Trying to excel in academics has already cause pressure to
students, although some factors including peer and family
expectation was said to be some of the few variable in this
academic pressure. For many kids, the strain of managing
extracurricular activities, social pressure, and academic
pressure might be too much. Some students may experience
persistent stress and anxiety as a result of the pressure to
perform well academically.

been pretty heated talk lately. Where students protest that
lowering school works and prohibiting giving school activities
and work alike during weekends should be made into action.
Due to this continues protest the DepEd responded and issued
the DepEd Memorandum No.392 where the contend would be
the no-homework policy during weekends so that students
would be able to have their time with themselves, have
sufficient time with families, friends or love ones.

variable that will be modified. On the contrary, The Results in possible solutions
on the problem are the dependent variabe in this study. The study was the
conceptualized by the researchers as depicted in the diagram.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
In accordance with our research topic, our goal in
to understand what would be the effects of school
pressure in regard to students mental health in
focused to STEM students. We aim to explain this
topic in a more detailed data,as in case on how

REVIEW OF RELATE LITERATURE
LOCAL
According to Marison Dy, Klarisse, Mellisa, and Sanchez(2015)
from their research "Stressors and stress responses of Filipino
students" that was conducted at Los Baños Philippines. For both
male and female the top five overall stressors of the respondents
were academic difficulty of subject matter, workload due to
subjects, time management because of subjects, responsibilities due
to being on one's own, and time management because of both
subjects and organizations. The most frequently occurring stress
responses were affective stress responses followed by cognitive
responses.
FOREIGN
A certain research that was conducted by Morgan
Rondinelli(2018) and guided by Dr. Meghan Duffy
which entitled “A Mental Health Survey of
Introductory STEM Students”.This research
happened at University of Michigan(America)
which Morgan together with Dr.Meghan concluded
that Mental health problems are prevalent among the
introductory STEM college students who responded
to their survey.
