ADVERTISEMENTS?
■ These advertisements fall in separate categories/classes,
therefore are named so.
■ They are found particularly in newspapers, periodicals or even
on the internet.
■ They occupy less space and are economical.
■ They are of the following kinds:

GUIDELINES TO WRITING A
CLASSIFIED ADVERTISEMENT

■ Write the heading on the top in capitals- SITUATION VACANT,


SITUATION WANTED etc.
■ This is followed by the body of the advertisement, which
includes the relevant details of the given advertisement.
■ The advertisement ends with 'Contact name, address and
phone number'.
POINTS TO REMEMBER

■ Each word is charged in a classified advertisement, so


complete sentences are to be avoided.
■ It should have short phrases.
■ All necessary details should be given using commas.
■ The language should be simple and concise, yet the
important details should be included.
■ Personal pronouns and articles should not be used.
■ Visual appeal is very important.
