TRACKS
The track gear boxes hold approximately 5 litres of oil in each side of EP90
gear oil this should be replace initially at 50-100 hours of tracking and then
every 1000 tracking hours.
Check this level every 100 tracking hours
As there is not a clock for tracking hours have the oil sampled every 6
months to check condition

Oil level

Fill Plug Drain Plug

Sandvik Mining and Construction

TRACKS
The tension of the tracks should be checked daily and re-tensioned if required.
Before check track tension travel the machine at least 2m forwards
There should be approximately 30mm (1 1/5”) of deflection in the tracks.
To tension the track remove the inspection cover from the side of the track to find the
grease nipple.
Grease the track using the special grease fitting with EP2 grease then track the
machine 20 meters forwards then back and re-check tension.

30mm of
sag

Grease Nipple

Grease Fitting
Sandvik Mining and Construction
Tracks
Releasing track tension, when releasing the track tension you
should unscrew the grease nipple not more that ½ a turn and
then allow the grease to purge out.
The reason for this is that the tracks are under extreme
pressure .
When the grease stops running out the grease nipple can be
removed fully

Sandvik Mining and Construction

Tracks
After the first 50-100 hours tracking check
the drive sprocket bolts and tighten if necessary
Track pad bolts tighten is necessary,
Return rollers for there condition and to tighten is necessary
Check for oil leaks around the gear box and drive motor

Drive Sprocket

Track Pads

Return rollers
Sandvik Mining and Construction
Tracking

When the machine is travelling up a gradient it should be driven

forward with the idlers first and the drive sprocket to the rear,
When travelling down a gradient it should be driven with the
drive sprocket first

Cone crushers
Service Training

A cone crusher is a rotational device. The CSS runs around the circumference
of the fixed concave. Material passes through the chamber by gravity moving
into the space created by the OSS.

One half revolution later the CSS compresses the rock and thus it is crushed
and reduced. This occurs in most cone crushers 5-6 times per second.

ESSENTIAL FOR CONE TO BE CHOCKED TO ACHIVE MAX

PERFORMANCE.

By this method the crusher will sense an even load throughout each and every
revolution.

Gasket thickness is calculated like this:

A + B - C = Gasket thickness

"A" is measured by using a rod-type micrometer.

"B" is stamped into the small end of the pinion.
"C" is stamped into the machined outer suface of the bottomshell.

Gasket will be compressed approx. as follows

0,5 mm will be compressed to approx. 0,3 mm

0,8 mm will be compressed to approx. 0,5 mm
1,5 mm will be compressed to approx. 0,9 mm
