Actually, there are 12 basis 21st century skills needed for this noble profession they
are:

3. COLLABORATION 9. LEADERSHIP
4. COMMUNICATION 10. INITATIVE
5. INFORMATION LITERACY 11. PRODUCTIVITY
6. MEDIA LITERACY 12. SOCIAL SKILLS
1. WAYS OF THINKING
(CREATIVITY, CRITICAL THINKING, PROBLEM SOLVING,
DECISION MAKING AND LEARNING)

 A 21st century teacher must have the following skills,


the following mindset by the way he/she thinks, the
teacher must demonstrate critical thinking so that the
learning will not become a simple memorization. The
teacher must also be creative as to ensure that the
interest of the learner to learn will not be hindered by
boredom. the teacher must also possess good problem-
solving skills and of course good and wise decision
making as he might be challenged most of the time by
many unforeseen circumstances.
2. WAYS OF WORKING
(ICT AND INFORMATION LITERACY)
In every relationship, romantic or not a good
communication is always the key to a healthy and
prosperous relationship. Here the teacher must be clear
on the messages he wants to convey. Also, no man is an
island so even though many teachers are independent in
many ways he/she must understand that collaboration
with other stakeholders will bring a much more effective
and efficient learning process that will benefit our
learners more.

Information and Communication


Technology (ICT) in education is the mode of
education that use information and
communications technology to support,
enhance, and optimize the delivery of
information. Worldwide research has shown
that ICT can lead to an improved student
learning and better teaching methods.
ROLE OF ICT IN 21 CENTURY’S ST

TEACHER EDUCATION
 ICT helps teachers to interact with students.
 ICT also helps teachers to access institution and Universities.
 It helps in improving Teaching skill, helps in innovative Teaching .
 It also helps in improving professional Development and
Educational management as well as enhances Active Learning
of teacher Trainees.
 ICT used as an “assisting tool” for example while making
assignments , communicating, collecting data &
documentation, and conducting research.
