Choral Invocation

Set my spirit free

that I might worship Thee,
Set my spirit free
that I might praise Thy name.
Let all bondage go
and let deliverance flow,
Set my spirit free
to worship Thee.
Opening Hymn
No. 470

God of grace and God of glory!

God of grace and God of glory,
On Thy people pour Thy power;
Crown Thine ancient church's story;
Bring her bud to glorious flower.
Grant us wisdom,
Grant us courage,
For the facing of this hour.
Lo! the hosts of evil round us
Scorn Thy Christ, assail His ways!
Fears and doubts too long have bound us;
Free our hearts to work and praise.
Grant us wisdom,
Grant us courage,
For the living of these days.
Cure Thy children's warring madness;
Bend our pride to Thy control;
Shame our wanton, selfish gladness,
Rich in things and poor in soul.
Grant us wisdom,
Grant us courage,
Lest we miss Thy kingdom's goal.
Set our feet on lofty places;
Gird our lives that they may be
Armoured with all Christlike graces
In the fight to set men free.
Grant us wisdom,
Grant us courage,
That we fail not man nor Thee.
Save us from weak resignation
To the evils we deplore;
Let the search for Thy salvation
Be our glory ever more.
Grant us wisdom,
Grant us courage,
Serving Thee whom we adore
AMEN.
Apostles Creed

Section 738
Minister:

Let us unite in the historic confession

of our Christian faith
Everyone:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of

heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only
Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy
Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under
Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead; he
ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right
hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick
and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the
holy catholic church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the
body, and the life everlasting.

Amen.
Glory be to the Father

and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost,

as it was in the beginning,

is now and ever shall be,

world without end. Amen, Amen.

Holy Scripture reading

Number 26 : 63 - 65,
1 Cor. 10 : 1 - 11
Number 26 : 63 - 65
63 These are the ones counted by Moses and
Eleazar the priest when they counted the
Israelites on the plains of Moab by the Jordan
across from Jericho.
64 Not one of them was among those counted
by Moses and Aaron the priest when they
counted the Israelites in the Desert of Sinai.

New International Version

65 For the LORD had told those Israelites they
would surely die in the wilderness, and not one
of them was left except Caleb son of Jephunneh
and Joshua son of Nun.

New International Version

1 Cor. 10 : 1 - 11
1 For I do not want you to be ignorant of the
fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors
were all under the cloud and that they all
passed through the sea.
2 They were all baptized into Moses in the
cloud and in the sea.
3 They all ate the same spiritual food
4 and drank the same spiritual drink; for they
drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied
New International Version
them, and that rock was Christ.
5 Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most
of them; their bodies were scattered in the
wilderness.
6 Now these things occurred as examples to
keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as
they did.
7 Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as
it is written: “The people sat down to eat and
New International Version
drink and got up to indulge in revelry.”
8 We should not commit sexual immorality, as
some of them did—and in one day twenty-three
thousand of them died.
9 We should not test Christ, as some of them
did—and were killed by snakes.
10 And do not grumble, as some of them did —
and were killed by the destroying angel.
New International Version
11 These things happened to them as examples
and were written down as warnings for us, on
whom the culmination of the ages has come.

New International Version

Praise and Worship
All together!
Lord, I Lift Your Name on High

Lord I lift Your name on high

Lord I love to sing Your praises
I'm so glad You're in my life
I'm so glad You came to save us
You came from heaven to earth
to show the way
From the earth to the cross,
my debt to pay
From the cross to the grave,
from the grave to the sky
Lord I lift Your name on high
Blessing and honor

Blessing and honor, glory and power

Be unto the Ancient of Days
From every nation, all of creation
Bow before the Ancient of Days
Every tongue in heaven and earth
shall declare Your glory
Every knee shall bow at
Your throne in worship
You will be exalted, oh God
And Your kingdom will not pass away
Oh, Ancient of Days
Oh, Ancient of Days
Your kingdom shall reign over all the earth,
sing unto the ancient of days,
And nothing compares to
your matchless word,
sing unto the ancient of days
Majesty, worship His Majesty

Majesty, worship His Majesty:

Unto Jesus be all glory,
honor, and praise.
Majesty, kingdom authority,
Flow from His throne unto His own,
His anthems raise
So exalt, lift up on high
the name of Jesus.
Magnify, come glorify
Christ Jesus, the King.
Majesty, worship his Majesty,
Jesus who died, now glorified,
King of all Kings.
Still (Hide Me Now)

Hide me now
Under Your wings
Cover me
Within Your mighty hand
When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with You above the storm
Father, You are King over the flood
I will be still and know You are God
Find rest
Find rest, my soul
In Christ alone
Know His power
In quietness and trust
When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with You above the storm
Father, You are King over the flood
I will be still and know You are God

Offertory Hymn No. 133
Breathe on me, breath of God!
Breathe on me, breath of God:
fill me with life anew,
that I may love what thou dost love
and do what thou wouldst do.
Breathe on me, Breath of God,
until my heart is pure,
until with thee I will one will,
to do and to endure.
Breathe on me, breath of God;
till I am wholly thine,
till all this earthly part of me
glows with thy fire devine.
Breathe on me, breath of God;
so shall I never die,
but live with thee the perfect life
of thine eternity.

AMEN.
Bless Thou the gifts our hands have brought;

Bless Thou the work our hearts have planned;

Ours is the faith, the will, the thought;

The rest, O God, is in Thy hand.

Amen.
