Salty Steampunk!

Hi BPM Fans!

We have a "Steampunk" theme this month here at the Blog.
I always love to have fun creating with this theme in mind - just love the industrial but science fiction feel characters and elements!

Today I've created a card with a focal stamp designed by Dead Sea Toons - I couldn't resist using the "Top Hat Nautilus" from the Midnight Creepy Cute Collection and making my Steampunk "Salty"!!
Wording is also available in the store - Follow Your Heart Sentiment along with the Small Cogs and Gears stamp used on the card background.

Fun in the Sun Post Card

Aloha,

Sending warm greetings from the beautiful beaches of Hawaii!
You can not help but be inspired when visiting such an exotic location.
This card was inspired by the vintage art work observed on the islands. Scene building cards are a great way to create small pieces of art to share with your friends and family or to remember a special event.

   Gelli Arts Printing Plate
   Paint
   Distress tool
   Foam tape
   Alcohol markers
   Black ink

Use the Gelli plate with shades of blue paint create the water/sky background. Using multiply layers of paint, create a wave like action for the ocean part of the scene.

Stamp the palm leaves only from the palm tree stamp in black ink in the fore ground. Next stamp the mountains and sail boat on white card stock.  Color in with shades of gray using alcohol markers. Scan and cut images to be adhered to the layer. Distress the edges of the painted/stamped layer to create the vintage look. Using foam tape attach this layer to a blue layer then tape this to the white card base.

Nautical Card

Hello Sin City Stamp Fans,
Today I have created a Nautical card, which those that know me is my absolute favorite subject matter when making cards. Sometimes a stamp by itself makes the best impact and I wanted to showcase several of the cool stamps from the Nautical Stamp Set.

Supplies:
   Rain droplet stencil
   Glitter embossing paste
   White embossing powder
   Various colors of card stock
   Cord
   Ink
   Sentiment

Step 1:  Stamp three images from the Nautical Stamp Set using ink of your choice.

Step 2:  Using a stitched square die, I cut out the stamped images.  (you could use scissors to do this step)

Step 3:  I matted the images using navy blue card stock.

Step 4: Cut card layer in a wave pattern to create the ocean feel.

Step 5: Using the rain droplet stencil, apply the blue glitter paste.

Step 6:  Emboss sentiment in white embossing powder to bottom of the other card layer.

Step 7:  Add as many other colors of card stock in the same wave pattern as the top layer to bring out the inked image colors.  I also added cord/twine in a coordinating color before attaching the stamped images.

I hope you enjoy creating this project with your own spin on it.  Please share your creation with us at the Sin City Stamp Fan page.

Ship in a Bottle- Fathers Day Card

Greetings,

I am trying a loose version of a monochromatic card for Father's Day.
I hope others will like it as much as I do.
It has always been a challenge to create masculine cards for most folks.
Enjoy!

Supplies:
Sin City Stamp- Nautical and Nautical 2 stamp sets
   Fish background stamp
   White embossing powder
   Heat gun
   Teal ink
   Black ink
   Silver marker
   Father's Day sentiment stamp
   Foam tape

Step 1:  Stamp the Ship in Bottle image in black ink on white card stock.

Step 2:  Emboss the sentiment on a blue banner in white.

Step 3:  Using the Rule of Thirds, stamp the fish background stamp over 2/3's of the card layer using embossing ink.  Stamp anchor from Sin City Nautical 2 set and emboss in white on the other third of the card layer.

Step 4:  Cut out Ship in Bottle and ink blend teal over entire image.  Using the silver marker color the bottle cap in.

Step 5:  Assemble card by using pop ups to give the bottle and multi-layered sentiment dimension.

A Father's Day card couldn't be any simpler.  I know any Dad would love to get this card on his special day.

Swimming in the Ocean Greeting card

Hello Crafty Friends,

I am very excited to use the Sin City Stamps Nautical 2 Stamp Set because I am an avid cruiser and spend much time on the Caribbean Sea. (or at least I try to spend much time there, lol) This stamp set lends itself to ink blending, one of my favorite techniques. I hope you too will enjoy making cards with this stamp set.

Supplies:
   Sin City Stamps:
     Nautical 2 set
   Other supplies:
     Inks-in blues, greens, browns, pink
     blending tool
     Sentiment word die
     Seaweed die
     Foam tape
     sequins
     masking tape

Step 1:
Mask off edges of card base. Blend ink, using three shades of blue, in the center of the card front. Next flick/splatter water on the blended ink. This creates the water effect.  Do as much as you like.

Step 2:
Die cut the seaweed.

Step 3:
Using two shades of green and one brown blend color onto the seaweed die cuts.

Step 4:
Stamp and cut out the fish and seahorse.

Step 5:
Ink blend the seahorse and fish to your liking, creating a realistic look to the sea life.

Step 6:
Die cut the sentiment and assemble the pieces into an eye pleasing arrangement.  Use foam tape to add dimension and sequins to give the card a little sparkle.
Now your project is complete.

I think the possibilities are numerous with this stamp set and am looking forward to seeing all the creations you post on our Fan Page.
