Things We Can Re-Use In Our Daily Life

1.Glass jars and containers can be used to store things .

2.We can reuse plastic bags for shopping.
3.We can reuse newspaper to pack fragile stuff and gifts also when gift warp is not
available.
4.Convert old bed sheets ,sheets, clothes into wash rags, dusters and you can also use
it to clean windows and electronics.

Why is reusing
important?
.
• There is less pollution since we process
fewer virgin poly resins.

• Energy is saved because we produce In this picture they are

bottle instead of throwing it
• We create less waste

• By reusing domestic materials, we

improve our economic security.

Biodegradable and Non-
biodegradable
Difference between Biodegradable and Non-
Biodegradable

Biodegradable Non-Biodegradable
1. an be decomposed by bacteria or 1. a kind of substance which cannot be
other natural organisms and not be broken down by natural organisms
adding to pollution. and acts as a source of pollution.
2. Biodegradable wastes are such waste 2. Non-biodegradable wastes are those
materials which are and can be who cannot be decomposed or
degraded by natural factors like dissolved by natural agents. They
microbes (e.g. bacteria, fungi and few remain on earth for thousands of
more), abiotic elements like years without any degradation.
temperature, UV, oxygen, etc. Hence, the threat caused by them is
also more critical.
Facts About Reusing
1. Recycling cardboard only takes 75% of the
energy required to make new cardboard
2. Over 90% of all products shipped in the U.S.
are packaged in corrugated boxes, which
makes up more than 400 billion square feet of
cardboard
3. Around 80% of retailers and grocers recycle
cardboard
4. 70% of corrugated cardboard is recovered
for recycling
5. Approximately 100 billion cardboard
boxes are produced each year in the U.S.

Also

make sure you are “reusing” any item that still has life in it. If
a toy, piece or furniture or item of clothing can be fixed, do it,
and then use it again. One of the easiest ways to reuse what
we already have is to look to our bag closet. Most of us
carry home bags from the grocery store several times a
week.
