What is Scouting?
 an international organization that encourages boys to take part in activities
outside and to become responsible and independent:
 Scouting offers a holistic approach to character development by fostering
values, skills, and qualities that contribute to well-rounded individuals.
Through its emphasis on values, leadership, service, outdoor experiences, and
personal growth, scouting provides a nurturing environment where young
people can develop into responsible, empathetic, and capable individuals.
 The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP), created under Commonwealth Act
No. 111 as amended by Presidential Decree No. 460 and Republic Act
No. 7278, is an organization that recognizes the vital role of the Filipino youth
in nation-building.
What is the purpose of Scouting
movement?
 “The purpose of the Scouting Movement is to contribute to the
development of young people in achieving their full physical,
intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual potentials as
individuals, as responsible citizens, and as members of their
local, national and international communities.

 The Scouting movement, offers various programs and activities


designed to foster personal growth, leadership, community
involvement, and outdoor skills. Here's how Scouting contributes
to the development of young people:
 Values and Ethics:
Scouting emphasizes a strong foundation of values, such as honesty, respect, responsibility,
and compassion. Through various activities, discussions, and interactions, scouts learn to
understand the importance of these values and how to apply them in their daily lives.
 Leadership Skills:
Scouting encourages leadership development by providing opportunities for scouts to take
on responsibilities within their groups. They learn to lead by example, make decisions,
solve problems, and collaborate with others, all of which are essential skills for character
development.
 Service and Community Engagement:
Scouts often engage in community service projects, which instills a sense of responsibility
and a willingness to give back. By actively contributing to their communities, scouts
develop empathy, gratitude, and a broader perspective on the world around them.
 Outdoor Adventures and Self-Reliance:
