FROM CELLS TO THE

BIOSPHERE
Molecules make organelles which go together into
cells.
Groups of cells are called tissues which make the
organs inside you.
And organs work inside systems to make living
organisms.
This is the way we’re organized from simple to
complex inside.
Short Review
Question 1:
What is one
example of a
level in the
biological
organization
chart?
Question 2:
What is the lowest level of the organization chart and
what is the highest level?

Cell Biosphere
Question 3:
Why do scientists use diagrams?

Scientists use diagrams to

make it easier to organize
and share complex
information

Jasmine is in Grade 7 and has been learning about Biology and her teacher showed the class the diagram
below. Jasmine is interested in plants and animals but is not sure how the plants and animals she likes fit into
this diagram. Jasmine has a pet dog and a fish tank with small fish in it.

Diagram A Diagram B
Question 1:
Describe the shape of Diagram A

Answer: It is an inverted
pyramid.
Question 2:
What level of the diagram (starting
with cells) are organs? Name an
organ.

Answer: Organs are in Level 3.

Question 3:
Which level of the diagram would
Jasmine’s dog and fish belong to
and why?

Answer: Level 5 because the dog and fish

are organisms.
Question 4:
Name the level of organization that diagram B
belongs to.

Answer: Level 1 since diagram B is a cell.

Question 5:
Name three (3) ecosystems common in the Philippines.

Answer: Rainforests, mangrove swamps

and coral reefs are common in the
Philippines.
Question 6:
Why is the biosphere
the biggest and highest
level in the diagram?

includes all the parts of the Earth where
life exists.
Lesson Conclusion
Question 1:

Questions 1,2 & 3 were based on

the text and diagram.
Did you find these questions easier
than those Questions 4,5 & 6? If
so, why?
Question 2:

Has this lesson helped you to

remember or understand the basic
structure of the cell? If so, how?
End.
