Background and Rational
• . Bullying is a serious problem in homes, schools and
communities. The researcher got interested on this topic
because it has been one of the problems of bullying that
happened in high school. Maybe bullying is the result of this
previous experiences and has something to do on its present
status. This study is very useful for students who have been
experience bullying because it may help them to understand
more and to forget what happen to them and also for their
future and to reduce or release them from their past
experience.
Statement of the problem

• What is bullying?
• What are the effects of bullying to the Mental Health of Grade
12 students?
• What are the causes of bullying among SHS students?
Scope and limitations

• This study is limited examining the effect of the bullying to


Grade 12 students of San Jose National High School in the
extent of Social and Emotional Phases
Significance of the Study

• Students nowadays are emotionally imbalances; they tend to


be easily affected by the people around them. We are
teenagers and we are still in a process of transformation to
become a better individual in the future. We are affected by
several matters, which this matter affects our growth and
emotion.
Definition of Terms
• Aggression- hostile or violent behavior or attitudes toward
another; readiness to attack or confront.
• Anxiety- is a feeling of fear, dread, and uneasiness.
• Bullying- is the process of using aggressive behavior
manifested by the use of force or coercion to affect others,
particularly when the behavior is habitual and involves an
imbalance of power.
• Mental Health- Mental Health includes our emotional,
psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think,
feel and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress,
relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important
at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through
adulthood.

CHAPTER 3
Research Design

• The research that we conducting is a quantitative research.


This study involves about the behavior of a bully and how
affects its peers. This research is finding more about the
bullying that’s happening in school. To know if there are
students who are experiencing bullying or have experienced,
students who are bullying other students, and their thoughts
and feelings about such incidents. We would also like to know
the perspective about bullying, what they know about it, what
they think of it, and the relevance of being aware of it in their
lives.
Research Locale and
Population

• This study was conducted at San Jose National High School.


San Jose National High School is located at Barangay 87,
Manlurip San Jose Tacloban City. The respondents of this study
were composed of 50 Grade 12 students.
Sampling Design and
Procedure

• Those participants are selected through random cluster


sampling. Random Cluster Sampling is a probability sampling
method in which you divide a population into clusters, such as
districts or schools, and then randomly select some of these
clusters as your sample. The respondents are 50 students
selected for Grade 12 chosen in the manner of purposive
random cluster sampling technique.
Research Instrument

• The researchers used a questionnaire from Intimidation and


bullying: A school survey examining the effect of demographic
data by Abuhammad, Alnatour, and Howard. The research
questionnaire consisted of 2 part. Part 1 of the research
instrument consists of the profile of students such as their
name and section. Part 2 of research instrument consists of
questions that have 36 item
Data Gathering Procedure

• The researcher of this study used a survey questionnaire in


collecting the data. The researcher of this study made sure
that the survey is enough to provide sufficient data needed in
the study. Also, these questions were thoroughly checked to
make the effectivity and modified to address all the
corrections of each question.
Method of Scoring and
Interpretation

• A statement Likert scale will be used to interpret and evaluate


the collected data in order to provide a foundation for its
analysis. The categorical responses that follow will be used to
score the collected data.
