Subject Abstract
This unit on entrepreneurship and financial literacy covers
real-life issues, focusing on the financial and economic aspects of
living that affect learners in general. Hence, this unit relates to the
advocacy of promoting Filipino Whole Learner facets and
equipping learners with 21st Century Skills needed for Filipino
whole learner development and adjustments in real life.

 It is a concept where you are not just selling a product, but it goes beyond what your
product can do, what your product is all about, and what it stands for.
 They key concept for unique selling proposition is for the entrepreneur to be able to
differentiate their product from the rest in the field.

A simple case of Starbucks. Many customers patronize it given that their


beverages are more expensive than the rest. Starbucks does not only sell coffee; they are
known for serving best premium coffee.

a) Understand who your target market is.
b) It can be very beneficial to pinpoint your customer's needs and wants that you did not
know existed. Different customers with different age, gender, income level, occupation,
and education may have different expectations and wants in your product. It is
important to know what they think and feel about your product The reasons they have
could be about quality, reliability, friendliness, cleanliness, convenience, or courtesy
or customer service. Feedback from customers is important in improving the quality
and benefits of your product and service. In addition, find out what your competitors
are doing and what they are good at in meeting customer expectations. Compare them
with your USP and see where the gaps are.

c) List down all the things and feedback that make your customers motivated to buy your
products. Categorize them by segments in terms of age and economic status. Match
them with the customer expectations and see where the gaps are. Establish new USP
out of these comments and strengthen those that need to be refined to be more effective.
d) Having listed all your new USP, review each one and see how you can provide more
emphasis in bringing the right message about your product. Adding visual presentation
may help bring more life to your USPS
e) Talk to your customers and get feedback as to which USP is more appealing and
effective.
f) Develop your marketing plans to build your business around your USP.
g) Review them regularly and appraise how your USP performs in the market, comparing
them with your competitors and new developments in the market
