stamp/Die Duo set from Divinity Designs. The small sentiment was white embossed on black cardstock as on Marge's card and the word die was shadowed with black.  The two rectangles were cut out with the DD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies set.  Clear sequins were added as a finishing touch.  I will also be submitting this card to the Mixability 'Coral' Challenge and Ways To Use It 'Resolution' Challenge...I resolve to be brave and use more mediums on my projects this year. This card will be mailed out to a dear friend who is having health issues.

Lots of Hugs / Stacked Stencils

Hi, everyone!  My card today was created for both the Technique Lover's 'Stacked Stencils' Challenge and the Clean and Simple 'Circles' Challenge over at Splitcoast.  I began by stacking a tiny circle stencil over a large circle stencil and sponged daffodil and cantaloupe inks.  Once the panel was finished, it was cut out with the Divinity Designs Custom Large Banner Dies set.  The word and sentiment are from the DD 'Hugs' Stamp/Die Duos set.  I have a spool of extra thick cantaloupe baker's twine, which makes cards a little too lumpy in the envelope, so I separated the strand into three sections to make it thinner.  I love that it becomes wavy once you unravel it!  The banner panel was matted in cantaloupe and adhered to a daffodil card base.  These bright colors were chosen since I am way over this dreary winter weather and can't wait for some sunshine! :)

Stenciled Pansies

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Lori aka ArtzadoniaStudio...congrats, Lori!!  I chose this gorgeous card to case from Lori's gallery (flipped the layout to horizontal).  My intention was to use the same shaved pencil technique but I could not find my pencil sharpener ANYWHERE! (Grrr!)  So, I used ink and sponges instead.  The stencil I used is one I bought over 22 years ago to decorate/paint my new mailbox when we moved.   The stencil was taped down to watercolor paper; a yellow marker was used to color the pansy centers then a clear glaze pen sealed the yellow in to protect it from the purples.  Olive, lavender and razzleberry inks were sponged. Once the stencil was lifted, yellow was sponged in the center (which unfortunately smeared some of the razzleberry.)  The panel was cut out with the DD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies and the sentiment from 'My Friend' (also from Divinity Designs) was stamped in Stazon Gothic Purple.  Since I used three different mediums and one of the oldest craft items in my stash, I will also submit this to the MIX311 challenge from Friday.  Since the stencil used was re-purpsed for paper-crafting instead of a painting stencil for home decor, I will also submit this to the December Fan Club 'Flea Market Flip' Challenge.

Divinity Designs LLC January New Release

Hi, everyone!  Welcome to the January new release party for Divinity Designs LLC (formerly known as Our Daily Bread designs).  If you haven't heard about the name change yet, please visit this post.  I am super excited about this month's release, especially about the new embossing folder and mixed media stencils....yay!!  See the entire new release HERE, along with info on how you could win some goodies!

Here are the products featured in my projects for today:

My first card is a fancy fold which includes a matching belly band. There are several views below showing the different sections.  The purple card base was cut out with the Half-Shutter Card with Layers Dies, layered with shimmery white paper which was embossed with the new 'Flourishes' Embossing Folder.  The first photo shows the Belly Band Die Set which is embellished with a flower and leaves from the Festive Favors Dies (these can also be found in the Bitty Blossoms Dies set).  All of the ovals in this project were cut out with the Layered Lacey Ovals and Ovals Dies.  All of the stamps shown on this fancy fold card are from the 'Peach Branch' stamp set.

This view is the front of the card without the belly band.

The peach branch image was stamped in Stazon Jet Black, then water-colored then sponged around the edge.

This view shows the entire card plus the belly band in front. The dies used on the 3rd section are Lavish Layers and Pierced Rectangles.  I chose this cut out frame design for the last section so that the beautiful embossed layer would be visible underneath.

My next project is an open sided gift bag, cut out with the Festive Favors Dies.  The gift pouch, tag, circle opening and flower spray were all cut with this die set.  The designer paper used for the flap is from the Christmas Collection 2015 and the sentiment is from the Festive Favors Tag Sentiments set. (The goodies inside are 'soft-stick' peppermint from Cracker Barrel....yummy!)

The next four cards are a set, created with the new stencils and each of the four new stamp sets this month.  The first card features the 'Lemon Branch' set, along with the 'Circles' Mixed Media Stencil.  For this background, I used sponge daubers and ink to sponge through the stencil, then cut out the panel with the Pierced Rectangles Dies.  The images on each of the four cards colored with markers, sponging, and water-coloring and were cut out with the Pierced Ovals Dies, matted with the Ovals Dies.  Sequins were added to each for simple embellishments.

My next card features the 'Peach Branch' set, along with the 'Petals' Mixed Media Stencil.  For this background, two different ink pads were swiped directly onto the stencil; the stencil was spritzed with water and pressed onto white cardstock.

Next is a card which features the 'Fruit of the Spirit' set and 'Circles' Mixed Media Stencil.  This stencil was used with basic gradient sponging through the stencil openings.

My last card features the 'Apple Branch' set, along with the 'Petals' Mixed Media Stencil.  This background was also created with 'Stencil Stamping' as in the peach card above.

Thanks for hanging out with us today!

God bless!
