REPORT WRITING
Topic: Write a report to your principal on your school’s sports day. Remember to include details about
when and where the event occurred, the day’s activities and the overall results.

Title: A Report on Buntley Girls’ Private School’s Sports Day

 Principal: Mrs. Monica Bernard
 Referee: Ms. Julie Lopez (Physical Education teacher)
Where did the event take place?
 Eric Taylor Stadium
 Address: Ruiz Street, Couva
When did the event take place?
 Date: Friday the twenty-third of March, 2021.
 Times: Start- nine o’clock in the morning
End- Half past two in the afternoon.
What happened first?
 Mrs. Bernard gave welcoming remarks.
 Sang the national anthem.
 March past- Kama Mitchell fainted.
 
What happened after?
 One hundred metre sprint, the two hundred metre sprint, the relay race and then the obstacle race.

 Twelve noon-lunch and entertainment by DJ Donut.
 
 What then happened?
 Games- sack race, egg and spoon race.
 Last competition was the tug-of-war
 All races ended at half past one.

A Report on Buntley Girls’ Private School’s Sports Day
 
On Friday the twenty-third of March, 2021, Buntley Girls’ Private School held its annual sports day at
the Eric Taylor Stadium on Ruiz Street, Couva. the sports day began at approximately nine o'clock in the
morning, with students wearing specific colours to represent their houses. The houses were the
Hummingbirds, the Motmots, the Ibises, the White Hawks and the Kiskadees. Ms. Julie Lopez, the physical
education teacher, was the referee for the day. 
 
The day began with the principal, Mrs. Monica Bernard, giving welcoming remarks and leading everyone in
the singing of the national anthem. After singing the anthem, the march past began. During the march past,
Kama Mitchell of the Ibises fainted and the first aid team immediately attended to her. 

Following the march past will the one hundred metre sprint, the two hundred metre sprint and the relay
race. Laura Ragbir of the Kiskadees won the one hundred metre sprint, Keisha Davis of the Motmots placed
first in the two hundred metre sprint, while the Hummingbirds earned victory in the relay race. After these
truck and field events was the obstacle race, which Natalie Evelyn of the White Hawks won. At around
twelve noon, there was a lunch break during which students were entertained by DJ Donut, while they had
lunch. 
 
After the lunch break, there was the sack race, which the Ibises’ Diana Dookran won. This was followed
by the egg and spoon race that Nisha Huggins of the Hummingbirds placed first in. The last competition was
the tug-of-war, in which the Motmots found victory. All races ended at half past one in the afternoon, after
which students sang and played games while the results were calculated. 
 
   
Finally, the results were announced by Mrs. Bernard. In first place was the Hummingbirds. The house
captain, Nicole Ramjattan, collected the trophy on behalf of the house. In second place was the Motmots and
in third place was the Ibises. Both houses also received a trophy each for their accomplishment. The White
Hawks and the Kiskadees placed fourth and fifth respectively. After the announcement of the results, the
sports day ended at half past two in the afternoon.
