pharmaceuticals companies in the India. GSK is a british multinational
company headquartered at London, England.
• Establised in the year 2000 by the merger of Glaxo Wellcome and
Smithkline Beecham. GSK is the world’s 6th largest pharmaceuticals
company according to Forbes as of 2019 after Pfizer, Novartis, Roche,
Sanofi and Merck&Co.

Product Portfolio
• The GSK pharmaceuticals India product portfolio includes prescription
medicines, non-prescription medicines, products and vaccines. Their
prescription medicines range across therapeutic areas such as anti-
infective, dermatology, gynaecology, diabetes, oncology, cardiovascular
disease and respiratory disease.

• GSK also offers a range of vaccines for the prevention of hepatitis A,


hepatitis, invasive disease caused by H. influenza, chickenpox,
diphtheria, tetanus, rotavirus, streptococcus pneumonia and others.

The division I work for is Ingenium which is a speciality division and


we meet top consultants, Endrocrinologists, Gynaecologists,
surgeons. The brands are:
• Ceftum(cefuroxime axetil)- Oral antibiotic
• Eltroxin(levothyroxine)- Levothyroxine
• CCM(calcium citrate malate)- Calcium supplement
• Supacef(cefuroxime axetil)- IV antibiotic
• Phexin(Cephalexin)- Antibiotic

augmentin.
• Derma Ace- All India 300+ field force with major products Tbact,
Zimig.

Job profile

• We medical representatives visit clnics, hospitals, nursing homes,


medical colleges. We manage to meet the doctors, pharmacy
owners, clinic managers, nutritionist. Usually our job is to get an
appointment with the doctors, promote and sell the company’s
pharma drugs.
• We introduce the company’s product, give a brief presentation of
the product, answers queries and requests a prescription from the
concerned doctor.
• Business development through Rx generation.
• Manage key accounts and identify opportunity areas.
• Focus on self development
• Organize scientific meetings and customer relationship building
activities
• Develop a strong product knowledge to improve effectiveness.
• Selling the company’s medications to doctors, pharmacists and
other relevant healthcare professionals.
• Scheduling appointments with doctors,pharmacists and other
healthcare professionals to promote company medications.

Conclusion

At the end after experiencing 1.1 years, I can never consider sales as a job I
think it’s the passion that keep the person going every day. If anyone will
consider it as a job, then I am sure he/she will quit eventually. When you are in
the market then you represent the brand of the organization so it’s important to
maintain that respect, status and work with full integrity. Sales is the passion,
sales professional should be enthusiastic to meet new people and love
travelling. Accepting change and adaption are the two things which every sales
professional should have to cope the pace of market. Medical Representatives
are the building blocks of a company. They form the platform of the company in
front of customers and share the vision, promote products of the company and
achieves the given objectives, in turn, which get converted into revenue for the
company.
